This morning, Ratchet was on his way to SPCA International rescue experts at the Baghdad Airport to be flown home to Gwen's parents in Minneapolis, MN when Sgt. Beberg's commanding officers ordered Ratchet confiscated and held in Iraq to face certain death.

I am pretty sure we can find homes for these furry feline love buckets...I still believe that the best people on the planet are right here on Care 2, aand if have a friend..who has a friend..well...who knows...Miracles have been known to just about come from the best people on the planet...*S* I lost my 2 oldest feline companions in JUuy, both in the same week..and it just about did me in for awhile. If it wasn't for all of you to support me during this time...I probably would have just not come back to Care 2 at all. But there you all are in all your finest...ever strong and full of love and hope...to give a hand to those that need it...*s* Of that I have no doubt whasoever....*S*

    This is the saddest dog I personally have seen. When they wheeled him out, tears just streamed down my face. He is emaciated in the true sense of the word and his eyes were just full of fear.

    This poor boy is in really bad shape. We had only seen his face in the shelter picture, and his poor body tells the whole story. He was to week to walk, they had to wheel him to my car.

    No one at the shelter knew his story, but someone let this dog get this way. This angers me more than you know. How could people be so cruel.

    Phone call came in from Medical Director and he is on fluids, has had blood panel and xray of belly. All is clear and most levels normal and able to function and there is not organ damage at this point. It appears that he has a functioning liver and pancreas (only so many tests can be done at this point).


    Possible liver shunt but that test cannot be performed until he has eaten, which he has not in days.


    He needs a blood transfusion as well as a plasma transfusion which I've already agreed to do banking on the fact that I can raise these funds for him... his blood is very thin and he cannot stand a chance of recovery without this. Only then will we know what his prognosis is, which will be in about 48 hours... minimum cost is $1500 in addition to the other emergency care... I think he's worth it and hope you do too, enough to crosspost and share with your colleagues and friends.

    For many dogs this means a lethal injection. Many have already been transported off and were never seen again …

    Dear Regina,

    I was at home in Boise when I heard the news Friday: A federal judge has restored endangered species protections for wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the Northern Rockies.

    The ruling by a district court judge in Montana could save the lives of hundreds of wolves by stopping this fall's planned wolf sport hunting seasons in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

    I want to thank you for the crucial role that caring people like you have played in this initial victory.

    It’s a huge win that couldn’t have happened without the thousands of Defenders activists and donors who have worked to support our efforts here in the Northern Rockies by contributing money to our Wolf Legal Defense Fund, supporting our on-the-ground work and much more.

    But we still have a long fight ahead of us.

    Idaho Governor C.L. Butch Otter -- who said last year that he wanted to be one of the first in the state to shoot a wolf -- immediately criticized the judge’s ruling to restore protections for wolves. Wyoming’s Governor has vowed that his state will fight the ruling.

    Idaho Anti-Wolf Coalition leader Ron Gillette was even more direct, telling a local reporter that "[i]t is going to be all-out war."

    Rest assured, Defenders of Wildlife will keep fighting for wolves in Greater Yellowstone and the rest of the Northern Rockies by continuing to...
    • Make the case in court to restore full protections for these endangered wolves;
    • Pay for guard dogs, range riders, turbo fladry fencing and other non-lethal wolf management strategies to keep livestock and wolves safe; and
    • Combat distortions and misperceptions about wolves to build tolerance and understanding for the vital role that wolves play in healthy ecosystems.

    Regina, we have a tough fight ahead of us. For now, please accept my sincere gratitude for all you’ve done to help us save wolves.

    These are just two of many shelter kittens I volunteer with that desperately need homes.



    They've been here too long and are tired of living in a little cage, can someone rescue them and give them a loving home?

    They are in Houston, TX and I'll be happy to show you any of them, just send me an email.

    1 1/2 yrs.
