Celebrating the life of SSG. Michael A. Dickinson II
Jul 25, 2008
Tomorrow is a big day for me...I am holding the 2nd annul Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser established in my son's name when he was killed in action 7/17/06. This Memorial is twofold, it helps keep alive the memory of my son and continue his path of selfless service, while at the same time it helps the at-risk children in our community by sending them to a Summer Camp of their choice. This year we have expanded to having a two part event. The first is Family Day which starts at noon and ends at 5 p.m.It is held outside and features pony rides, hot air balloon rides ( weather permitting), clowns, a fire truck, games, activities, prizes and lots of fun. This event is Free except for food and drinks. The evening event is for Adults and consists of a 50/50 raffle, Dinner, entertainment and a silent auction. The community has really supported us by donating some great things, we have things like over night Hotel stays, beautiful Jewelery,Collector Dolls and toys,Many restaurant certificates and lots of Golf packages. I have prayed all week for good weather and so far it seems we are to be blessed.Every year we are going to try and expand to make this an event the community really looks forward to.To me it is all about honoring my son's sacrifice while continuing to keep his name remembered. Please say a little prayer that we be successful tomorrow so that we may help more childern in our commnity.Thank you.......Some Gave All, All Gave Some......Never Forgotten

Once again it is Memorial

us to take some time from
our busy lives to reflect
on our many Heroes, who
gave their lives for our
Country and our freedoms
in one conflict or
another. It is a day to

Well
it has been a month since
my first Gold Star Family
Day which was held in
Lansing, Mi on the 12th

quite an emotional

everyone present had lost

I am getting pretty
excited about an
invitation I received
last month asking if I
would like to attend a
Gold Star Mothers
Convention in Lansing on
9/12-9/13. Of course I
responded right away with
a yes answer. We are to
dine on a riverboat and
get to...
Merry Christmas!
I am doing better but
still nor out of pain. I
will be back next year to
post on my groups. I hope
everyone is doing great!
Until next year. Patt

One thing I’ve noticed
while volunteering at my

is, those cats love soft,

Last night my wife and I
got into an argument that
was as ridiculous as the

hilarious thing was that
the whole thing started

— SAN FRANCISCO -- Last
month, marine scientists
counted more than 1,500
sea lions on fabled Pier
39, a record number that
delighted tourists and
baffled experts. Why so
many? Why were they
sticking around? But now,
almost all of the sea
lions are gone,... more
