I just submitted a new short article on our Enhanced Reason blog & in Care 2, of course.

It is a true story from 1996 that is still a good example of why folks should not assume poor people "just need to get a job" or "ask for help" or "make better choices".

Please, spread this message far & wide to promote a better general awareness on these issues.

Peace & Blessings, Kathleen

The fraud within the welfare system is committed by a small minority... but is especially committed by many various providers. For cash assistance, with each added child the personal allotted amount goes DOWN. the large majority would LOVE employment!!!

It seems likely one economic senario will be headed our way in 2012 and it is difficult to know which one. Our U.S. monetary base has absolutely exploded over the last couple of years, and all that money filtered into the consumer hands, but now is being

The ancient recipe for this anointing oil, recorded in the Old Testament book of Exodus (30: 22-23) included over nine pounds of flowering cannabis tops, Hebrew "kaneh-bosm". Kaneh-bos sounds remarkably similar to the modern cannabis.

We are "enhanced" when we work together to do something greater than ourselves. We are "enhanced" because the power of many is stonger than the power of one. So we have a common goal to help "enhance" each other, and the more we care about others, the mo

Let's pretend we have an imaginary plot of land that is 10 acres by 10 acres that is completely self sufficient. Nothing enters or exits. We have some farmland, trees, a few animals, a spring supplying water, and two families with 4 adults and 6 children.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), per Wikipedia, is a United States federal statute that was signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010; however, for you and me, it is more than just an ordinary law.

As Mr. Dionne noted, King was far from the moderate that we now tend to view him. He was labeled an "extremist" and he took pride in that label. He made whites very uncomfortable back in 1963. He noted that whites seemed to value order over justice. Dr. K

My Dear Friends,

I have not meant to be rather neglectful for a quite awhile! I really DO read messages & news from you, yet don't always comment, etc. s some know, I've been deeply involved in earning higher degrees along with "overseeing" the well being of our family (now up to 13 grandchildren), & dealing with disabilities. More recently, I have been actively sharing news items with family & friends via Facebook. Now, I hope to begin sharing all items of interest there and here too.

Peace & Love, Kathleen R

Hi Friends,

A friend on another social network posted an article about climate change measurements. I see it has been posted on Care2 too by someone else. Well, I am trying help the non-believers become better informed with scientific sources (not political ones). Some people believe climate change is propaganda while still others believe the no-change perspective is the propaganda. I am seeking reliable scientific input for this debate.

Do you have reliable sources that I could "share forward" and help increase important knowledge?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

Kathleen R

Meet Nora Jeanmarie Miller, born Sweetest Day - 10/16/10, to my youngest son and his fiancee. He had proposed on Valentine's Day and then later that week she went to the ER with problems & learned she was pregnant. They decided to stick with a wedding date for next year so that they can plan ahead and enjoy it all. Nora has red hair like her paternal grandma and matrernal grandpa, so we're doing our share to keep it going~ LOL

Nora Jeanmarie was welcomed by 3 brothers: Thurston Ezekial, 10; Keigan Roger, 7 1/2; & Peyton William, 5. She is my 10th biological grandchild & 14th descendant and, of them, only one is a daughter and only two are granddaughters. All are deeply precious~of course!!!

Hello Friends,

I am especially interested in the views from foreignors. Although, if you are from the USA then tell me briefly which political party you are most aligned with. This poll is simply for my own curiosity because I like to know what a variety of others think when I am discussing various social issues.
YOUR RESPONSE WOULD BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED!!!!!  THANK YOU!!!

A local (low-income Appalachian region of OH) college has a program in a local high school that guides 8th graders to seniors to do well and go on to additional education after graduation. The funding was provided due to the observed need. ...The program has been very successful!! Now the govt may take away the funding because "the need no longer exists". OF COURSE, the need will quickly be obvious when funding ends!!!!! WHY stop something that works so well???? I would also suggest investing in our nation by providing more employment opportunities within the region for all these folks in poverty trying to get ahead with more edu & training, etc.!!!!

PLEASE, share your views about this situation.
