Ingredients
Makes 4
12oz (3 cups) (3/4lb) minced beef
4oz (1 cups) (1/3lb) raw potato, peeled and diced
1 small onion finely chopped
4oz (1 cups) (1/3lb) raw swede (rutabaga) (yellow/Swedish turnip) (alternatively parsnip), peeled and diced
Salt & pepper
Short crust pastry
12oz (3 cups) (1lb) flour
Pinch of salt
6oz margarine
12 tsps water (approx)
Method
Add marg in small pieces to flour and rub through fingers until no lumps and looks like breadcrumbs.
Add water, stirring with a round bladed knife.
Collect together with one hand and knead lightly to give a firm smooth dough.
Allow to rest for 15 mins.
Roll out to 8 inch rounds.
Mix together ingredients and divide between rounds.
Pinch together rounds and glaze with milk.
Place on a baking tray in a 425f oven for 15 mins.
Reduce heat to 325f for about 1 hour .
