Ten Ways You Can Tell If You Are A Teabagger

A Brief List of Clues as to Whether You are a Teabagger or Not!

1) If you are part of a movement that mocks sick, disabled, or terminally ill people, you are a teabagger.

2) If you are part of a group of people that hurl racial and homophobic slurs at elected officials. (Extra-special teabaggery awarded to those that called my former congressman and civil rights leader, John Lewis the “N” word,) you are a teabagger.

3) If you are part of a movement that defends someone spitting on an elected official, you are a teabagger.

4) If you are part of a movement that orchestrated a nationwide campaign to disrupt town hall meetings in an attempt to stifle and shout down ordinary citizen’s you disagree with, in order to deny them their equal first Amendment right to free speech, you are a teabagger.

5) If you are part of a movement that holds a convention and the keynote speaker suggests we should go back to the Jim Crow laws that required a literacy test for voters, you are a teabagger.

6) If you are part of a movement that holds a convention and a featured speaker suggest president Obama was born in Kenya and has no legal right to be President of the United States, you are a teabagger.

7) If you are part of a movement that believes Obama is part of a global socialist conspiracy to sell America out to a “New World Order,” controlled by foreigners, you are a teabagger.

8) If you are part of a movement that believes Obama plans on using the military against his own citizens and have FEMA create reeducation/concentration camps for white Christian conservatives, you are a teabagger.

9) If you are part of a movement with websites that promotes recruitment for radical militias, you are a teabagger.

10) If you are part of a movement the hosts organizations that openly support the idea of an armed insurrection and believes we are headed toward a bloody "Second American Revolution," like the Oath Keepers, you are a teabagger.

Bonus note: This past week, the Tea Party Patriots site ran a headline that announced, “FBI Raids Tea Party Compound” after the arrests of members of the Hutaree militia. Once again, who am I to argue with members of the Tea Party movement if they wish to claim the Christian Identity militia as one of their own? The fact is, at least one member of the Hutaree militia has connections with the Michigan and Ohio militia. And both these militias have connections to the Tea Party movement. And, we all know Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols attended Michigan militia gatherings.

Teabaggers wake up from a lifelong intellectual coma and suddenly realize life is not fair, by Stacie Adams 041610

There was a stat recently that many people were losing their shit over. Apparently about 47% of the population doesn’t pay Federal Income taxes. Why, you ask? Because they make so little money that taxing it is pointless, or they receive assistance in the form of government credits aimed at reducing the financial stress of lower to middle income families.

Here is a more annoying stat; approximately 53% of your tax payment goes to military funding. On principle I can’t really object to that. However, in practice this money is squandered on bullshit like having outposts all over the world and slogging through two different wars that our military is apparently incapable of bringing to a close. Wasteful spending in the military is legion and has been for quite sometime. Comparatively, something like education, which is posing a huge problem to the US at the moment, is pathologically under funded.

But the infamous tea-baggers or tea-partiers or tax day protesters or whatever they are called only recently noticed that the government was actively screwing them over. In fact, for many years if one said something not completely glowing about the government they were accused of being a communist by the same people who are now so critical.

Is it so hard to believe that these people are racist and that’s why they’ve suddenly become such vocal critics of the current administration? It’s not that I think Barack Obama is beyond criticism, it’s just that the criticism leveled by the tea-bangers makes no goddamn sense. They direly claim the country is headed in the wrong direction, which is at best a vague objection and at worst is a place holder for something much more impolite. And if the country is truly is on the ‘wrong track’ it’s been on that path for much longer than Obama has held office.

The disparity of the government only became evident to these people when a black guy took office, yet they are entirely squeamish about being called what they are. There was a mad dash to prove that the accusations of racial slurs being shouted at members of congress after they voted on health care were nothing but liberal propaganda. Andrew Breitbart, a hideous yet incompetent protege of Matt Drudge, even went so far to manufacture a video he claimed refuted the congressmen's allegations. Except the video was from a completely different event and disproved nothing, which was duly noted by many commentators.

According to a recent poll, 18% of Americans aggree with the ideas put forward by tea-partiers. I find this troubling because I have yet to unearth one sentiment afforded by this group that makes a lick of sense. Maybe it is like a dog whistle, only angry, put upon white people can hear the shrill cry of the boiling kettle.

New Rule: You Can't Use "There Will Be No Cooperation for the Rest of the Year" as a Threat If There Was No Cooperation in the First Half of the Year

New Rule: You can't use the statement "there will be no cooperation for the rest of the year" as a threat if there was no cooperation in the first half of the year. Here's a word the president should take out of his teleprompter: bipartisanship. People only care about that in theory, not in practice. The best thing that's happened this year is when President Obama finally realized this and said, "Kiss my black ass, we're going it alone, George W. Bush style."

Two months ago, conservative Fred Barnes wrote, "The health care bill is dead with not the slightest prospect of resurrection." Well, if it's dead, you just got your ass kicked by a zombie named Nancy Pelosi. Seriously, the last time a Democrat showed balls like that John Edwards' girlfriend was filming it. Make all the botox jokes and she-shops-too-much jokes you want, but this is the biggest political victory a woman has ever achieved in America. Yes, Nancy Pelosi likes nice clothes. So does Sarah Palin. The difference is Nancy Pelosi pays for hers.

But even before the Democrats got to take a single victory lap they were already being warned not to get used to the feeling, and not to get drunk with power. I disagree. All you Democrats: do a shot, and then do another. Get drunk on this feeling of not backing down and doing what you came to Washington to do.

Democrats should not listen to the people who are now saying they shouldn't attempt anything else big for a while because health care was such a bruising battle. Wrong -- because I learned something watching the lying bullies of the Right lose this one: when they're losing, they squeal like a pig. They kept saying things like, the bill was being "shoved down our throats" or the Democrats were "ramming it through." The bill was so big they couldn't take it all at once!

And I realized listening to this rhetoric that it reminded me of something: Tiger Woods' text messages to his mistress that were made public last week, where he said, and I quote, "I want to treat you rough, throw you around, spank and slap you and make you sore. I want to hold you down and choke you while I fuck that ass that I own. Then I'm going to tell you to shut the fuck up while I slap your face and pull your hair for making noise." Unquote.

And this, I believe, perfectly represents the attitude Democrats should now have in their dealings with the Republican Party: "Shut the fuck up while I slap your face for making noise -- now pass a cap-and-trade law, you stupid bitch, and repeat after me: 'global warming is real!'"

The Democrats need to push the rest of their agenda while their boot is on the neck of the greedy, poisonous old reptile. Who cares if a cap-and-trade bill isn't popular, neither was health care. Your poll numbers may have descended a bit, but so did your testicles.

So don't stop: we need to regulate the banks, we need to overhaul immigration, we need to end corporate welfare including at the Pentagon, we need to bring troops home from... everywhere, we need to end the drug war, and we need to put terrorists and other human rights violators on trial in civilian courts, starting with Dick Cheney.

Democrats in America were put on earth to do one thing: drag the ignorant hillbilly half of this country into the next century, which in their case is the 19th -- and by passing health care, the Democrats saved their brand. A few months ago, Sarah Palin mockingly asked them, "How's that hopey-changey thing working out for ya?" Great, actually. Thanks for asking. And how's that whole Hooked on Phonics thing working out for you?
