Hello all. As you may or may not know I am a Deputy Sheriff with the Lee County Sheriff's Office Located in Southwest Florida. On July 18th, 2008 in Fort Myers, Florida (a city within Lee County) Fort Myers Police Officer Andrew Widman, age 30, was shot and killed in the line of duty protecting a female victim of domestic violence. His funeral (which I attended) was yesterday. There was an awesome outpouring of Law enforcement as well as citizens of the community. Their support, both financial and emotional was heartwarming. I have included a link for you to view where you can read about the tragedy, fundraisesr, memorial fund account numbers and contacts ,etc : http://www.nbc-2.com/articles/readarticle.asp?articleid=20525&z=3
Please say a pray for Officer Widman, his wife Susanna, his son Smauel, his two daughters Sasha and Sylvia, and all of his family, friends, co-workers and other loved ones. Please pass this on to all of your contacts.
Say thanks to your local police for what they do, day in and day out, to keep you safe. They will appreciate it. Thank you very much and may peace and good health be with you always....Mike Brock
