When Americans come knocking …

Since the shootings took place in Tucson, I have heard the left ranting and raving against Governor Sarah Palin, talk radio and other conservative pundits in America. Liberals have been like bulldogs fighting over a bone with their scratching and screaming assault on free speech in America.

None of us in the middle or the right of political ideology should be surprised.

None of us in the middle or on the right should expect them to take an inch of responsibility for the mess America now finds itself.

The fact that the Left promoted and anointed such an inexperienced person to the White House, and most Americans fell for this bought and paid for production is enough to make any sane person scream.

So my question is when are YOU, the average American, going to finally believe that you have more brains and commonsense in your little finger than most politicians, past and present? Do you now understand that the 'good ole boys' network in America is destroying your country and that you, via your vote and your inability to credit yourself for having a brain has aided and abetted this situation?

When describing a 'commoner' aka, Governor Palin, as 'too stupid for words,' the old guard – on both sides of the aisle – demonstrates its disdain for the average American. It comes from the Left and the Right because they all know better than any of you how to keep you at each other's throat by useless diversionary tactics and groundless accusations. They know better than you and always will what is good for you so you can just sit your arse down and shut up.

That's the goal. It's what both sides of the aisle want. Either that or they want you to fight with each other. Even better, the Washington ‘elites’ have found a smokescreen that is far more effective: instead of calling you dumb, they can demonstrate how dumb you are by manufacturing a fight or a crisis and then stand back snickering in the corner while you all go at it like high school kids. It’s been like the worst play ever produced in your country pitting American against American.

Political goals are no longer about differences in political ideology; it is now about Right and Left. They no longer care about what is good or bad for America; it must be about American hating American. Disagreement is not allowed anymore. Hate is the goal and so far, they are winning.

From my view here in the North, I cannot help but wonder why, YOU the average American, have no trust in yourself? Do YOU think you are stupid? Too dumb to know right from wrong? Top from bottom? Fiscal responsibility as opposed to a one way train trip to bankruptcy? That is where
America is headed and BOTH parties have dragged your country down this road without much protest from the average American.

Content they were that you were ‘dumbed down’ enough and fighting with each other so you would be distracted and just sit down and shut up. Americans, stay out of the way of the elites who know how you should live your life, run your country and interpret your Constitution the way they want to for you. You are too dumb to do so, you know. Where is your diploma from Harvard or the likes?

There is one organization that has stood up and is still standing up to the elites and that is the Tea Party Groups. A wonderful organization of Americans of all colours and all political thinking who are taking action behind the scenes to change the way things are being done in your country. If you are not a member, you need to get up off your couch and find a group to join. This is a turning point in the history of your country and you can be a part of the change or continue to be a part of the problem. Its time to roll
America! It's time to show the powers that be just how dumb you really aren't.

Lastly, for those of you with Palin Derangement Syndrome (PD, Governor Palin is an American who knows how to be a leader. Palin leads by example. She may not be a Harvard grad, but she is fast getting an education from
America’s political arena of hard knocks. People keep trying to knock her down and she keeps taking the blows.

I give kudos to a real American who loves her country and the people in it. A real politician who knows that the hearts and minds of all good Americans is what will help her save the country she loves. You see, she understands that Americans are not dumb. They were just put to sleep by all the garbage ya'll have been tossing their way for a few years now. In the end, there is nothing dumb about Americans when they gather together under their flag and start their march to take their country back. That began a year or more ago and they are still marching.

When American patriots come knocking on your door, all of you who tried to dumb down your fellow country men and women, look for Palin walking right beside them. Not in front of or behind, but side by side because that in the end is what true leadership is all about.

Just a view from my side of the border.

Who Are The 81 Socialists In Congress?
Introduction:

Before we answer the question posed above, it is vitally important to understand that those within the radical left
wing movement in America today no longer call themselves “socialists” or “communists” (or even “liberals” in some cases).

The radical left wing has rebranded itself as the “Progressive Movement” and &ldquorogressives” are presently operating at the highest levels in our government and advancing their socialist ideology, while shielded from the vilifying labels of “communism” and “socialism”. Why was rebranding necessary? Why do socialists and communists now call themselves &ldquorogressives”? Part of the answer can be found in a recent PEW Research Center survey which indicated that 68% of Americans react positively to the word “Progressive” while only 23% have a negative reaction. On the other hand, 59% of Americans have a negative reaction to the word “Socialism” while only 29% have a positive reaction to the word.

But don’t be confused by the name change. Slick marketing does not change the fact that the terms “Progressive” and “Socialist” are virtually synonymous in politics today; nor does it change the fact that the most prominent manifestation of the socialist (progressive) political machine today, the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC), presently holds the reins of power and constitutes the largest voting block of Democrats

in House of Representatives. This group of 81 representatives and senators has deep and long-standing ties to the socialist movement in America and is presently pushing its Marxist agenda into legislation, strategically dismantling the constitution in the process.
_______________________

“In more recent years, the Congressional Progressive Caucus has gone
underground in respect to their connection to the Democratic Socialists of
America. Their roster is no longer published on the DSA website and they no
longer publicly acknowledge their loyalty to the socialist organization.”
– Jeremiahproject.com [1]
_______________________

The most recent example of pushing this Marxist agenda into legislation is the passing of the so-called health care reform bill. CPC members pushed this bill, nurtured it and rammed it down our throats through parliamentary trickery in the dark of night… not to reform health care, but rather, to transform the United States into a socialist country. Throughout the rest of this report, we will examine the history and membership of the CPC (and a complete list of CPC members can be found at the conclusion of this report).

We will expose the CPC’s deeply held socialist beliefs, and its close ties to the Democratic Socialists of America, (DSA) a group committed to neo-Marxist ideology. We will also expose the CPC’s role in the dangerous, and perhaps treasonous, global socialist movement, and the CPC’s ties to Socialist International (SI), whose members seek world domination.

              The Congressional Progressive Caucus –
                               A Socialist
Collective:

As previously mentioned, the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) is perhaps the most powerful, caucus within the United States Congress with over 80 declared members, and works to advance progressive issues and positions.

The Caucus is co-chaired by Representatives Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ) and Lynn Woolsey (D-CA).

Of the 20 standing committees of the House of the House of Representatives, 11 are chaired by members of the CPC. [2]

The CPC’s founding statement highlights a list of bold initiatives that are intended to consolidate power, out of the hands of citizens and into the grip of the government, and centralize the planning of our economy.

The founding statement of purpose also calls for so-called “social justice” and promotes the redistribution of wealth through higher taxation on corporations and wealthy individuals. Of course, placing such an unfair burden on successful companies is merely a means to an end.

Ironically, the ultimate purpose of such wealth redistribution is not to level the playing field for all Americans, but rather, to strangle productivity and legalize government meddling in all major industry, as we are currently seeing in the auto, banking, and oil industries. In short, the ultimate purpose is control. Another goal outlined in the CPC’s founding statement is the re-allotment of military spending. At a time when our enemies are more determined and focused than ever, the CPC intends to weaken our military presence in the world. This makes perfect sense from the perspective of the larger goal of installing a global socialist regime to manage the affairs of the world. And for that to happen, the American military must be subjugated to the demands of the “common global good”.

Another tenant of the CPC is to create an ever-growing government that seeks to control the everyday lives of American families. The founding platform calls for a “substantial increase in federal funding for social programs”.

[2] Through instituting massive tax increases, the CPC seeks to control everything; the health care we receive… the food we eat… and even the manner in which we worship. Exemplified by the current government takeover of health care, this faction of congressional leaders is succeeding in penetrating into key facets of our lives. It has begun its intrusion into religion by seeking to legalize the perversion of marriage and criminalize speech which runs counter to the radical homosexual political agenda. This is also obviously a pruning of the cherished tenant of free speech. The non-profit organization most closely associated with the Congressional Progressive Caucus is the American Progressive Caucus Policy Foundation, which works to connect the caucus to progressives outside the Congress.

Although officially bi-partisan, the group’s mission is to raise funds and support progressive legislation in the House of Representatives. [2] Additionally, the CPC is also populated by members of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), whose agenda is markedly anti-capitalist, and ironically neither Democratic nor American.

The History of the CPC:

The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) was established in 1991 by six members of the United States House of Representatives:
Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Ron Dellums (DCA), Lane Evans (D-IL),
Thomas Andrews (D-ME), Peter DeFazio (D-OR), and Maxine Waters (D-CA).

The founding members reasoned their agenda was necessitated by the economic hardship imposed by the deepening recession. What better apparatus to use than the Democratic Party to advance the directives of the DSA? The CPC may soft-pedal its Socialist ideology in the new Congress, but a 1999 position paper on economic inequality clearly shows their rejection of capitalism and the free market.
                             _______________________

“On November 11, 1999, the Progressive Caucus drafted its Position Paper on economic inequality. It reads, in part, as follows: ‘Economic inequality is the result of two and a half decades of government policies and rules governing the economy being tilted in favor of large asset owners at the expense of wage earners. Tax policy, trade policy, monetary policy, government regulations and other rules have reflected this pro-investor bias. We propose the introduction or reintroduction of a package of
legislative initiatives that will close America’s economic divide and address both income and wealth disparities.’”[3]
_______________________

And clearly, CPC members in Congress have already taken advantage of the current financial crisis to push for the regulation of major industries, Wall Street, our health care system, the auto industry and seek to control just about every other industry through the promoting of so-called Cap and Trade legislation.

In 2005 the Progressive Caucus crafted its “Progressive Promise” document… a document which advocated the following positions:

-Establishing universal, government provided health care.
-Trade agreements that favor the rights foreign workers over Americans.
-The right of all workers to organize into labor unions and engage in collective
bargaining.
-The abolition of the USA PATRIOT Act.
-The legalization of same-sex marriage.
-A complete pullout from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
-An increase in income tax rates.
-An increase in welfare spending by the federal government.

As you can readily see, many of these positions are being transformed into policy right before our very eyes; and additionally, these positions are extremely similar in scope and posture to those of the DSA.

The Democratic Socialists of America

The CPC has deep connections to the Democratic Socialists of America and openly promotes its ideology. The DSA is the socialist organization in America today with thousands of members working to bring about the end of our republic as we know it. In 1999 WorldNetDaily.com reported that the DSA hosted the website of the CPC.

Within days of the publication of this report, the CPC removed its site from the DSA server and information connecting the organizations was then washed from the websites of the CPC and DSA. Despite this cursory attempt to distance themselves for one another, the DSA and the Progressive Caucus remain intimately linked.

Seventy of the 83 Progressive Caucus members also belong to DSA. [4]

Don’t be fooled by the use of the word “democratic”. It is really nothing more than a red herring meant to distance this socialist movement from its true leftist roots. Since the turn of the twentieth century, the socialist movement in American has stumbled forward achieving some small measure of success, at various times, in fits and starts. Of course, left wing radicals have never had an enduring socialist organization in America. The DSA was formed in 1983 from the merger of two foundering socialist groups, The New American Movement (NAM) and The Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee (DSOC).

To go even deeper and really take the mask off of the DSA, to reveal its true colors, we must also take a look at a group called Socialists International, (SI). The DSA is the American arm of this world-wide organization. Its agenda is basically to install a one-world order to manage global trade and environmental resources and impose
its will on all people regardless of national or regional government. “Ever since its inception in 1951, the Socialist International has made cosmetic efforts to distance itself from communist socialists. It continues to do so, sprinkling its calls for socialism and global governance with assurances of support for ‘democratic’ principles. However, its democratic bona fides and its supposed opposition to totalitarian socialism are as threadbare today as they ever have been.”

NewAmerican.com [5]

Bolstered by the ear of a sympathetic regime which has usurped the White House, SI now has tremendous influence… the likes of which it has never enjoyed. In addition to the White House, SI, through the CPC, has the ear of more than 30 percent of the Democratic Majority in the House of Representatives… almost 20 percent of the entire House of Representatives.

Who Are The Socialists In Congress?

Some of the key players (past and present) in this hostile group (the CPC) are profiled below.

Nancy Pelosi was the chair of the CPC until she was elected Speaker of the House. She is also a member of the DSA. Pelosi’s record attests to her anticapitalist, pro-union positions, winning her a 93% approval rating from the ACLU. Her socialist leanings are clear. Consider the following comments Pelosi made on property rights during an appearance on Meet The Press which are summarized below in an article appearing in Human Events.

[According to Pelosi] If we put offshore drilling on the table, we get to put a whole lot of other issues on the table, like tax breaks for oil companies, and even levying new taxes on oil companies for using the oil that “belongs to the American people.” She went on and on for 5 minutes talking about how these oil companies profit off of oil that “is the American people’s”... Nancy forgot, this country is based on ~240 years of PROPERTY OWNERSHIP, including mineral rights. [6]

Bernie Sanders is the mastermind and founder of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and a self-described socialist. In 1990 Bernie Sanders, who ran for local office previously as a Socialist, was elected to the House of Representatives as an Independent. Sanders served eight terms in the House. In 2004 he won 69% of the vote against Democratic and Republican challengers and was elected to the senate. Just before his election to the U.S. Senate, again, as an Independent, the 65-year-old New York transplant was asked by a Washington Post reporter: “Are you now or have you ever been a Socialist?” Sanders replied, “Yeah. I wouldn’t deny it. Not for one second.”

Barak Obama is no longer an official member of the CPC since he is no longer a Member of Congress. Obama’s socialist backing was a significant factor in his meteoric political rise. As reported by Cliff Kincaid with Accuracy in Media.

“Obama's socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat .... Obama's stint as a "community organizer" in Chicago has gotten some attention, but his relationship with the DSA socialists, who groomed and backed him, has been generally ignored.” [8]

Conclusion

With the sweeping changes that are coming about, forced on us by left wing ideological radicals who have taken over our government, it is easy to give up hope and believe that we should barricade ourselves in a compound with muskets and provisions. However if the people of America who believe in the founding principles of this country… who believe in the ideals of personal and religious freedom… who believe in the God given rights of liberty… can realize the true socialist threat that confronts us, we can expose it for what it truly is and defeat it. So feel free, now that you have this exclusive report, to distribute it widely. Print it out and share it with your friends and associates. Email it to those that you know. Together, we can spread the truth and the Truth shall set us free.

Organizations Promoted On The CPC Website There’s an old expression; you are known by the company you keep. The organizations listed below are listed on the CPC website as movers-and-shakers within the &ldquorogressive political arena”. While most of them are obscure, some names such as ACORN, the NAACP, MoveOn.org, LaRaza, the ACLU, Amnesty International, Norman Lear’s People for the American Way, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the AFL-CIO, the Sierra Club and a host of others are well known.

The listing of others, such as the American Library Association, might even surprise you. Again, the inclusion of these fellow travelers is not exhaustive, nor is it based on the personal opinions of the writers and publishers or this report. The organizations below are prominently listed on the CPC website as organizations which promote the “progressive” agenda.

Alaska’s state personnel board not only dismissed a appeals filed by constant complainer and Palin hater Andree McLeod but went on to castigate McLeod by saying it appears she has a personal vendetta against Palin! In doing so, McLeod revealed herself to be rather unbalanced, combative, and a total crack-pot who has cost the state of Alaska close to a million dollars via her hate.

McLeod and her cronies should be forced to pay the costs of the investigations and make reparations to Sarah Palin.

“…At a meeting Wednesday, board member Al Tamagni called Andree McLeod a chronic complainer and said she appears to have a personal vendetta against Palin.

McLeod accused Tamagni of being complicit in what she called a culture of corruption, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

“For anyone to even criticize a person like myself who wants to file complaints and does so and then call me a serial complainer and then complain about the cost? What is the cost of corruption? What is the cost of the culture of corruption that you are now complicit in, of the Palin-Parnell administration? Can you answer that Al?” McLeod said….Tamagni told McLeod “it appears like you have a personal vendetta.” McLeod responded angrily, “How dare you. How dare you, Al.”

At one point, board chairwoman Debra English threatened to call security, saying McLeod was not acting professionally.

Tamagni said the board has represented the general public, followed the law and “spent a lot of taxpayer money, probably a little over a third of a million dollars or more. So I think we also have a responsibility to the taxpayers of this state.”

McLeod said she’s keeping government accountable and common sense shows that Palin’s personal interests have been kept above the state’s interests.

“It’s still going on by you guys defending it,” she said. “That’s a culture of corruption.”

Tamagni took offense to the inference that he’s corrupt.

“You’d better retract that because there’s complaints that could be filed against you too,” Tamagni said.

“A board member has now threatened me,” McLeod said. “Have at it.”…”

Our Obama AKA Pierre Elliot Trudeau burst on to our political scene in Canada in the late 1960's. There were things we did and did not know about this man but I believe that if we would have had the internet – and learned about his associations and where his base of beliefs came from he would not have gone very far. He was a very good orator. Could talk the birds out of the tree and was our pied piper of social programs .……

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pierre_Trudeau

'Trudeau was a charismatic figure who, from the late 1960s until the mid-1980s, dominated the Canadian political scene and aroused passionate reactions.'

Trudeau was interested in Marxist ideas in the 1940s and his Harvard dissertation was on the topic of Communism and Christianity. At Harvard Trudeau found himself profoundly challenged as he discovered that his "... legal training was deficient, [and] his knowledge of economics was pathetic. Thanks to the great intellectual migration away from
Europe
's fascism, Harvard had become a major intellectual centre in which Trudeau profoundly changed. Despite this, Trudeau found himself an outsider - a French Catholic living for the first time outside of Quebec in the predominantly Protestant American Harvard University. This isolation deepened finally into despair and led to his decision to continue his Harvard studies abroad.

In 1947 he travelled to
Paris
to continue his dissertation work. Over a five week period he attended many lectures and became a follower of personalism after being influenced most notably by Emmanuel Mounier. [18] The Harvard dissertation remained undone when Trudeau entered a doctoral program to study under the renowned socialist economist Harold Laski in the London School of Economics.[19] This cemented Trudeau's belief that Keynesian economics and social science were essential to the creation of the "good life" in democratic society.”

His socialist values and his close ties with Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) intellectuals (including Frank Scott, Eugene Forsey, Michael Oliver and Charles Taylor) led to his support and membership in that federal social democratic party throughout the 1950s (after taking over our Liberal party) Trudeau soon called an election, for June 25, 1968. His election campaign benefited from an unprecedented wave of personal popularity called "Trudeaumania" which saw Trudeau mobbed by throngs of youths. (I was a youth back then and part of that mob! First time I ever voted!).

So this was our Obama – our pied piper of socialism and social programs. If the majority of Canadians had been informed on what his political background was – or had been able to find out about it – this man never would have made it past the front doors of our parliament. But we did not know – and so here we are today. Sure was a lot about Obama no one knew about.

When Trudeau (Liberal = Democrats) took office in 1968 Canada had a debt of $18 billion (24% of GDP) which was largely left over from World War II but when he left office in 1984, that debt stood at $200 billion (46% of GDP), an increase of 83%. He promised us that the rich would pay but the majority population in any country is the middle class. It is where most of the money to keep our governments running comes from because we are the majority of the population. We were so taken with his ideals and his charisma we lost our common sense!

Our politics are complicated here – we do not elect our ‘President’ as you do there – the party who wins the majority of seats in our Parliament becomes the government and the leader of that party our ‘President’. Unfortunately this does not always give them a majority of members to hang on to power in the government.

Those of us who finally found our common sense knew we were getting into trouble here with the social programs that had been brought in. We had one chance to turn the tide. In 1979 we managed to elect a fellow by the name of Joe Clark (Conservative = Republican) and his party into government kicking Trudeau out.
Clark
was not a very good speech maker and was kind of a homely little guy but he loved our country enough to base his campaign on truth. He told us what we needed to hear. Said we had to stop what was happening to the social program ideas being tried and our economy or the cost of what we were doing would catch up to our children.

Well he got kicked out when the other parties ganged up on his minority and you would have thought Joe would have won again but Trudeau was French – pandered to
Quebec. (Quebec is a beautiful Province in our country that is full of history and wonderful people but what happened there is another long story) Trudeau won votes in that Province by promising them many things and one of them was that Canada would become bilingual! Great idea! Another social program! Most of us spoke English but it was a promise he kept, Quebec gave him the votes. He won a majority government so now all of our Federal and Provincial government levels right across Canada had to become bilingual. Still are - once you bring it in you are screwed. Now we have to pander to all languages because social programs are a right once given to one - has to be given to all. By the way … my family is from Quebec
, very French and they agree 100% with me.

Our news stations have to give equal representation to all parties who are running in our elections. If you smear one side you better be able to smear the other … equal rights and all. Our government controls some of them (same way
Hollywood controlled yours) and the list of things they slowly have to take over now because of our social programs continues to grow – as does the debt. Trudeau did a lot of good things for our country on the world level for sure – but his ideals he flaunted and we followed in a herd because of the excitement he stirred in us all those years ago has trapped my country in a never ending circle of more restrictions, bigger social programs more and more debt and higher and higher taxes that everyone of us in the middle class here pays the bulk of. I don't know about America
but millionaires are not the MAJORITY of the population here. Common sense alone should have told us that years ago.

I used to think there was nothing
Canada could ever teach America. When I went to school the only history I really learned about was yours. But I was one of the herd who blindly followed our Obama. Even though we have lost a great deal over the years I am going to heard now. I am going to keep trying to reach out to every American (especially the young) who stands where I stood all those years ago. Just as the Obama train used this media to spread this garbage of an ideal around your country I am going to try and speak from experience.  I and many Canadians were you now. College & university students, young parents with children looking for a better future for our children, every other person who took something that appeared out of nowhere with everything wrapped up in a big red bow. We were looking in the wrong direction. We made a terrible mistake and we continue to pay for it in spades.

There is something we could teach America – if people would only listen.

Share the wealth! Yeah right!

The Art of Political War for Tea Parties – by David Horowitz

A specter is haunting America – the specter of a people rising. All across the nation Americans are waking up to the threat of a leftist elite determined to fundamentally change America, push through a socialist agenda, and make every citizen dependent on the state. The Obama machine is spending trillions of tax-payer dollars to finance their takeover of the American workplace and stifle the independence of the American people. But America is resilient nation, built on the principles of private property and individual freedom, and the resistance to their socialist plans has already begun.

In May 2009, just five months into the Obama administration, the people of California launched a tax revolt in the biggest spending state in the nation. So reckless were the leftist Democrats who run California (and have done so for as long as anyone can remember) that its deficit alone was larger than the budgets of most other states in the Union and of many of the nations of the world. Leftwing politicians don’t cut budgets; they propose new taxes. And California’s leftwing legislature did just that. But thanks to a constitutional amendment put in place by the California electorate through the state Initiative process, California legislators can’t raise taxes without a two-thirds referendum of the people. So they were forced to hold a special election in May to appeal to the electorate to pass five new ballot Initiatives to raise taxes.

But when the votes were counted, all five tax-raising Initiatives had been defeated by 60% margins. Even in San Francisco. A sixth Initiative designed by tax opponents to punish legislators who do not balance the budget passed by a more than 70% margin. Even in San Francisco. If one of the most liberal states in the Union is saying no to the soak-the-public philosophy of leftwing legislators, Obama socialism is in big trouble.

The revolt in California quickly spread to the entire nation through the efforts of the Tea Parties movement, the most innovative, exciting and powerful grassroots force in the history of American conservatism. It is vital to the health of this country that the Tea Parties movement grow. More to the point: it is essential to American survival that the Tea Parties movement succeed. On the eve of the 2008 presidential election, Barack Obama said “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming America.” The Tea Parties movement is the American people saying no to Obama’s plans for revolution.

A movement without an effective strategy for defeating its opponents cannot succeed. Therefore it is important to reacquaint ourselves with the art of political war.

While Democrats are morally bankrupt and clueless about policy – about what makes things work — they still win elections because they understand a simple fact: American politics is driven by the romance of the underdog, the story of the little guy who goes up against the system and triumphs in the end. It is a story about opportunity and fairness. To win the hearts and minds of the American voter, you have to tap the emotions the romance of the underdog evokes. Whoever does so has a winning edge.

America’s heroes are all cut to this common mold. Whether it is George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Davy Crockett, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Amelia Earhart, Jackie Robinson, Ronald Reagan or Colin Powell, the theme is always the same: The common man who rises against the odds. America’s political romance is “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington” to make things right. It is “Meet John Doe” who speaks for the voiceless. It is Luke Skywalker who saves the planet by using the good side of the Force to defeat the Empire. It is the odyssey of individuals who challenge power, overcome adversity and rise to the top. Everyone in America thinks of themselves as an underdog and aspires to be a hero.

The cause of the underdog wins American hearts because it resonates with our deepest religious and moral convictions of doing good and helping others. And because it is America’s own story. We began as a small nation, standing up to the world’s most powerful empire. We dedicated ourselves to the idea that all men are created equal. We are a nation of immigrants and a generous people who arrived with nothing and made fortunes in a new world. This is the American Dream.

It’s a story that will get you every time. But at election time, it’s the political left and the Democratic Party who know how to wield it as a political weapon, and Republicans and conservatives generally who don’t. Of course the Tea Parties have changed all that. And that is another sign that we are in an extraordinary political moment. The Tea Parties draw on the heritage of America’s own revolution as an underdog nation and are the voice of the people, oppressed now by their own government which is out of control and determined to crush them.

In positioning themselves as champions of the under-represented, neglected and oppressed, leftists employ a version of America’s story that they have manufactured through their grip on the media and the academic culture. They have transformed America’s story from an epic of freedom into a tale of racism, exploitation and domination. In their telling, American history is no longer a narrative of expanding opportunity, of men and women succeeding against the odds. Instead, it is a Marxist Morality Play about the powerful and their victims.

In staging their political dramas, progressives invariably claim to speak in the name of America’s alleged “victims.” Every policy of the Democratic Party is presented as a program to help these “victims”—women, children, minorities and the poor. Simultaneously, Democrats describe Republican policies as programs that will injure the weak, ignore the vulnerable, and keep the powerless down.

Republicans play right into the Democrats’ trap because they approach politics as a problem of management. To Republicans, every issue is a management issue—the utility of a tax cut, the efficiency of a program, the optimal method for running an enterprise. Republicans talk like businessmen who want a chance to manage the country so that it will turn a profit.

There is nothing wrong with instituting good policies and running things efficiently or turning a profit. But while Republicans are performing these Gold Star activities, Democrats are engaged in a different kind of drama. They are busy attacking Republicans as servants of the rich, oppressors of the weak and defenders of the strong. And enemies of “the people.”

Listen to Mario Cuomo describing Republicans to the Democrats’ 1996 National Convention:

We need to work as we have never done before between now and November 5th to take the Congress back from Newt Gingrich and the Republicans, because ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters, the Republicans are the real threat. They are the real threat to our women. They are the real threat to our children. They are the real threat to clean water, clean air and the rich landscape of America.

Mario Cuomo knows the language of political war.

Democrats connect emotionally with people’s fears and concerns. The appeal to help the underdog and defend the victim resonates with all Americans. This is because Americans are a fair-minded people. Most successful Americans came from humble origins themselves. They want to help others. They want everyone to have the chance to succeed.

So do Republicans and conservatives. But they rarely connect their policies and principles to this political romance.

There’s a good reason for this. Conservatives are busy defending the real America against the left’s attacks and the anti-American caricature they have constructed. Conservatives know that America is still a land of opportunity and freedom, and that nobody in America is really “oppressed.” (Otherwise, why would poor, black, Hispanic and Asian minorities be desperately seeking to come here? Why wouldn’t they be leaving instead?)

But politics isn’t just about reality. If it were, good principles and good policies would win every time. It’s about images and symbols, and the emotions they evoke. This is a battle that conservatives generally lose.

In the romance of the victim, as progressives stage it, Republicans and conservatives are always on the side of the bad guys—the powerful, the male, the white and the wealthy. It’s easy to see how patriotism plays into this trap. Defending America is readily mis-represented as an attitude that says: “I’m all right Jack, so you should be too.” The left relishes the opportunity to smear patriots as members of the selfish party instead of as defenders of individual freedom.

Ann Coulter has described the motto of the left as this: “Speak loudly and carry a small victim.” For the Democrats, the romance of the victim stirs the souls of their supporters and energizes their base. Equally important, it provides the nuclear warhead of their political attack. Conservatives are targeted victimizers, and leftists as the champions of the oppressed. Learning how to turn this around will turn around the political war as well.

Going On The Attack

Fortunately, conservatives can use the left-wing attack against them. Contrary to the left’s view, America is not a land of victims. It is a highly mobile society, with a citizenry that aspires upwards through the system, not against it.

Conservatives can also turn the left’s oppression myth around, and aim its guns at them. In fact, using the romance of the underdog against the left is the best way to neutralize their attack.

The way to do it is to recognize that the most powerful forces obstructing opportunity for poor and minority Americans, the most powerful forces oppressing them, are progressives, the Democratic Party, and their political creation—the welfare state.

There is really nothing new in this idea. Conservatives already oppose the programs of the left as obstacles to the production of wealth and barriers to opportunity for all Americans. What is new is the idea of connecting this analysis to a political strategy that will give conservatives a decisive edge in battle—that will neutralize the class, race and gender warfare attacks of the political left.

The Principles

Here are the principles of political war that the left understands but conservatives do not:

1. Politics is war conducted by other means

2. Politics is a war of position

3. In political wars the aggressor usually prevails

4. Position is defined by fear and hope

5. The weapons of politics are symbols evoking fear and hope

6. Victory lies on the side of the people

Here are the principles explained:

Politics is war conducted by other means.

In political warfare you do not fight just to prevail in an argument, but to destroy the enemy’s fighting ability. Conservatives often seem to regard political combats as they would a debate before the Oxford Political Union, as though winning depends on rational arguments and carefully articulated principles. But the audience of politics is not made up of Oxford dons, and the rules are entirely different.

For starters, you have only 30 seconds to make your point. Even if you had time to develop an argument, the audience you need to reach (the undecided and those in the middle who are not paying much attention) wouldn’t get it. Your words would go over some of their heads and the rest would not even hear them (or be quickly forgotten) amidst the bustle and pressure of daily life. Worse, while you’ve been making your argument the other side has already painted you as a mean-spirited, border-line racist controlled by religious zealots, securely in the pockets of the rich. Nobody who sees you this way is going to listen to you in any case. You’re politically dead.

Politics is war. Don’t forget it.

Politics is a war of position.

In war there are two sides: friends and enemies. Your task is to define yourself as the friend of as large a constituency compatible with your principles as possible, while defining your opponent as their enemy wherever and whenever you can. The act of defining combatants is analogous to the military concept of choosing the terrain of battle.

Choose the terrain that makes the fight as loaded in your favor as possible. But be careful. American politics takes place in a pluralistic framework, where constituencies are diverse and often in conflict. “Fairness” and “tolerance” are the formal rules of democratic engagement. If you appear mean-spirited, nasty, or too judgmental, it will make the task easier for your opponent to define you as a threat, and therefore as “the enemy.” (See principle 4)

In political warfare, the aggressor usually prevails.

Conservatives often pursue a strategy of waiting for the other side to attack. In football this is known as a &ldquorevent defense.” In politics it is the strategy of losers.

Aggression is advantageous because politics is a war of position. Position is defined by images that stick. By striking first you can define the issues and your adversary. Defining the opposition is the decisive move in all political war. Other things being equal, whoever is put on the defensive generally winds up on the losing side.

In attacking your opponent, take care to do it right. Going negative increases the risk of being defined as an enemy. Therefore, it can be counter-productive. Ruling out the negative, however, can incur an even greater risk.

Position is defined by fear and hope.

The twin emotions of politics are fear and hope. Those who provide people with hope become their friends; those who inspire fear become enemies. Of the two, hope is the better choice. By offering people hope and yourself as its provider, you show your better side and maximize your potential support.

But fear is a powerful and indispensable weapon. If your opponent defines you negatively enough, he will diminish your ability to offer hope. This is why Democrats are so determined to portray conservatives as mean-spirited, and hostile to minorities, the middle class and the poor.

It is important to work away from the negative images your opponent wants to pin on you. If you know you are going to be attacked as intolerant and bigoted it’s a good idea to lead with a position that is inclusive and fair-minded. If you are going to be framed as mean-spirited and ungenerous, it’s a good idea to put on a smile and lead with symbols that project generosity and charity.

The weapons of politics are symbols evoking fear and hope.

Conservatives lose a lot of political battles because they come across as hard-edged, scolding, scowling and sanctimonious. A good rule of thumb says be just the opposite. You have to convince people you care about them before they’ll care about what you have to say.

When you do get to speak, don’t forget that a sound-bite is all you have. Whatever you have to say, make sure to say it loud and clear. Keep it simple and keep it short. (A slogan is always better). Repeat it often. Get it on television. Radio is good, but with few exceptions, only television reaches a public that is electorally significant. In politics, television is reality.

Of course, you have a base of supporters who will listen for hours to what you have to say if that’s what you want. In the battles facing you, they will play an important role. Therefore, what you say to them is also important. But it is not going to decide elections. The audiences that will determine your fate are audiences that you will first have to persuade. You will have to find a way to reach them and get them to listen. And get them to support you. With these audiences, you will never have time for real arguments or proper analyses. Images—symbols and sound-bites—will always prevail.

Therefore it is absolutely essential to focus your message and repeat it over and over again. Lack of focus will derail your message. If you make too many points, your message will be diffused and nothing will get through. The result will be the same as if you had made no point at all.

Leftists have a party line. When they are fighting an issue they focus their agenda. During legislative battles, every time a Democrat steps in front of the cameras there is at least one line in his speech that is shared with his colleagues. “Tax breaks for the wealthy at the expense of the poor,” is one example. Repetition insures that the message will get through.

When Republicans speak during legislative battles, they all march to a different drummer. There are many messages instead of one. One message is a sound-bite. Many messages are an indecipherable noise. The result of many messages is that there is no message.

Symbols and sound-bites determine the vote. These are what hit people in the gut before they have time to think. And these are what people remember. Symbols are the impressions that last, and what ultimately defines you.

Carefully chosen words and phrases are more important than paragraphs, speeches, party platforms and manifestos. What you project through images is what you are.

Victory lies on the side of the people.

This is the bottom line for each of the principles and for all of the principles. You must define yourself in ways that people understand. You must give people hope in your victory, and make them fear the victory of your opponent. You can accomplish both by identifying yourself and your issues with the underdog and the victim, with minorities and the disadvantaged, with the ordinary Janes and Joes.

This is what leftists do best, and conservatives often neglect to do at all. Every political statement by a leftist is an effort to say: “We care about women, children, minorities, working Americans and the poor.” And: “Conservatives are mean-spirited, serve the rich and don’t care about you.” This is the left’s strategy of political war. If conservatives are to win the political war we have to turn these images around.

We also have to make our campaigns a cause. During the Cold War, conservatives had a cause. They were saving the country from Communism. It was a cause that resonated at every level with the American people. The poorest citizen understood that their freedom was at stake in making sure that conservatives were elected to conduct the nation’s defense.

In a democracy, the cause that fires up passions is the cause of the people. That is why politicians like to run “against Washington” and against anything that represents the &ldquoowers that be.” As the left has shown, the idea of justice is a powerful motivator. It will energize the troops and fuel the campaigns that are necessary to win the political war. Conservatives believe in economic opportunity and individual freedom. The core of our ideas is freedom and justice for all. If we can make this intelligible to the American electorate, we will become the majority again and stop the socialist juggernaut that threatens our American future.

Don't you hate it when you talk to someone and you can't see who it is you are speaking to? Well, now you can see your Canadian neighbour and family.  Not all of my family is in this picture, but most of them are. It is this family that I love more than my own life that makes me try and reach across the border hoping to make friends who will listen and give consideration to what I have to say and what I have discovered.

You may want to know a few things about me. I am a born and raised proud Canadian and I love my American cousins.  My grandson likes to ask me "Grandpa, how old are you?" and I tell him "Older than dirt."  I was very liberal in my youth (Democratic) but am now fiscally conservative BUT I am an atheist, pro-choice, do not support late abortion unless there is danger of loss of life and do not like it when government gets involved in the personal choices adults make about their lives. If Tom wants to marry Tom and Jane wants to marry Jane that is fine with me as long as it is not me they want to marry. The greatest lesson I have learned in life is you cannot buy yourself out of debt and government giving hand outs instead of hand ups has never worked.

Some of what I have to offer you for your consideration is research done and posted by others over this past year that I have double checked. I will give you the links to where this information came from.  Some of what you need to listen to are the words of writers on the web I have asked permission of to re-print because it meant something to me. Call it "food for thought."

If there was ever a time in history that America needed its people to come to its defense the time is now. Your country is under attack from your own apathy, corrupt politicians, outside controllers who have no interest in seeing your nation remain the strongest in the world but are intent on destroying it - without a shot fired.

Your country is at a crossroads where you the American people will either stand up and fight for your Republic with the strongest weapons you have according to your constitution which is your freedom of speech ie: your voice and your vote or you will allow it to turn into a socialized democracy where freedoms are lost.

"As Benjamin Franklin was leaving the building where after four months of hard work the Constitution had been completed and signed, a lady asked him what kind of government did the convention create? A very old, tired and wise Benjamin Franklin replied, "A Republic ma'am, if you can keep it".

One of the easiest descriptions of what the difference between a republic and a demoncracy is I found at the following site many months ago:

http://www.timetracts.com/republic_vs.htm

Food For Thought:

Obama And His Connections:

In late 1988 Obama entered Harvard Law, upon the recommendation of Percy Sutton, a powerful New York politician. Why did Sutton pull strings for Obama? In an interview from "Inside City Hall, (youtube clip Obama and Khalid Mansour) Percy Sutton says he was introduced to Obama by Khalid Al-Mansour of Texas, "principle advisor to one of the world's richest men". Mansour talked to Sutton about Obama and asked Sutton to write a recommendation to Harvard, using Sutton's contacts. Percy Sutton wrote the letter to Harvard calling Obama a "genius".

Now who is this Khalid Al-Mansour, and who is this rich man he represents? Looking further, we have Africa Venture Partners announcement:

AVP WELCOMES DR.KHALID ABDULLAH TARIO AL-MANSOUR TO IT'S BOARD.

Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tario Al-Mansour is an internationally acknowledged advisor to Heads of State and business leaders in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and North America. He has been actively involved in structuring investments and joint ventures worldwide for over 35 years. Dr. Al-Mansour was also responsible for the Africa investment activities of Kingdom Holdings, Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal's investment company. During his distinguished career, Dr. Al-Mansour has been a guest lecturer at Harvard University, Bombay University, Columbia University, UCLA, University of Kenya, London School of Economics and the University of Ghana.

In addition to Africa Venture Partners, Dr. Al-Mansour sits on the Boards of: Saudi African Bank; Kingdom Holdings, Africa; Multimedia Super Corridor (Malaysia); Space Tech Inc.; AmNet Corp. International; New Avenues Fund Ltd; United Bank for Africa; United Networks; and Landmark Entertainment.

Dr. Al-Mansour has authored 24 books and is listed in Who's Who in the World; International Who's Who in the Arab World; Two Thousand Men of Achievement; Royal Blue Book of London; World's Who's Who of Intellectuals and American Hall of Fame.

Dr. Khalid Al-Mansour has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University (Phi Beta Kappa) and Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of California at Berkeley.

So now it gets interesting. Obama got his push behind the scenes from an advisor to a Saudi Prince. And not just any Saudi Prince. Prince Al-Walid bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud has an estimated net worth of US$29.5 billion, is the 19th richest person in the world, and is the second richest man in royalty next to the Sultan of Brunei.
So this Saudi Prince's advisor somehow or other takes an interest in Obama when Obama is an unknown. Why?

More to the point, would Mansour be likely to spend time and effort giving aid to an apostate from Islam?

More good stuff on Khalid al-Mansour at Newsmax: (1) Obama Had Close Ties to Top Saudi Adviser at Early Age, and Who is Khalid al-Mansour?

One especially interesting tidbit is that Khalid al-Mansour was originally named Donald Warden. As Donald Warden, he mentored Bobby Seale and Huey Newton, founders of the Black Panthers.

In the Congressional Record (page E824, April 23, 2007), Congresswoman Barbara Lee of California intoduced a bill honoring him for his work, and mentioning his prior name and connection to the Panthers:

Ms. LEE. Madam Speaker, I rise today to honor the African American Association. Throughout its extraordinary history, the Association has been known for promoting equality, diversity, social justice, and African American community empowerment. This year the Association celebrates the 45th anniversary of its founding.

The African American Association was first organized in the early 1960s by African American students at the University of California, Berkeley. Among the founding members were community leaders such as Khalid Al-Mansour (known then as Don Warden); future Judges Henry Ramsey and Thelton Henderson; future Congressman and Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums; and future Black Panthers Huey Newton and Bobby Seale.

The Association’s founding occurred in the midst of a turbulent time for African Americans and for our country. Malcolm X was fearlessly expressing his views on race relations. Many African nations were being liberated after years of colonial rule and oppression. The civil rights movement was gaining national momentum, and many young African Americans were feeling a newfound source of pride in their African heritage. A primary impetus for the group’s establishment was an interest in learning the real history of Africa and slavery in the United States. Not having the resources for a mass media campaign, group members took their message to where the people were: they took their message to the streets.

We now have a link (Mansour) between Obama, black radicals, and the Saudi royals

William Ayers and his father Tom Ayers

David Horowitz talked about Bill Ayers’ father getting Barack his job at Sidley/Austin. Also talked about Barack Obama planning his presidential run, at the Ayers/Dorn kitchen table.
Bill Ayers' father was VERY big in Chicago politics. The Ayers and Daleys are very close

We know that Ayers started Obama's political career, and is very influential in Chicago politics. What hasn't been really examined is HOW and WHY he's influential

The HOW and WHY is his dad Thomas G Ayers (1915-2007). Tom Ayers was President of Commonwealth Edison from 1964, and was chairman and CEO from 1973 to 1980. Besides that:

"He had a great social conscience and believed in breaking down the barriers that confronted so many people, particularly minorities and women," said James O'Connor, who succeeded Mr. Ayers as ComEd chairman. "Beyond what he did at Commonwealth Edison, he really set an example for other leaders in the Chicagoland business community to follow."

Mr. Ayers served on boards of nonprofit initiatives and chaired those of the Chicago Urban League, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Erikson Institute, Bank Street College of Education in New York, Community Renewal Society and the Chicago Community Trust.

While chairing the Northwestern University Board of Trustees, he helped start Chicago United, dedicated to racial minority group access to jobs and education. The project that made him most proud, son John Ayers said, was Dearborn Park, an integrated South Loop housing project, which he conceived and for which he raised funds.

With his sons deep in protest of the Vietnam War (one, Bill Ayers, was a member of the radical Students for a Democratic Society who went underground for about 11 years) the businessman supported his children and their campaign. "Our father always stood by us," John Ayers said. "He was an establishment guy, but he believed in us. He believed in change."

After the Board of Education's financial collapse of 1979, Mayor Jane M. Byrne named Mr. Ayers as her choice for president of the new board.

Bill Ayers' dad was a primary mover and shaker in Chicago politics, with strong ties to the Daley machine. Besides all the above:
He was the Chicago establishment, serving on the boards of Sears, G.D. Searle, Chicago Pacific Corp., Zenith Corp., Northwest Industries, General Dynamics Corp. of St. Louis, First National Bank of Chicago, the Chicago Cubs and the Tribune Co. Mr. Ayers was also an agent for change, negotiating between Mayor Richard J. Daley's administration and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s open housing campaign in the mid-1960s, and developing the Leadership Council for Metropolitan Open Communities to fight racial discrimination in housing.

And how exactly was Obama connected up the the Ayers in Chicago? I'm suspecting that his long association with Frank Marshall Davis in Hawaii had a lot to do with his decision to settle in Chicago. Per Davis's wiki entry: In 1927, Davis moved to Chicago, where he worked variously for the Chicago Evening Bulletin, the Chicago Whip and the Gary American, all African-American newspapers.[5][6] He also wrote free-lance articles and short stories for African-American magazines. It was also during this time that Davis began a serious effort to write poetry, including his first long poem, entitled Chicago’s Congo, Sonata for an Orchestra.

In 1935, Davis moved back to Chicago to take the position of managing editor of the Associated Negro Press[9], a news service for black newspapers, which had begun in 1919. Eventually, Davis was named executive editor for the ANP. He held the position until 1947.

During the Depression, Davis participated in the federal Works Progress Administration Writers' Project. In 1937, he received a Julius Rosenwald Fellowship.[10]

While in Chicago, Davis also started a photography club, worked for numerous political parties, and participated in the League of American Writers. With the encouragement of authors such as Richard Wright and Margaret Walker, Davis published in 1948 his most ambitious collection of poems, entitled 47th Street: Poems, which chronicles the varied life on Chicago's South Side.

Sometime during the period 1943-1945, Davis joined the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA), although he never publicly admitted his party membership. Davis published pieces in CPUSA-supported publications.[citation needed]

Davis used his newspaper platform to call for integration of the sports world, and he began to engage himself with community organizing efforts, starting a Chicago labor newspaper, The Star, toward the end of World War II. In 1945, he taught one of the first jazz history courses in the United States, at the Abraham Lincoln School[11] in Chicago.

I think Obama chose to move to Chicago to take advantage of the network of connections that Davis still had with the Chicago Left. Does anybody here doubt that there would be a connection between Davis and Ayers, given the connections between the Communist Party and the Weather Underground, particularly between black radicals like Davis and the Weather Underground coming from the Chicago Eight trial?

ACORN

While ACORN remains riddled in scandal, lawmakers have voted to cut off federal funding to the group, the U.S. Census Bureau has severed ties to the organization – and the White House has blasted its behavior as "unacceptable."

But just how extensive are President Obama's personal ties to ACORN?

The following is a timeline outlining some of the purported connections between the president and ACORN through the years:

1990s: Obama meets ACORN

ACORN, or the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, first noticed Obama when he was organizing on the far south side of the city with the Developing Communities Project. A March 2, 2008, Los Angeles Times article by Letta Tayler and Keith Herbert, titled "Obama Forged Path As Chicago Community Organizer," explored Obama's pre-law school days as a community organizer in Chicago and his efforts to build a partnership with Chicago's "Friends of the Parks."

"Obama's task was to help far South Side residents press for improvement," the Times article explained.

National Review Online noted, "Part of Obama's work, it would appear, was to organize demonstrations, much in the mold of radical groups like ACORN."

The Times article reveals that Madeleine Talbot, who at the time was a leader at Chicago ACORN, was thoroughly impressed with Obama because "he got people to vote with their feet."

"At the time, Talbot worked at the social action group ACORN and initially considered Obama a competitor," the article stated. "But she became so impressed with his work that she invited him to help train her staff."

Talbott personally led Chicago ACORN's campaign to intimidate banks into making high-risk loans to low-credit customers, Stanley Kurtz reported.

"Long the director of Chicago ACORN, Talbott is a specialist in 'direct action' – organizers' term for their militant tactics of intimidation and disruption," Kurtz writes. "Perhaps her most famous stunt was leading a group of ACORN protesters breaking into a meeting of the Chicago City Council to push for a 'living wage' law, shouting in defiance as she was arrested for mob action and disorderly conduct. But her real legacy may be her drive to push banks into making risky mortgage loans."

1992: Project Vote! and training green ACORNs

As WND reported, in 1992, while he was working as a community organizer in Chicago, Obama headed the Chicago operations of Project Vote!, an ACORN effort to register voters nationally. In Chicago, Obama had his biggest impact registering African-American voters on the city's South Side. However, Obama's "Fight the Smears" website disputes this, saying Obama "never organized with ACORN."

After completing his legal education at Harvard in 1991, Obama returned to Chicago to work on the voting project that developed directly out of a radical revolutionary strategy developed by two Columbia University sociologists in the 1960s. In what became known as the Cloward-Piven strategy, the tactic advocated a revolutionary approach to mobilizing the poor in the form of class warfare against capitalist forces viewed as exploiting labor and oppressing the poor. The Cloward-Piven strategy sought to apply the tactics of the revolutionary civil rights movement, including urban riots, to the poor as a whole, transcending interest-group politics defined by race to involve interest-group politics defined by class.

Kurtz wrote, Obama also "conducted leadership-training seminars for ACORN's up-and-coming organizers. That is, Obama was training the army of ACORN organizers who participated in Madeline Talbott's drive against Chicago's banks."

Obama's FIght the Smears website claims Obama "never organized with ACORN"

1993: Woods Foundation

In 1993, Obama joined the board of the Woods Foundation, a non-profit foundation which declares its goal to "increase opportunities for less advantaged people and communities by giving money primarily to not-for-profit groups involved in housing, the arts and other areas." Obama served along with Bill Ayers and remained on the board until 2002.

Pajamas Media reports that during Obama's time there, ACORN received grants of $45,000 (2000), $30,000 (2001), $45,000 (2001), $30,000 (2002) and $40,000 (2002) from the Woods Fund.

1994: Buycks-Robinson v. Citibank

As WND reported, in 1994, Obama, a graduate of Harvard Law School then fresh from his Project Vote! experience, represented ACORN in the Buycks-Roberson v. Citibank Federal Savings Bank case, in which ACORN pressed for Citibank to make more loans to marginally qualified African-American applicants "in a race neutral way."

After obtaining a settlement in the Citibank litigation, ACORN used its subsidiary organization ACORN Housing, a nationwide organization with offices in more than 30 U.S. cities, to push the group's radical agenda to get subprime home buyers mortgages under the most favorable terms possible.

1995: ACORN attorney in Illinois lawsuit

In 1995, Obama was hired as a lawyer for ACORN in a major lawsuit. As a lawyer with civil-rights law firm Davis Miner Barnhill & Galland, he sued the state of Illinois on behalf of ACORN to implement the federal "motor voter" law.

Also in 1995, as WND's Jerome Corsi reported, Bill Ayers co-founded the Chicago Annenberg Challenge with a $50 million grant program for the Chicago public schools. Ayers selected Obama to be the first chairman of the board of the Annenberg Challenge, a position Obama held for eight years, until 2003, a period during which Ayers remained active with the Challenge.

In his Wall Street Journal article, Stanley Kurtz wrote that the Annenberg project funneled money to through various far-left community organizers, including ACORN.

1996: New Party ties

As WND reported, newspaper evidence shows Obama was a member of the New Party, which sought to elect members to public office with the aim of moving the Democratic Party far leftward to ultimately form a new political party with a socialist agenda. While running for the Illinois state Senate in 1996 as a Democrat, Obama actively sought and received the endorsement of the New Party, according to confirmed reports during last year's presidential campaign.

According to Democratic Socialists of America documents, the New Party worked with ACORN to promote its candidates.

In 1995, the DSA's New Ground newsletter stated, "In Chicago, the New Party's biggest asset and biggest liability is ACORN.

"Like most organizations, ACORN is a mixed bag," the newsletter said. "One one hand, in Chicago, ACORN is a group that attempts to organize some of the most depressed communities in the city. Chicago organizers for ACORN and organizers for SEIU Local 880 have been given modest monthly recruitment quotas for new New Party members. On the other hand, like most groups that depend on canvassing for fundraising, it's easy enough to find burned out and disgruntled former employees. And ACORN has not had the reputation for being interested in coalition politics – until recently and, happily, not just within the New Party."

1997-2004: Illinois state senator

Obama meeting with ACORN leaders as an Illinois Senate candidate

In 1997, Obama became an Illinois state senator. ACORN national board member Toni Foulkes bragged of ACORN's long-standing relationship with Obama prior to his election in the 2003-2004 issue of Social Policy.

Foulkes wrote in "Case Study: Chicago – The Barack Obama Campaign":

ACORN noticed [Obama] when he was organizing on the far south side of the city with the Developing Communities Project. He was a very good organizer. When he returned from law school, we asked him to help us with a lawsuit to challenge the state of Illinois' refusal to abide by the National Voting Rights Act, also known as motor voter. .. Obama took the case, known as ACORN vs. Edgar (the name of the Republican governor at the time) and we won. Obama then went on to run a voter registration project with Project VOTE in 1992 that made it possible for Carol Moseley Braun to win the Senate that year. Project VOTE delivered 50,000 newly registered voters in that campaign (ACORN delivered about 5,000 of them).
Since then, we have invited Obama to our leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year, and, as a result, many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran for office. Thus, it was natural for many of us to be active volunteers in his first campaign for State Senate and then his failed bid for Congress in 1996. By the time he ran for Senate, we were old friends.

2005: U.S. senator

In 2005, Obama became a U.S. senator.

2007: From Obama's own mouth ...

On Obama's Organizing for America blog, Sam Graham-Felsen, a paid blogger, wrote about Obama's November 2007 speech to ACORN leaders:

When Obama met with ACORN leaders in November, he reminded them of his history with ACORN and his beginnings in Illinois as a Project Vote organizer, a nonprofit focused on voter rights and education. Senator Obama said, "I come out of a grassroots organizing background. That's what I did for three and half years before I went to law school. That's the reason I moved to Chicago was to organize. So this is something that I know personally, the work you do, the importance of it. I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work."
Again, on Dec. 1, 2007, Obama spoke at the Heartland Democratic Presidential Forum, a meeting for community organizing groups including ACORN. Obama received wild applause from the crowd as he promised that community organizing groups such as ACORN would help shape the agenda for his presidency.

Naked Emperor News posted the following video of his pledge:

He was asked, "If elected president of the Unites States, would you agree, in your first 100 days, to meet with the delegation of representatives from these various community organizations that campaigned for community values? Could they count on you in your first 100 days to sit down with them?"

Obama responded, "Yes. But let me even say before I even get inaugurated, during the transition, we're going to be calling all of you in to help us shape the agenda. We're going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America."

2008: ACORN endorses Obama

On Feb. 21, 2008, the Acorn Political Action Committee endorsed Obama over Hillary Clinton during the 2008 primaries.

During the presidential campaign, Barack Obama and his running mate, Joe Biden, insisted they had nothing to do with ACORN after the inner-city advocacy group became engulfed in controversy over voter-registration fraud.

But in August 2008, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported that the Obama campaign paid $832,598.29 to ACORN "offshoot" Citizens Services Inc. for "get out the vote" projects from Feb. 25 to May 17.

The newspaper revealed that Obama's payments to CSI for services were unusual: "For example, CSI received payments of $63,000 and $75,000 for advance work. Excluding the large payments to CSI, the average amount the Obama campaign spent with other organizations was $558.82 per check on more than 1,200 entries classified as advance work."

Anita Moncrief, former ACORN insider

According to the report, Citizens Services Inc. is headquartered at the same address as ACORN's national headquarters in New Orleans. A 2006 ACORN publication describes Citizen Services Inc. as "ACORN's campaign services entity."

In 2008, Anita MonCrief, a woman who worked in the Strategic Writing and Research Department of ACORN Political Operations and its affiliate Project Vote from 2005 through January 2008, said ACORN acted as an unofficial arm of the Democratic Party during the election and used cash operations to keep some financial transactions under wraps.

"It has always been a Democrat operation," she recently told WND. "They've never made any secrets about who they support. Their political action committees are usually set up to support these Democratic candidates."

She said political action committees support Democrat candidates, and the at the same time voter registration drives were being conducted, the group was putting out propaganda in communities telling people not to vote for Republicans.

According to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report, she further told a Pennsylvania court before the election that the Obama camp provided ACORN with a "donor list" that enabled Project Vote to solicit contributions from Obama supporters who had "maxed out" under federal contribution limits but who could surreptitiously give more to Obama's cause by donating to ACORN and its affiliates.

As WND reported, Project Vote, an affiliate of ACORN, is now suing MonCrief to the tune of $5 million.

2009: Criminal case against ACORN

According to the results of a congressional investigation done in July, ACORN was found to be rife with criminal activity.

A report from the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform states that ACORN "has repeatedly and deliberately engaged in systemic fraud. Both structurally and operationally, ACORN hides behind a paper wall of nonprofit corporate protections to conceal a criminal conspiracy on the part of its directors, to launder federal money in order to pursue a partisan political agenda and to manipulate the American electorate."

Since 1994, ACORN has received more than $53 million in federal funds, according to the report.

"Under the Obama administration, ACORN stands to receive a whopping $8.5 billion in available stimulus funds. Operationally, ACORN is a shell game played in 120 cities, 43 states and the District of Columbia through a complex structure designed to conceal illegal activities, to use taxpayer and tax-exempt dollars for partisan political purposes, and to distract investigators. Structurally, ACORN is a chess game in which senior management is shielded from accountability by multiple layers of volunteers and compensated employees who serve as pawns to take the fall for every bad act," the report said.

The report continued, "Lobbying is a substantial part of what ACORN does. It has endorsed Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH), Representative Albert Wynn (D-MD), and Representative Donna Edwards (D-MD). ACORN keeps donor records from the Clinton, Kerry and Obama campaigns with the intent to engage in prohibited communications. ACORN receives federal funding yet engages in improper lobbying. ACORN and its nonprofit affiliates do not have separate accounts. Neither ACORN nor any of its affiliates have properly reported their political activities to the IRS. These harms fly under the legal radar because the IRS rarely checks for compliance. The 'no substantial part' test is rarely enforced and the accounts of ACORN and its affiliates are illegally commingled."

ACORN became a hot topic during the 2008 presidential race because of Obama's ties to the group as well as its own admission that more than 400,000 of the 1.3 million voter registrations it claimed to have collected were not valid. ACORN registered 1.3 million new voters last year, and it is now under investigation in numerous states and faces voter fraud charges in nearly two dozen states.

The Obama administration selected ACORN to recruit counters for the 2010 Census, but the Census Bureau severed its ties with ACORN on Sept. 11.The Internal Revenue Service has also indicated that it is conducting a "thorough review" of its agreements with ACORN. According to Bloomberg, ACORN has has helped prepare about 150,000 free tax returns since 2004 for low-income families. Those returns have generated $190 million in tax refunds.

Cutting ties with ACORN?

Obama has tried to publicly disassociate himself from the group.

"The only involvement I've had with ACORN was I represented them alongside the U.S. Justice Department in making Illinois implement a motor voter law that helped people get registered at DMVs," Obama declared in one of the presidential debates.

"Now, with respect to ACORN, ACORN is a community organization. Apparently what they've done is they were paying people to go out and register folks, and apparently some of the people who were out there didn't really register people, they just filled out a bunch of names," Obama said.

"It had nothing to do with us. We were not involved," he declared.

Today, the House voted 345-75 to eliminate federal funding of ACORN after undercover videos showed counselors giving advice on tax evasion to a undercover reporters posing as a pimp and prostitute.

According to Fox News, the Defund ACORN Act prohibits any "federal contract grant, cooperative agreement or any other form of agreement (including a memorandum of understanding)" from being awarded to or entered into with ACORN. It also prohibits federal funds "in any other form" from being granted to ACORN.

The decision followed a Sept. 14 Senate vote to strip millions of dollars in federal housing funds for ACORN.

House Minority Leader John Boehner has called on President Obama to indicate whether he would sign a bill forbidding ACORN from receiving federal funding, the New York Times reported. The White House is now distancing itself from ACORN and its scandals.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs referenced the video that revealed ACORN employees giving illegal tax advice to a man and woman disguised as a pimp and prostitute.

"Obviously, the conduct that you see on those tapes is completely unacceptable. I think everyone would agree to that," Gibbs said. "The administration takes accountability extremely seriously."

However, Gibbs said he's unsure of whether Obama will ask Democrats to sever ties with ACORN.

"I don't know that I've had any discussion with him about that," he said.

The following letter, read on Glenn Beck's show, is rapidly circulating around the country. Americans everywhere identify with this 53-year-old woman. She has given us a voice. Once you read this, you will want to forward it to all of your friends...

GLENN BECK: I got a letter from a woman in Arizona . She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership:

"I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?
Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One: illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S, I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Two: the STIMULUS bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four: cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five: universal healthcare . I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six: growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven: ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight: redistribution of wealth . No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why -- what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine: charitable contributions.. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten: corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven: transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try -- please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me..

Twelve: unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now .
Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill.. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington . Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic freedom spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole d**n congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming."
