Action Request: Petition
Location: Texas, United States

Hello, can everyone please check out and sign this petition to allow death row inmates on Polunsky unit in Texas to have portable DVD/CD players and DVDs and CDs, sent from a third party distributor  (such as I have a penpal on death row who does not deserve to be there, and innocent people do get sent to death row and DO get executed... however, I believe every person deserves the small comforts we can give them. We need to evolve as a species, and this is ONE small step towards showing the world that we are a peaceful, compassionate species and can extend kindness to the "worst" of our criminals. Please sign and share.... this IS important and every signature DOES matter.

Here is the url to the petition:

Thank you so much!

I did this before. Quit smoking and drinking for 2 weeks with virgin coconut oil. It makes me feel nauseated but I don't crave nicotine. I feel super spacy when I try to quit smoking and drinking, as my brain readjusts chemically. I just had what I hope is my last cigarette. Monday, January 23 at 8:36 pm PST. Right now I feel super spaced out and weird. I haven't eaten much the last few days because I am broke, so my blood sugar has dropped, and dropped even more because I have tried to quit smoking.

This wednesday I am getting more oil. I know it is good for me, and also good for those dealing with candida. I buy Nutiva oil, almost half a liter for a little over 10 bucks at my local health food store.

I love this stuff. It tastes coconutty and is great to cook with (it won't smoke at higher temps) and there are so many benefits of including medium chain atty acids in the diet. Yes, coconut oil is a saturated fat, but it contains medium, not long-chain fatty acids and will not raise cholesterol levels. In fact, it is very helpful for many with cholesterol problems.

In addition, I will be working at consuming 4 (or more) liters of water a day to help flush toxins (all the crap in cigarettes and the toxins from my prescription meds) out of my body.

I also feel better when I take greens plus, with probiotics. It helps regulate my digestive track and I feel much more clear headed. I know I have Candida overgrowth following a bout of major antibiotics about 4 years ago. It has only been in the last 4 months that I figured out I "might" have Candidiasis and that is what has been causing my extreme fatigue and "spaciness". I do do better on very low carb, low sugar diets. I have to alter the diet a bit because the conventional anti-candida diet is too hard for me to realistically stick to, especially on a disability budget.

So, I will get the oil again this wed. I feel sick and nauseated at first, and break out. But it does help if I stick with it. My problem is that EVERYONE (and I mean EVERYONE) in my social circle drinks and smokes, so it is hard to get off those substances, psychologically.

So my new plan is 4 liters of water a day, at least 2 table spoons of water a day and more greens plus. Then I just HAVE to refrain from carbs, sugars, nitrates etc and get a normal amount of sleep (about 10 hours for me). And it might take anywhere from 1 month to 6 months before I start seeing major progress.

Genuine Health greens plus is my favourite brand. I can't find a picture of the stuff I take, but it's the basic powder "super food" with phytonutients and probiotics. I have had gastro-intestinal issues since I was a kid, and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis at 20, and then later that diagnosis was retracted. But I have found that this brand works better than the other "green powder drinks", for me at least, and the flavour is not bad.

I have a big plastic cup I got at 7-11 which holds a little over a liter of water. I plan to fill it up and drink from it all day, and if I consume 4 "cupfulls" in a 24 hour period, I will be good.

I will let you know how the energy, malaise, "brain fog", "unreality" and other symptoms change as I go about this. In addition to these three "supplements" I plan to be eating more vegetables (stir fry) and good quality fish and seafood, and less than 30% of my daily calories will be from carbs (starchy vegetables, rice, grains, any form of sugar).

I have found that buying plain yogurt is good, of course, but I like bio-best yogurt, plain, lactose reduced (90% lactose reduced).

Here is to good health.

I am new to thepetitionsite and to making groups. I wanted to make a group where people can:

1. Post about devices, "inventions" or projects they are working on (environmental, mechanical, whatever), even if they are lay-people, without fear of being ridiculed.

2. I wanted to create a group where people can come together to express their love for nature, animals, magic, hope and the important things in life (leaving behind the news, health concerns, financial concerns, etc).

3. I wanted to create a group where anybody can post pics of their pets, any sort of pet.

4. I wanted to create a group dedicated, in general, to trying to help other people in small, concrete ways (as well as animals and plants).

The aim of this group isn't lofty. It's just to get together and dicuss the fun side of issues we are passionate, the light-hearted side.

I hope you join and contribute. I am especially curious to see if anybody likes to build little machines, robots, anything like that. Or to see others' art.

Thanks for reading. Lex
