Top 10 Important Petitions Related to Health

There are so many, many good petitions related to health, it was hard picking just ten!  I narrowed it down to the ten that I believe to be the most important based on several factors--the ones which affect the most of us in direct relation to health; our right to have the choice to take care of our health the way WE see fit; to not be poisoned against our will; and to be told the truth about matters regarding our health.

Please take the time to sign these, and then visit the Petition Site to sign some of the many good ones I did not include!  (There are some disability ones that are really good, and that cosmetics one, and the ones about tobacco and kids...please take a moment to decide what's important to you!)

Here are the ten that I chose.  I believe these are extremely important for everyone living on earth!

Constitutional Protection of Medical Diversity
Health consumers demand a Constitutional amendment guaranteeing freedom to choose among health systems freely; and diverse health professionals to practice freely with the same licensing and insurance benefits as allopathic doctors and hospitals; without government or organized medical opposition.

Put Your Health Choices Back in Your Hands
It's your health, and when you're a patient the treatment you receive should be your decision. The Access to Medical Treatment Act (AMTA) currently being considered by Congress gives back the authority to patients and their doctors to use medical treatments and devices that have not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

AMTA will make alternative medical treatments more accessible to the public, and give many patients who face life-threatening afflictions another viable option in their health care choices.

Bush Opposes EU's Plan to Test Chemicals for Health Hazards
The LAST thing we need is LESS testing of dangerous chemicals: The US fails to require any testing for more than 95% of the chemicals currently in commerce. Why fight AGAINST testing chemicals for dangerous health risks?
It does not make sense, but "the Bush administration is siding with the U.S. chemical industry to wage an unusually aggressive campaign against European proposals that would require testing tens of thousands of chemicals for potential health and environmental hazards..." (Wall Street Journal, 9/9/03). Just last week, the administration stepped up their efforts - U.S. diplomats in the EU were instructed to lobby against these tests (Financial Times, 3/28/04).

Moratorium for Genetically Modified (GM) Foods
A large and growing number of scientists and physicians throughout the world are voicing serious concerns over the development of genetically engineered foods and the irreversible genetic pollution of our natural food supply.

We are being asked to strongly urge the passage of legislation and policies to mandate:  an immediate minimum 5-year moratorium on the release of all genetically engineered organisms;  the establishment of rigorous pre-market safety testing protocols and the continued viability of an uncontaminated food source for America; and full disclosure through the clear and accurate labeling.

Tell your Representative to keep our food safe!
UPDATE, 3/1/06: Your emails are working! The House has just delayed the vote on H.R. 4167 - originally scheduled for March 2nd - to allow for debate on the bill and any amendments. Keep up the pressure - it's working!

Congress will vote next week on a bill that would gut state food safety and labeling laws, endangering the food you eat. H.R. 4167, the "National Uniformity for Food Act," lowers the bar on food safety by overturning state food safety laws that are not "identical" to federal law. Hundreds of state laws and regulations are at risk, including those governing the safety of milk and shellfish.

Industry-sponsored H.R. 4167 is gaining momentum and must be stopped! Act now! Protect yourself and others from unsafe food by writing your Representative and urging them to vote NO on H.R. 4167.

 
Stop Drug Companies from Hiding Study Results
We deserve to know the full truth about the drugs being marketed and prescribed to us!

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) often has access to drug safety risks, but does not make them public -- keeping researchers, doctors and patients in the dark.

It's time to stop the blame game and protect consumers. Clinical trials should be made public so important safety information is available to everyone and drug advertisements are clear about potential harmful side effects.

 
Here's a shocking fact: more Americans die each year from hospital-acquired infections than from auto accidents and homicides combined. An estimated 90,000 people die every year from hospital-acquired infections, yet hospitals still don't have to disclose their rates of infection. Hospitals don't even have to report their infection rates to the regulators who are responsible for making sure they meet basic standards.

A few states are taking action against this deadly health care problem by giving consumers information about how well their local hospitals control infections. But in most states, hospital infection rates are still secret.  It's time to make hospitals a safe place.
Factory farming industry members are trying to usurp the "organic" label and use it on chickens that they raise in extremely inhumane, factory farming conditions.

As the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB ) Livestock Committee meets to establish national standards for organic poultry, giant corporations are intensively lobbying the Board to allow their industrialized factories to be certified as "organic!" If allowed, it will only strengthen an industry that does immeasurable harm to animals and the environment.

 
Prevent the Misuse of Antibiotics
The misuse of antibiotics is leading to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which are causing increasing numbers of serious, difficult-to-treat illnesses in humans.

The Preservation of Antibiotics for Human Treatment Act (S. 2508) will phase out the routine feeding of medically important antibiotics to healthy livestock and poultry. The poultry and livestock industries have been major culprits in the overuse of antibiotics.
The American Medical Association, the American Public Health Association, the World Health Organization and other leading health organizations are on record opposing both the non-therapeutic use of antibiotics in animal agriculture.
Increasing evidence suggests that toxic chemicals and pollutants are contributing to the high rates of breast cancer in the United States. Exposures to these toxins when we are young may lead to the development of breast cancer when we are older. Yet, the government allows the spraying of potentially carcinogenic pesticides to be sprayed on our children's schools!

The School Environment Protection Act (SEPA) provides basic levels of protection for children and school staff from the use of pesticides in public school buildings and on school grounds. Please join environmental, public health, education and children's advocates in voicing your support of the Schools Environment Protection Act.

Vibrational Healing

Hellllloooooo!!!

I thought today I would tell you about my name, Vibraceous.  What in the world does that mean???

Well, it has to do with vibrational healing.  What's that?  Hmmm...Let me see if I can explain...

We all understand the vibrational power of music, correct, but do we know why it has the power to alter our moods like it does?  Well, it affects us either by resonating with our own vibrational level, or else altering it just a wee bit, to cause us to be in tune with the tune, so to speak.  Make sense?  It affects us vibrationally.  That's why soothing music soothes, and exciting music excites.

Light has vibrations, too...and therefore, colors do, too.  Healing through the use of gems works because it maginifies and directs the energy derived through the color of the gem.  It's the color that adds the life to the stone, otherwise, it's just dead unliving rock.

Anything with energy has vibrational levels....so think in terms of energy and life.  Dead things don't vibrate at all.

That doesn't really explain the whole thing, but it's a start, anyway.  Vibrational healing has to do with attuning our vibrational level to a higher level of life.  This can be done through various influences, such as thought, music, color, light...even the foods that we eat.  (IF we don't cook all the life out of it!  That's why raw foods are best.)  (I'm not talking raw meat here...meat's dead.  Come on!  We all know that!  Duh!  Hahaha!)

Thoughts have vibrations, too.  That's an important point to keep in mind.  There is power in our thoughts and words, and the vibrational level can have a positive or negative impact on what we manifest in our lives.  Like attracts like in this way.  This is actually the science behind karma, I think.  Makes sense to me, anyway!

Natural fragrances also vibrate at varying frequencies, which is why aromatherapy works.  Every scent is made up of different components, which have different vibrational levels and resonate with different parts of our being.  That's why specific aromas in aromatherapy work on specific aspects of our health...because they resonate to particular organs in us. They all vibrate at different rates.

Words have different rates of vibration, depending upon the vibratory level of the thoughts behind the words.  This is why prayer works...the words used in prayer are designed to raise our thought patterns and to attune or mind to the mind of .... God?  Hmmm....There's a word to explore, I would guess!  I should get some good comments on that!  Hahaha!

But the point of prayer isn't to convince some all-knowing being to help us...if God is omniscient, then God already knows, which is exactly what the Bible says, too. 

The point of prayer, rather, is to raise our own vibrational level...to line our thoughts up with the source of all energy which transforms things into being in the physical realm. 

Our lives are like mirrors which reflect our vibrational level of mind.  That is why mountains move, water can be walked upon, and the dead can even be raised.  Jesus told us we can do these works and greater, if we but have faith and believe.

What is it we have to believe?  Well, in my humble interpretation, we have to believe in the Light (the Force, the Power, the Energy, God, as you will...) and we have to believe that this power exists within us in order to direct it (the Christ, the son, God/the Force within us), and we have to believe that it is in everything else, so that a connection is established in our mind...a conduit, so to speak.  (Does this not represent the Holy Spirit?  The third part of the Trinity? )

To me, this power within us is the Christ...God in man...Jesus exemplified this, and it is in us as well.  That's my take on it...today.

Christ in you, the hope of glory.  Amen.  (Amen means, "and so it is."  It's a decree, more than just a closing.  Just a little tidbit to know.)

It's not that I don't believe in the teachings of Jesus; I do. It's what PEOPLE have done to the Christian RELIGION which goes against my grain.  People and politicians and popes...

Wow...I'm getting deep now!  Let me try to simplify things. 

I taught my kids that God is like the Force...and our goal is to become Jedi masters, of course!



Energy is all that there is. (God is all there is.)  What we perceive as solid is really microscopic particles vibrating at a very high rate of speed.  Things appear solid to us because our sight is limited and we don't see the movement, or vibration, of the particles with our bare eye. But every object, including the human organimsm, has a natural healthy vibratory rate.  To be caused to vibrate at an inharmonious rate is what brings on a sense of dis-ease. 

Vibrational healing techniques are those which serve to restore the vibrational patterns to their normal harmonious frequencies through the use of sound, light, color, therapeutic grade essential oils, flower essences, crystals, tai chi, reiki, herbs, meditation, prayer, chanting, etc...there are numerous techniques which are effective to use.

Vibrational healing works on not only the physical level, but in the spiritual and emotional realms, too.  We'll get more into that at some point in the future.  As for right now, I think this is enough of an introduction to what my name means and also some of the concepts I'd like to share in this blog.  I will expand on this more.  (Believe it or not, they actually teach this in school!  Just not nearly enough...)

OH!  And lest I forget!  The one thing that can increase your vibratory to the highest degree is Pure Love!!

There is sooooooooooooo much more to talk about regarding a subject as expansive as this.  I'll save more for another day.  I hope this brief introduction to vibrational healing was of interest to you!  Next time I'll talk about some practical applications of this, for instance how this principle relates to the foods that we eat, or maybe how colors affect us or how flower remedies work!
