  In 2002 and 2003, community radio activists filed comments at the FCC against monopolistic media deregulation that would given companies like Clear Channel one big turkey shoot..  This grab was thwarted in Prometheus vs. the FCC.

 

On June 21st, the FCC put forward another set of rules that will create a homogenized, corporate media.

As long as enlistment fraud, sign-up bonuses, and draconian punishments for troops who speak out against unjust causes exist, Americans will be manipulated into participating in unjust seiges.  Today's conscientious objectors have served and thought better of it.

Please do what you can.

There are a lot of troops who are being persecuted for following their consciences.  A marine for 10 years, Kevin Benderman has been jailed without meaningful opportunity for parole.  He is not the only conscientious objector who refuses to return to Iraq.  These soldiers really have their fannies in the fire and we need to support them.

The 2008 Election Will Be Stolen by an Armed Madhouse

I just heard Amy Goodman (of Democracy Now) interview Greg Palast (an American journalist who they ran out of the country and who now works for the BBC) he has documented how republicans stole the past two elections by not counting cast but not counted votes.  He says that information provided by the phone companies (NAS spying)and other spying techniques lets the perps know whose vote needs to be left uncounted.

The book is called "Armed Madhouse"

He says (and has proof) are gas prices are high because everytime we agree to buy an OPec country's oil, we make them agree to buy our treasury bonds (enabling Bush to spend like a ninny).  He says Chavez of Egypt is offering us oil at $30/barrel but Bush won't take it because Chavez won't agreed to buy the treasury bonds (US debt)

Please DO something about Torture in Chicago

Please sign this petition, written after I viewed an expose (Democracy Now, with Amy Goodman) show highlighting the plight of torture victims in Chicago.

The special prosecutor, Edward Egan, is naturally reluctant to out the torturers.  There are reportedly over a hundred of them and most of them function under the imprimateur of the Chicago law enforcement.


Because we have not been vigilant about torture in the States, our torturers (Cmdr. Jon Burge reportedly learned his stuff in Vietnam) are now torturing here and teaching in Latin America .

Please do something.
