One of the best things about Care2 is the breadth of causes and opportunities to take action.  The downside is it can be hard to find what you’re interested in.  But fret no more;  today we take a big step forward with the launch of our first eight “Cause Channels.”

Care about human rights?  Our new “Fight for Human Rights Cause channel pulls in all the human rights content from across Care2 - including the Care2 News Network (C2NN),  petitions, click-to-donate sites, volunteer opportunities, group discussions, polls and Care2 members who support the cause.  All on one page.  Nice and simple.

 Human Rights Cause Channel

In addition, each Cause channel will be anchored by a blog with original stories and posts from our growing network of bloggers and nonprofit partners.   Our goal is to make it easy for you to keep up to date on the causes you care about most.

The eight main causes launched today include Animal Welfare, Global Warming, Wildlife & the Environment, Politics for Change, Health Policy, Women’s Rights, Civil Rights, and Human Rights. You can dig down deeper in each main cause to focus on your passion.  For example, from the Animal Welfare cause page you can focus on Animal Abuse, Animal Testing, Farm Animals, or Pets.

Note: If you’re posting news stories on C2NN, make sure to tag your story with a word related to the appropriate cause so it will automatically be pulled into the Cause channel.

We’ll be rolling out a series of upgrades over the next few weeks, and adding more bloggers and great new content.  Simplifying the navigation and adding more information on causes has been a long time top request of visitors to the site, so we’re thrilled to be launching this and look forward to seeing you on the Cause channels!  And of course we welcome you to read the new Cause blogs, post your comments on them, and share your thoughts.  Enjoy!

If you are wondering how your business will thrive, we have a suggestion, based on 5 years of research(while on extended vacation in Hawaiian islands), AND will help your business be associated with Good Causes(like the Bono led 'Red' campaign to eradicate global poverty). So, today, 14 December 2008, you are cordially invited to review this Special Report, which lays out a SRN business approach, which we have adopted in full, at In Business4Good Enterprises. We like to call it a Get The World Healthy Quick scheme(as opposed to the innummerable Get Quick Rich on the Internet games that are evitable in these economic times).

Here's the link .enjoy it(pdf format file) and perhaps print and pass it along to your communities.

I'd like to see the "Global Warming" cause dedicated to the truth, rather than one which accepts the dogma of human-caused carbon pollution based climate change.

There are other views out there, and only by unbiased debate will we get to the bottom of what looks, more and more, like a politically motivated fabrication rather than a dire threat to humanity.

In short, you need to alter you Global Warming Cause such that it does not offer human caused climate change as a religion.

Ian - It's pretty sad commentary that some folks think the issue of global warming is partisan politics. While government involvement is required to solve the problem, it's not just an issue for the Left.

As for the scientific debate - I've read an awful lot about this, and other than a few extremist who deny the human-impact side of this, I think the debate among scientists is over. You're welcome to post your beliefs, but for us to report that there are two credible sides of the debate would frankly be extremist - and we're not going there. Our goal is not to present all sides of the issues - our goal is to help individuals make the world a more caring, sustainable, better place. We could find folks who think dictatorships are best, and while they're welcome to their opinions (and welcome to post their beliefs on our site in a constructive manner), we're not going to suggest dictatorships are good for people or the planet. Likewise, our approach on the global warming front will be to help mankind move in a direction that will reduce man's impact and help people and the planet.

sounds all good and more focused.

One thing I would like to see is a focus by care 2 on stopping monsanto from its decimation of organic crops by the dominance of world goverments and farmers to have to grow GM foods.
This is not just in drought areas they domineer places like the uk to grow there gm products and sray with there round up chemicals. Unless we stop them in some way we will not have organic food or butterflies and bees they will be a thing of the past. GM and organic food cannot co-exist one has to go.

What I would love to see is a main petition on care 2 for a total ban of Gm products in the world. I beieve that a few million signatures will do this. :)To me this issue is more important than global warming. I believe that if we can make the world organic the rest will follow. People will start to want to care for the planet.
