We need to find a balance between a better life, and survival. Out in the wild, Elephants suffer at the mercy of poacher and local livestock owners. These negative forces on this animal's vast backyard, have forced a vicious cycle where Elephants have become aggressive and "attacking" locals which creates a negative image for Elephants already endangered in this world.
If they can't live on their own at peace in the wild and do not have a promising future in captivity... then it clear that we are the ones who need to change.
As citizens of the world we need to change our views of how the worlds creatures and us interact. We need to change the views of poachers to prevent such horrible circumstance for these amazing creatures. We need to inform the locals of the animals behaviors and that reactions to humans are equal to how the locals have reacted upon them. We need to edcuate children that animals as great as these deserve our attention just like a puppy or pet rabbit.
Elephants are some amazing creatures that even though they do not look like humans, their close bonds and emotions are very similar. Lets reach out to them.
"Every creature is better alive than dead, men and moose and pine trees, and he who understands it aright will rather preserve its life than destroy it." - Henry David Thoreau
