Heaven and Earth QiGong A New Day Begins With A Single Breath ('QiGong' is pronounced 'chee-gung' and can be translated into english on two levels. The first level is the basic exercise of breath and movement and is thus; 'qi'= 'breath' and 'gong'= 'work' - or 'effort'- In other words 'Breath-Work.' The second level of translation refers to 'qi' as 'energy' or 'life-force,' and could be presented as; 'Energy Work'- the difference between the two translations is about intention and level of experience.) This is a set that I developed over years of training and practice. I used it for many community center courses, as a 'drop in' session and also a regular addition to my traditional classes of qigong and taiji. This is the set I plan to offer as the weather improves and allows for outdoor classes, to anyone in the community and particularly those who attend the community dialysis unit, patients and staff, where I have had my life saved and have had a chance to restart my life. Heaven & Earth Qigong 1- Lifting the Plates- Standing in ‘Wu Chi’- Raise palms up to shoulder height, inhaling. Turn palms down and lower hands to waist height, bending knees and sinking to exhale. Rise and inhale, sink and exhale. 2- Turn and Reach- Keeping knees well bent, palms down in front of abdomen, turn to left, reaching with left hand and inhaling. Return to front, exhaling. Repeat on other side. 3-Join Heaven and Earth- Circle hands overhead to touch thumb and index finger of left and right hand together, inhaling. Arms come down to their full length, then bend over and touch the floor, exhaling. Inhaling up, exhaling down. 4- The Crane- With weight on left leg, raise left arm up, raise right knee and flatten right palm(down) while inhaling. Step into wu chi, shift weight to other leg while lowering arm and exhaling. Repeat on other side. Inhale and lift, exhale and shift. 5- Three Step Opening- Raise palms forward and up to bend elbows and touch shoulders, open elbows to sides, open arms to sides, palms up-inhaling. Return arms to shoulder width in front, turn palms down and lower hands-exhaling. 6- The Phoenix- Bend knees and shift weight to left leg, step right to widen stance. Touch thumbs and index fingers together, bend forward to touch floor, exhaling. Stand up, inhaling. Turn right and go down right leg with hands to right ankle, exhaling. Come up right leg inhaling and turn to center. Down center exhaling, up center inhaling and turn left. Etc. 7- Harvesting Qi- Wide stance, open arms wide and reach up to grasp the energy, inhaling. Sink and lower palms down to waist height, exhaling. 8- Support Heaven- Wu Chi stance. Interlock fingers, palms up. Raise palms above head, turning them upward and raise heels-inhaling. Lower hands to beginning as heels come down, exhaling. http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/HeartLight http://www.care2.com/c2c/group/MeditationStation Join us in either or both of these groups, if you feel so moved… LOVE ~LightLizard~

The Hemp Seed Oil Revolution saving mother and all children Ending the Illusion With the widespread recognition and acceptance of the effects of global warming and climate change, it is long past time that governments and industrialists took responsibility and be moved to make changes that would rectify generations of propaganda and abuse against the usage of hemp seed oil for the purposes of lubricating and running the internal combustion engine and all motor vehicles. Since the beginning of the industrial era and the invention of the internal combustion engine, mankind has been manipulated and coerced into the use of oil and gasoline as the sole fuel source for these vehicles and machines that have formed the economic foundation of our culture. The oil industries, governments and chemical giants collaborated in a wide-spread campaign to undermine, castrate and demonize the hemp seed oil industry in its infancy, in order to corner the huge market for their own selfish and greedy profit margins. We see the results of this from the pollution of our atmosphere to the conflicts in the Middle Eastern, oil-rich nations. In 1936, the film ‘Reefer Madness’ was the catalyst and springboard for the oil industry’s campaign. Coining the word ‘marijuana’ played strongly on the ignorant and bigoted Anglo-Saxon consumer, who would shun and reject anything and everything foreign, especially ‘Mexican.’ http://www.reefermadness.org/propaganda/essay.html It was genius, really, and the public still buys into the prejudice, gladly. The truth is, hemp seed oil comes from the male cannabis plant, which does NOT contain the levels of THC that are necessary to obtain a state of inebriation. Aside from its medicinal properties, which uses are many and varied, when processed correctly, hemp seed oil can lubricate and run internal combustion engines, motor vehicles, with no pollution resulting from the burning of and, for very, very little cost. Also, the fibres of the male cannabis plant are extremely useful and resilient in the production of clothing and many other products that are, at the moment, monopolised by the oil industry, to the detriment of the environment, and ultimately, everyone. It is long past time that changes were instituted in this sad state of affairs and the people woke up and challenged their political representatives to begin the process NOW. The time is short and the day is not as long as we think. Canadians, write to your ombudsman or party representative. Americans, write your congressional representatives. This is the way that changes are made in Parliament and in Washington. The written word moves even the stubborn, bigoted, and greedy. It is long past time that the governments were moved to research, process and distribute hemp seed oil. For the sake of the economy, the environment, for our children and their children’s children. Edmund Burke said ‘all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.’ It is long past time that something was done!

Empowering the Self Most people, given a choice, would likely prefer to live a life of meaning and purpose, as oppossed to the alternative. Having established this as a premise and in consideration of the infinite possibilities of human experience; the next step would be to define, for the individual, just what it is, what are the components that constitute the living of a meaningful life? A primary element of the foundation for a meaningful life would be a relatively reasonable state of health. A balanced condition of body, mind and spirit must be established and maintained in order for one to pursue meaning and purpose effectively. Clearly, the term 'reasonable state of health' -or- 'healthy' is relative and dependant on the individual's unique experience in life. One may have physical limitations and find a state of 'balanced living' through the pursuit of the mental and spiritual aspects of their life. Another might be burdened with intellectual challenges that prevent the development of the mental elements and find equilibrium through physical endeavor, or spiritual and philosophical focus. The relavent point is that regardless of one's weaknesses; with awareness and perserverance, one can achieve a more reasonable state of balanced living and health if they choose or desire such. It has been stated by wise beings and is worth repeating that 'a meaningful life is a life with purpose.' For many, the search for a purpose is a challenge that seems to be far beyond their reach to grasp. With attention, we can observe the multitudes that seem to live their lives without consideration of the fact that we can choose what kind of life we want, rather than following the lead of the majority who live in the fear of not having -or being- 'enough'. Comparing ourselves with others and how they are doing what they are doing; we will always fall short of the goal of living a life of meaning and purpose. This unconscious living is what continues the cycle of competition and greed that undermines the stability of relationships and causes all manner of suffering for humans -and all species- on our planet. The search for a meaningful life demands that we consider and acknowledge the premise that we CAN make a difference, that we CAN change the world most effectively by changing ourselves. With this conclusion we can see that we have taken the first step in the journey of a meaningful life and all that we need do is to walk forward.

Spiritual Calisthenics Lessons in Love The word 'love' is one of the most misunderstood and misused words in the entire english language. So many feel unloved and unloveable, so they tend to live their lives longing for that which they believe they lack, or are 'unworthy' of. Movies and novels fan the fires of romantic love as being the end-all and be-all of human existence. Romantic love is just a taste of what is possible when one opens their hearts to the beauty and glory of Life and the True Miracle that it is, and indeed, that we are as well! If you are curious about this all-pervasive love, let me tell you that I have come to see that what the masters say is true; that when we strip away all the armour and debris of our fears and doubts, when our ego is no longer driving our lives, all that is left is our essence, our core, and that core is LOVE and JOY. Here is an exercise for the curious to try. The doubtful need not bother. Their growth is insufficient, at this point, to comprehend the meaning of much, let alone these words. Stand in front of a mirror. Relax your face, let go of any tension in your forehead and around your mouth. Now, look deeply into your own eyes. After a few moments say to yourself, as seriously as possible; 'I LOVE YOU." Repeat the phrase numerous times. You may have different reactions as you perform this exercise. You will probably feel silly in the beginning, but with time and practice, it will really open you up to love, or at the least, will make you wonder-and perhaps find out- why you don't love yourself. Only when we are at peace within ourselves, can we live in peace with others. Now, another thing you can do is to tell people that you love them. It may be difficult at first, but as you continue you will find it easier. Eventually, you will find that it is true! We are all connected, after all, and as you grow and evolve spiritually you will see and feel that we do love one another deeply and always have. It's just our fear and egos that have prevented us from realising it! LOVE is the Highest Vibration that a Human can experience and exist within throughout the entire Multiverse. When we are living in LOVE our (human) vibration patterns become aligned with our Higher aspects (that exist on the Levels of Higher Vibration) and we literally are connected to the All through our LOVE. When we are unable to live in this state of LOVE, we find ourselves 'dis-connected' and fearful, miserable and unhealthy. In LOVE, ALL our needs are met, often in what we would call 'miraculous' ways! Really, there is no miracle at all! It is simply a principle at work that our feeble intellects cannot grasp and so, in our fear of the unknown; we give it a name to feel more comfortable. ('Miracle') THIS is The Law of the Multiverse and applys on ALL levels; LOVE is ALL! We are here to recognise and manifest that during this life of fear, struggle and pain. { 'When you can LOVE hell, you will be in Heaven!' (Thadeus Golas) } *LOVE* ~May Love flow from the rainbow of your soul and bathe your heart in all the colors of Joy!~ ~LightLizard~

Family Tradition The young girl watched her mother prepare a baked ham for the family dinner. She observed as her mom seasoned the meat, pre-heated the oven, and then, just before placing the ham in the roasting pan, she took a long, sharp knife and sliced off the end of the ham. After placing it in the oven, she wiped her hands and turned to her daughter. 'There' stated mother,'now you know how to prepare a ham the way our family has done for many generations now.' The daughter looked puzzled. 'What is it, dear?' Asked mother, 'is there something you don't understand?' 'Well' the youngster hesitantly began, 'I don't understand why you cut the end off of the ham before you put it in the pan...' 'Ah', replied mother, with a smile, 'that is the family tradition. That is how my mother, your granny, taught me!' 'But...' continued the girl, 'why? it seems like a waste of food. Don't you always tell me to not waste food?' Mother was getting a little tense with this questioning and she still had much to prepare for the meal. Sauces, dessert-and the dishes needed some attention, too! 'Well,' mother responded, 'you could always telephone your granny and ask HER why we do it that way. She would love to hear from you, I'm sure!' The girl went into the living room and did just that. 'Why, granny' she asked, 'did you cut the end off of the ham?' Granny told her, 'That my dear one, is how my mother taught me to do it. It is our family's tradition!' 'But...' the youngster persisted, 'why?' Granny was not the most patient person. It was easy to understand, with her age, arthritis and other health concerns. Granny, stifling her impatience, replied, 'Why don't you phone your Great Granny and ask her? She's just turned 104 years old and is still at the same rest home, as you know!' The young girl phoned her great granny. She asked her question, after the hellos and usual greetings; 'why did you cut the end off of the ham granny? Mom and granny don't remember!' There was a long pause and raspy breathing at the other end of the line. Then, a gentle, hoarse cackle as great granny finally gave the answer; 'Because' the ancient voice spoke through her laughter, 'the damn pan was too small!' *LOVE* ~LL~

Meditation Alpha a guided meditation Relax, sit upright, but comfortably. Breathe deeply through your nose, allowing the lower torso to expand first, as you inhale, the chest second. Let the entire torso relax and release as you exhale. Let go of tension in your back, stomach, chest, shoulders and face. Use the least amount of effort to maintain a comfortable, but relaxed, position and posture. Slow, soften and deepen the breath, gradually. Look at the image above for a few minutes. No judgement, no mental calisthenics. Imagine your thoughts are like wispy clouds in the spring sky. Your breath is the wind and it blows them away... Now, sit quietly for a few moments, and simply tell your brain to produce 'Alpha' waves. Let Go. *LOVE* ~LL~

So many men have complaints and critisisms of the so-called 'women's movement.' In Truth, it is men who manifested this 'movement' in the first place! It may have been 'inadvertantly', but, nontheless, we men are responsible for the birth of the women's movement by our desire to control and manipulate with fear, greed, guilt, force and self-centerdness, for so long in our history. Is it a coincidence that 'the Davinci Code' is the most popular book being sold right now? Or the 'Celestine Prophecy'- how it became a bestseller with very little effort on the author's part? There is a pressing need for people to come to terms that are closer to Reality than what they have allowed themselves to be manipulated and led by, for so long. The male-dominated world we have lived in for many centuries can only be termed 'unbalanced'- its time we men learned to embrace the Goddess energy. Most men have 'separation anxiety' from their childhood's separation from their mothers. This anxiety gets buried deeply and expresses itself in many, many scenarios that are not conducive to health, happiness or any form of peace. Embracing the Goddess energy will allow men to express what they have hidden away for so long; their sensitivity. How could one be 'abandoned' or 'separated' from the very Source of their being? 'we all come from the Goddess and to her we shall return- like a drop of rain flowing to the ocean...' -pagan chant ~May LOVE flow from the Rainbow of your Soul and bathe your Heart in all the colors of Joy!~ *Love*Light*Joy*Trust*Gratitude*Eternally* ~LightLizard~

I believe it is essential that all humans face the spectre of their inevitable 'death', in order to live a complete and fulfilled life. One simply can't live a life of joy and happiness thinking that it will one day be snuffed out like a candle in the wind. Not without living in denial. Since the Industrial revolution, humans have become so mind-oriented, so ego-centered, worshippers of logic and reason. Literally trapped in our thoughts. It is possible that religions were created to alleviate the dread and fear associated with the possibility of total extinction. It’s simply something we can't imagine; Nothingness. How can we, ('something') possibly contemplate nothingness? To try is to approach madness. Maybe it doesn't matter what -or how we believe it, as far as an 'after-life' goes. If we believe in nothing, extinction upon death, it’s very possible that we will live in a way that causes us to become cynical, sarcastic and even abusive, to our fellow humans. But, if we believe in Life after Life we may find it in our hearts to be more empathetic and sympathetic to our brethren, as we will feel more secure in our lives, our Destiny, so to speak.. If what we do NOW is all that matters, then we need to adjust our inner light to shine in LOVE. Anything else is a wasted life and a shame, indeed. 'We All Come from the Goddess- and to her we shall all return, like a drop of rain- flowing to the ocean....' -pagan chant "The spirit down here in man and the spirit up there in the sun, in reality are only one spirit, and there is no other one." -- The Upanishads We regard our lives as made up of an infinite number of separate bits and pieces. That is how our senses perceive our universe. But science has now affirmed what the sages always knew. The life force is the foundation of all, unseen and untouched though it may be. It flows through everyone and everything. It is impossible to exist separate and apart from the source of all creation. "Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world. The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same. Every wonderful sight will vanish; every sweet word will fade, But do not be disheartened, The source they come from is eternal, growing, Branching out, giving new life and new joy. Why do you weep? The source is within you and this whole world is springing up from it." -- Jelaluddin Rumi *LOVE* ~LightLizard~
