Many years ago, while watching a little TV on Sunday
instead of going to church, I watched a Church in
Atlanta honoring one of it's senior pastors who had
been retired many years...
He was 92 at that time and I wondered why the Church
even bothered to ask the old gentleman  to preach at
that age.  After a warm welcome, introduction of
this speaker, and as the applause quieted down he
rose from his high back chair and walked slowly,
with great effort and a sliding gate to the podium.
Without a note or written paper of any kind, he
placed both hands on the pulpit to steady himself
and then quietly and slowly he began to speak....
"When I was asked to come here today and talk to
you, your pastor asked me to tell you what was the
greatest lesson ever learned in my 50 odd years of
preaching.  I thought about it for a few days and
boiled it down to just one thing that made the most
difference in my life and sustained me through all
my trials.  The one thing that I could always rely
on when tears and heart break and pain and fear and
sorrow paralyzed me...the only thing that would
comfort was this verse..........
"Jesus loves me this I know.  For the Bible tells me
so. Little ones to him belong, we are weak but he is
 strong.....Yes, Jesus loves
me...The Bible tells me so."  When he finished, the
 church was quiet.
You actually could hear his foot steps as he
shuffled back to his chair. I don't believe I will
ever forget it.
A pastor once stated, "I always noticed that its was
the adults who chose the children's hymn 'Jesus
Loves Me' (for the children of course) during a hymn
sing, and it was the adults who sang the loudest
because I could see they knew it the best."
Senior version of Jesus Loves Me
Here is a new version just for us who have white
hair, or no hair at all.
For us over middle age (or even those almost there)
and all you others, check out this newest version of
"Jesus Loves Me".  It is quite cute, so read, sing and enjoy:"
Jesus loves me, this I know,
Though my hair is white as snow.
Though my sight is growing dim,
Still He bids me trust in Him.
Though my steps are oh, so slow,
With my hand in His I'll go.
On through life, let come what may,
He'll be there to lead the way.
Though I am no longer young,
I have much which He's begun.
Let me serve Christ with a smile,
Go with others the extra mile.
When the nights are dark and long,
In my heart He puts a song.
Telling me in words so clear,
"Have no fear, for I am near."
When my work on earth is done,
And life's victories have been won.
He will take me home above,
Then I'll understand His love
I love Jesus, does He know?
Have I ever told Him so?
Jesus loves to hear me say,
That I love Him every day.
If you think this is neat, please pass it on to
your friends.
If you do not pass it on, nothing bad will happen,
but you will have missed an opportunity to "Reach
out and Touch" a friend or a loved one.
God Bless Us All !!!

I believe-
that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.

I believe-
that no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in a while
and you must forgive them for that.

I believe-
that true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.

I believe-
that you can do something in an instant
that will give you heartache for life.

I believe-
that it's taking me a long time
to become the person I want to be.

I believe-
that you should always leave loved ones
with loving words. It may be the last
time you see them.

I believe-
that you can keep going
long after you can't.

I believe-
that we are responsible for what we do,
no matter how we feel.

I believe-
that either you control your attitude
or it controls you.

I believe-
that regardless of how hot and
steamy a relationship is at first,
the passion fades and there had
better be something else to take its place.

I believe-
that heroes are the people
who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done,
regardless of the consequences.

I believe-
that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I believe-
that my best friend and I can do anything
or nothing and have the best time.

I believe-
that sometimes the people you expect
to kick you when you're down,
will be the ones to help you get back up.

I believe-
that sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me
the right to be cruel.

I believe-
that just because someone doesn't love
you the way you want them to doesn't
mean they don't love you with all they have.

I believe-
that maturity has more to do with
what types of experiences you've had
and what you've learned from them
and less to do with how many
birthdays you've celebrated.

I believe-
that it isn't always enough to be
forgiven by others. Sometimes you
have to learn to forgive yourself.

I believe-
that no matter how bad your
heart is broken the world doesn't stop for
your grief.

I believe-
that our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are,
but we are responsible for who
we become.

I believe-
that just because two people argue,
it doesn't mean they don't love each other
And just because they don't argue,
it doesn't mean they do.

I believe-
that you shouldn't be so eager
to find out a secret.
It could change your life forever.

I believe-
that two people can look at the exact
same thing and see something totally different.

I believe-
that your life can be changed
in a matter of hours
by people who don't even know you.

I believe-
that even when you think you
have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you
you will find the strength to help.

I believe-
that credentials on the wall
do not make you a decent human being.

I believe-
that the people you care about most in life
are taken from you too soon

I know I haven't Blogged in a while!   I haven't been feeling real well.  And I have been real tired.  Probably due to my PPH!  So I haven't been online very much the past few days.
I  have been busy burning some of my pix from my computer onto CD's.  Well, the ones that I don't already have on CD's from my camera.
I didn't realize how many pix I needed to burn.  And I have had a good time looking back at all the pix of my grand babies when they were born and when they were tiny!  Some have really made me laugh, some made me cry. So I had to get up from the computer and take a break, but finally got through those sad snapshots!
When our little Alex was born, his head was mis-shaped from the birth, and it hurt me to look at our sweet baby!  So I asked the nurse in the nursery if it hurt him, and she said Yes, it did!  I remember every second of being in the nursery with little Alex and his Daddy right after baby was born!  Happiness at seeing baby for the first time quickly turned to terror as the doctor nor the nurses could get him breathing!  The nurses rushed baby Alex to the nursery with my son Alex right on their heals.  I didn't even realize that they had left so quickly because I was beside Jen while the doctor finished taking care of her!

As soon as she was a taken care of I went to wait for my turn to see baby Alex in the nursery.  How scarey it was to see him with the IV and the oxygen and his poor little head, so big and looking so awful!  My son was still in there with him, and I had my camera so I asked Alex if I could take some pix and he just nodded.   This is his first baby.  How scared and worried he was!  I was worriedand my heart was breaking as I watched my son trying to take in all of what was going on with the baby.  We didn't say many words because words brought tears.  So I told Alex to put his finger down so baby could hold it, and to know that he was there.  Bless baby's heart.  Born out into the scarey world, not able to see because of the medicine they have to put in their little eyes, and probably the worst headache he will ever have in his life!

Baby grabbed a hold of his Daddy's finger!  And at that moment I know that Alex had never known LOVE like he knew it right then!  As Alex leaned over into the tiny bassenett he whispered his love for his new son, and told him that everything was going to be alright!  And I cried.
I put my hand down for baby to grab my finger, too.  And he did!  And I cried!

GOD is so awsome!  HE listened to our prayers we were silently praying and baby was able to come home, and didn't have to stay that long in the hospital!  It took a little while for his head to go back down to it's normal size.  But when you look at him today, you would never know there was any problems at birth!  Little Alex is a very healthy, very active and very funny 2 year old!

As I passed from thoes pix onto the next album I have of little Alex, it is a week later, Valentine's Day!  And I got to watch him while his mommy and daddy went out for a  short evening alone! So, I got all fixed up for MY date with baby!  Grandpa got some good pix of us that night, too!

I guess that's why I am so snapshot crazy!  Pictures aren't just pictures, they are precious memories that I have in my heart, captured in a photgraph to share!
Our grand kids love to look at our photos.  They love to see, not only themselves but every one!   I think I am passing on my love of pictures, photos, snapshots, whatever you want to call them, to my kids and my grand kids!
Every snapshot I have is a Treasure!
Every child and grand child are more precious than Diamonds or Gold!
My most precious Treasures, my family!

GOD Bless ~

The snapshot I choose for today is my son, Alex his wife Jen and our little Alex!  Taken in West Virginia on our vacation last year.

If I could sit on the porch with God, the first thing I would
do is thank him for you....

This is for all my family and my friends who are like family to me!   I just want to let you know how much I appreciate you!
I am so blessed with my children and their children, and also with wonderful parents.
Fifty - something years ago a young couple decided, after years of trying to have a baby, that they would adopt.  They went thru a lot of paperwork, background checks, home visits and interviews so they could become my parents!
My wonderful, loving and funny Dad passed away 5 years ago, this month.  Two days before my Mom's birthday.
My sweet, precious Mom will be 85 on the 24th.
I  am so lucky to have been chosen by them.  And I have always let them know how much I love them.
Don't let a day go by without telling the people you love just how much you love them!
No one, family or friend is allowed to walk out my door without a hug, a kiss and an "I love YOU!"   Because you never know if it will be the last time you ever get the chance to hold them in your arms, or kiss their cheek and say I love you!
I thank GOD for each and every one of you!

GOD Bless ~
