The problem is that it is too late once it has happened. The law then protects the parents as all they have to do is accuse each other and neither can be prosecuted. I would like to see a change in the law where BOTH parents are held responsible for child abuse and treated as equally guilty of the same crime. Unfortunately, the law will never allow it under the constitution in the US and human rights in the UK. Nowhere are the baby's/child's rights considered.
