Kathryn Kolbert, president of People For the American Way Foundation, presents Phyllis Lyon with a book containing more than 8,000 congratulatory messages from People For members on the occasion of Lyon's wedding to her partner of more than 50 years, Del Martin. Lyon and Martin were the first couple to marry in San Francisco after same-sex marriage was legalized in June.
