Missing City: SMITHFIELD The FBI is now involved in the search for a 3-year-old Johnston County boy who's been missing since Sunday morning.

The Smithfield Police Department is searching for Siraj Unir Davenport of Four Oaks. His mother says he answers to Raji.

Davenport is a 3-year-old Asian male, approximately 3 feet, 0 inches tall, weighing 35 pounds. He has dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Detectives tell Eyewitness News that the boy was at the Brightleaf Flea Market with his mother around 10 a.m., when she says she turned to load her car with groceries and turned back around to find the boy gone.

Investigators say the mother and other customers searched for two hours on their own before calling police around noon.

Since then, Smithfield Police, Johnston County Sheriff's officials, search and rescue teams and fire officials have been scouring the area inside and outside the flea market. They have also launched several boats off a nearby ramp looking for clues along the Neuse River. Monday morning, federal agents entered the search for the child.

Authorities say they closed down the market early, clearing out everyone and searching each car as it left the parking lot for clues.

As for leads, police say there are few --investigators say Raji may have been abducted, but they have no information on any estranged family member or anyone else who would want to harm the boy.

Smithfield Police Chief Steve Gillikin said it may too early to consider the case a possible abduction. The search was called off Sunday evening because of bad weather.

Meanwhile his mother is working with police. The boys father is overseas. Officials say he's on his way back to Johnston County now.

Law enforcement officers are searching for a 19-year-old Marshall man whose car was found abandoned in a ditch northwest of Taunton.

The Lyon County Sheriff's Office says Brandon Swanson's Chevrolet Lumina was found shortly after noon Wednesday at the Lyon-Lincoln county line in southwestern Minnesota.

Swanson's parents called the sheriff about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday to say they had gotten a cell phone call from their son, who said he had gone into a ditch.

He told them he went off the road between Marshall and Lynd, but his car wasn't there. The cell call was traced to a tower near Minneota, and the car was found soon after.

A search of the area Wednesday by officers, a police dog and a State Patrol airplane turned up nothing. Taunton is about 15 miles northwest of Marshall.

A young mother is killed, and two children present during the homicide are now missing.

Police are searching for two children who they believe went missing after witnessing the shooting, including 9-year-old Damerco Jones and Armisha Williams, 4, Police have been unable to contact their parents.

Police identified the victim as Jackie Evans, 25. Officers found her shot in the chest near President and Williamsburg Drive just before 10:00 p.m. Friday. Investigators believe Evans was shot during fight in a large group of people.

The missing children are identified as Armisha Williams, age four, and Damerco Jones, age nine. Police say that the children were taken by an unidentified female who is not the mother or the guardian of the children.

Officers believe the shooter is a woman. So far, adult witnesses are not cooperating with police.

Moments after watching a woman shoot his mother, a six-year-old boy laid on her blood-covered body.

His four-year-old sister ran after him to do the same.

Neighbors looked on, shocked. The children waited, hoping their mom would wake up.

As their small bodies covered her, they cried, still unaware this violent scene would be the last moment they’d share with their mother.

Jackie Denise Evans, 25, died Friday night after being shot in the chest while walking home with her four children.

That is the grisly account police gave Saturday as they struggled to piece together what happened outside the Fay Apartments complex in North Fairmount.

Investigative work has been hampered by uncooperative witnesses, creating few leads in this heartbreaking case, said Cincinnati Police Sgt. Gary Conner.

“There were a number of people who were standing outside. Not a single person came forward to tell us anything,” Conner said. “The best information we were able to get came from a six-year-old boy who had just lost his mother. He was the only one with the courage and guts to talk to the police.

”
The children – believed to be 6, 4, 3 and eight months – have been placed with their maternal grandmother, police said.

According to police, Evans was shot about 9 p.m. in the 2500 block of Williamsburg Drive, near President Drive.

Evans was taken to University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

“She was a block from home. Another 10 minutes, and she could still be alive,” Conner said, running through the what-ifs of this tragedy. “If she’d walked on the other side of the street, maybe she would have survived. …Maybe none of this would have happened.

”
Police said on Friday there may have been a fight before the shooting. They’re still trying to figure out what could have sparked the deadly argument.

Family described Evans as non-confrontational. “The only thing she would ever fight over is her kids,” they told police, according to Conner.

Detectives spent most of Saturday canvassing the area and going door-to-door, looking for clues to point them to the killer.

They were met with dead-end after dead-end, people who refused to tell them what they witnessed.

“Someone saw this. They had to,” Conner said about the large group that was outside when Evans was shot. “This happened over something as simple as a verbal altercation of some sort. For that, a woman lost her life and four children are without a mother. It’s just senseless.

Meanwhile, police were searching for two children who they believe went missing after witnessing the shooting.

Chicago police Cmdr. Joe Salemme said security-camera video from a convenience store and gas station in Arkansas showed Benito Casanova and the three children going into the store and buying items. The children appeared fine, he said. Salemme would not say when the video was taken, where in Arkansas the family was at the time, or where in Mexico they may be, he said.

Missing: Aniwaniwa (Aniwa) Mihaere age 11Police are concerned for the safety of an 11-year-old Taita girl who has been missing since Friday night.

Aniwaniwa (Aniwa) Mihaere, of Taita, Lower Hutt, is described as Maori, approximately five feet six inches tall, of thin build with long brown hair.

She was last seen wearing a blue and white zip up hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the front and pink, three quarter track suit pants, and black and white slip on shoes.

Detective Sergeant Scott Cooper said Aniwa lived with her foster family who are very concerned for her.

"Aniwa doesn't have a cellphone that we're aware of nor any money, so we're hoping she's not too far away," Detective Sergeant Cooper said. "We're checking with her friends and family but so far no-one seem to have seen her.

He said Aniwa wasn't making any specific plans for the school holidays so her foster family and friends are puzzled by her sudden disappearance.

Maryland Amber Alert issued for teens abducted from their home

Stephon Blackwell An Amber Alert has been issued for two teenage brothers apparently kidnapped after six gunmen invaded their Catonsville home yesterday, a Baltimore County police spokesman said.

Shortly before 3 a.m., six armed men wearing masks got out of a gray Chevrolet Suburban in front of a house in the 600 block of Plymouth Road and forced their way into the two-story house occupied by two females and eight males, most of whom did not live there.

Once inside, the men awakened the occupants, binding their hands behind their backs with tape and gagging them, said Cpl. Mike Hill, the spokesman.

The armed intruders remained in the house for eight hours, until about 11 a.m., when they left with the brothers, Stephon Blackwell, 17, and Sterling Blackwell, 16, in a black 2004 BMW 645 convertible that belongs to one of the occupants.

As the BMW was about to leave, a male relative of the boys was driving by the house and witnessed the abduction. Police said that when the relative approached the BMW, one of the intruders fired a shot that missed the man.

About 8:30 p.m., the BMW was found abandoned in the 200 block of N. Glover St. in East Baltimore, police said.

Hill said the people left in the house at first were not cooperating with police but later gave them some information, which he declined to describe. Police were attempting to determine if the invasion was random or deliberate, Hill said. The spokesman said he didn't know whether the intruders stole any money or property from the house.

County police requested that Maryland State Police activate an Amber Alert describing the boys and the car in which they were abducted.

Kansas: Two teens from Olathe group home missing

DEZARE WILSON DOB: Nov 30, 1992Two teen girls have been missing for more than a week since running away from an Olathe youth home, Olathe police said.

The girls, identified by police as Janice Hogan and Dezare Wilson, left Temporary Lodging for Children with two boys from the facility on March 22. The boys returned a day later and told police that they dropped the girls off at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, police said.

Police were not able to confirm any sighting of the girls on that campus or whom they may have gone to see there.

Police said they are concerned about the girls because of their age and the length of time they have been missing. They added that the girls left the home without medication that they had been taking.

Robbie McFarlane was last seen leaving the Village Bar, Stirling Road, Dunblane around 11pm on Saturday March 29 . He is described as 6’2” tall with fair/blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white hooded top, blue jeans and Timberland boots.

A joint search operation with the police and Robbie’s family, friends and work colleagues is underway in the Dunblane area. Members of the Search and Rescue Dog Association are also involved and a helicopter is being used in the search.

Dunblane Inspector Brian Sharkey said: “This is completely out of character for Robbie to go missing. We, and his family, are extremely concerned for his wellbeing. “I appeal for anyone who may have seen or spoken to Robbie to contact us.

Elaine TaggartElaine Taggart, 48, has been missing since January 3 — making no contact with her family, despite a public appeal from her 90-year-old Chelsea pensioner father, Douglas Hassell, and missing her son Daniel's 14th birthday on March 4.

At 10.30am this morning (Monday, March 31), 30 officers and volunteers from the West Downs Neighbourhood Division, along with trained dogs provided by Surrey Police, searched Highdown Hill on day one of five searches. The other areas to be searched are in Goring and Ferring.

Police fear she may have either been involved in an accident, or become the victim of a serious crime.

Missing From Vermont $20,000 Reward

Where is Nicholas Garza? A new search is on for the student, missing since February 5th. There has been all kinds of speculation on what happened to the young man. Was he abducted, was he the victim of an accident, or is there foul play involved? He is a Middlebury College freshman, and police again are actively searching for him.

A fund has been set up to assist the Garza family in their search for Nick. A note on a website set up to help keep his name and photos in the public eye gives this detailed time line of the last known sighting and what he was doing right before he vanished into thin air, leaving family members frantic and police puzzled.

The report notes, On the night of February 5th Nick Garza left his dorm at Middlebury College with another student at 10:43pm. He entered another dorm at 10:48pm. He was last seen leaving this building at 11:05pm to walk back to his room some 500 yards away. He has not been seen since.

Police are saying that Police do not suspect foul play and they are still hoping for his safe return. A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Garza’s recovery.

Mansfield, Ohio Most Wanted: Local sex offender on the run

Ross Waldbauer is making more trouble for himself. Recently released from prison for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, Waldbauer has a warrant for escape. Because he has absconded supervision, Waldbauer could face another escape charge, as well as failure to verify change of address. Both are felonies.

Authorities believe he is in Shelby or Ashland. Waldbauer, 24, is 6 feet tall and weighs 228 pounds. He has brown hair, hazel eyes and numerous tattoos.

Austin, Texas Sex offender on the run considered threat to children

The search was on Thursday for a registered sex offender, who police believe is responsible for two recent attempted abductions.

According to a police alert, investigators believe Juan Manuel Perez, Jr. is a threat to area children. That accusation is based on two incidents -- one near the Del Valle Elementary and Middle schools, the other in the Wolf Lane community of Stoney Point.

“The fact that we have two incidents so close together would have anyone to believe he has reached an area in his life that he wants to re-offend, and he has become more dangerous for those reasons,” said Bastrop Co. Sheriff Rosanna Abreo.

Perez, who goes by the nickname of "Junior," is a registered sex offender and is currently out on probation. His criminal record includes an exposure case in 2004 and a case of Indecency with a child in 2006. Now, based on what three 14-year-old girls say, investigators believe he is at it again.

The most recent incident reportedly happened near Del Valle Middle school. Two girls who were walking to school Tuesday morning say a man tried to grab them. It was similar to another incident, a few miles away, that happened in the Stoney Point community. A teenager says while jogging February 28, a man, fitting Perez’s description, exposed himself to her and also tried to force her into his car.

"She was able to pull away, she yelled at him, yelled for assistance and for him to leave her alone," said Sheriff Abreo.

All three girls escaped unharmed. The current investigation, Sheriff Abreo says, is an opportunity to restate stranger danger rules.

"Somebody wants you to do something you don’t want to do, you address it immediately, and you tell your parents immediately. You scream, kick, and spit. Anything you can do to get away,” said Abreo.

Perez is linked to the two cases because of his car. One of the teenagers wrote down the tag number of the car they say was involved in the Del Valle incident. The plates were traced to Perez, but when investigators when to pick him up, they say he ran away. It is believed Perez is still in the area, and may be hiding out with friends.
