Rio Rancho Police Chief Robert Boone is stopping the annual food and toy drive that supplies almost a third of the food donated to the Westside Pantry that is the Rio Rancho Food bank, by charging excessive fees for traffic control.

The 18th annual drive in November 2010 was charged a little over $2,000 for traffic control. Over $5,000 was the fee for the 19th annual food/toy drive on November 20, 2011.  The food drive organizers and the food bank cannot raise the money for 2012, as the money has to be paid months before the food drive to get a permit. This is indirect taxation.

Robert Boone says that police agencies that don't charge a fee are breaking New Mexico state law. He singled out the New Mexico State Police as being criminal, because the State Police does not charge charities for traffic control.

When asked why Rio Rancho does not use on duty police officers for traffic control, as the State Police do, and the Albuquerque Police Department does (APD is also named as a criminal enterprise, because they don't tax charity events that need traffic control and permits, including this event that goes through Albuquerque), Boone replied that he does not need to, because he's not breaking the law like other police agencies are.

We're in a transition of government-where the government is trying to stop the 99% from even raising money to help others.

The late news just announced that the feds filed an injunction that cancelled a Hispanic cultural event in Belen, NM. It raised money for college scholarships. It has been held on the fair grounds, and all food inspected, and food handlers trained and certified each year, and state food inspectors are on hand. It was supposed to be in 2 weeks. Apparently, they were told that everything would be red tagged, people arrested, and property confiscated.  People used this for family reunions-gatherings-

If the grinches can set precident in NM, they can shut down your states too.
