This is a very graphic video of two soldiers, throwing rocks at a very hurt dog, and they are doing this just for fun--if this is what the war is doing to our men, what will they be like when they come back--we need to bring them home now and stop this war and get them help--please sign the petition so that the story will be picked up by CNN!! Once again the video is extremely graphic!!

10/12/06 Help Puppy Mill Rescue "Hazel" 2:16 PM
This is Hazel (this is the link if you can't see the pic http://gmpr.org/images/hazel-homepage2.jpg  )

Hazel is a pug. But she isn't just any Pug, she is a 4 year old puppy mill Pug. She was rescued by Karen Powers of Green Mountain Pug rescue in VT this past August and has been adopted by Karen's mother in law. On behalf of Karen, founder of GMP http://gmpr.org/ someone I know personally, I am asking, no, I am begging for help for Hazel. Hazel is blind in one eye and only sees shadows from infection and neglect in the other. Yet, someone saw through all that and still saw a beautiful dog they could love with all their heart. Sadly, one of her feet had the "normal" abscess from standing on wire cages all her life and it (abscess) was so bad it had to be removed. http://gmpr.org/images/hazel-homepage1.jpg

The vet did a biopsy and found out it was mast cell stage 2 located in between her two toes. Karen has asked the vet to fax a copy of the pathology report to N.E.V.O.G.  The New England Veterinary Oncology Group based in Waltham, MA for consultation and do staging to see if spread to liver or spleen.  If not then they can do radiation on her leg as N.E.V.O.G. will be opening a center in Manchester, NH soon which will make vetting trips a wee bit easier. Everyone is devastated and sadly, the adoptive mom is on a small pension of barely $700. a month. She cannot afford to have any surgery nor have radiation. Without all the answers from N.E.V.O.G. there is no actual amount on what this will all cost but after having one of my own go through cancer with a 10 pound tumor, I know how expensive it can be. He is now a 3 year survivor. Hazel deservs to be a survivor too!

After speaking with a few friends in rescue who have also has this problem with their own rescued dogs, the prognosis is good and Hazel has a chance of a wonderful life with her human mom, but only with help. Like any dog, she deserves a chance. Unlike just any dog, being a puppy mill survivor first, she deserves an even greater chance. A chance to know what love is, to be able to run in the grass, chase the fallen northern leaves and to live out her life as any dog should be able to do.

Please, go to http://gmpr.org/ and right there is Hazel's picture with her story. Just below it is a donation button. Please, even a few dollars here and there add up as we all well know. Karen should have answers in a few days but in the meantime, the bills are mounting. I am doing a puppy mill quilt for next months EBay auction but that doesn't help Hazel now. So, give if you can and cross post to others if you can't. And if anyone can donate at least $50. I will hand make a quilted pillow (18X18) and put YOUR precious Angel's picture on it. So get those donations in and if you do donate the amount for a pillow, Send me a pic of your Angel and your mailing address and I will get on it. I am in the process of closing on my house and packing while working full time so it will take about 3 weeks to get this done, but those of you who know me, know my word is reputable.
So take a moment, think about it and donate whatever you can, be it money, or the few moments it takes to forward this to your friends and rescue contacts via email and please, don't forget all your friends on myspace.  I didn't.

Thank you in advance for any choice you make,

Kathie

Cross posted and sent out to all my friends!! This puppy really needs our help, if every one just puts in $5.00 or even $2.00 we can get this puppy so much better--I know we care now lets show we care!!!

How about a new shirt with a picture of your furbabies on it  or a mug with your cause on it, or a tee shirt to wear to your next demonstration or just something to get your point across!! Well I have a friend that is a graphic designer and will do anything you want, all you have to do is ask--he is just getting going, but once he does get things going he will start to give back some of the money he makes to the causes we want, animal rights, donations to wildlife foundation etc.  I have a couple of his sweatshirts and they are top quality, and they are not by any means expensive--so why not just take a browse through and see, there may be something there you like--or you could be the one to ask for what ever you like done--a memorial plaque for a belove baby that has gone to rainbow bridge, or a gift for someone special--or how about a tee shirt for your furbaby with your picture on it, whatever you want!! Have a look around and and tell him Suzanne sent you and get a bit more of a deal!! Just click the link!!
