HAIKU

Not wholly dark nor shining bright,
But softly glimmering,
Oh, beautiful beyond compare
This misty moon of a night in spring.

The autumn moon is bright;
Sea waves whirl up to my gate,
Crested silvery white.

~ Basho ~

Lighting one candle with
another's flame
At dusk in spring — the same,
yet not the same.
