Some good friends of ours (in the picture above) are competing for a spot on the bill at Gretsch's 125th Anniversary concert event this November in New York City. These guys have great talent and great personalities. I'm hoping you guys can visit the website and vote for them. I would greatly appreciate it.

http://www.gretsch125th.com/contest/index

The band is called Hot Rod Walt and the Psycho Devilles and the song they have entered is Roots Rock Ready.

The contest will run through July 16th and you can enter daily.

Thank you so much!

Several weeks ago I cut 10 inches of my hair and donated it to Locks of Love. I thought I'd share some information about the program.

WHAT IS LOCKS OF LOVE?

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Dear Nicole,

You've heard of National Breast Cancer Coalition's Less Pink, More Research and Breast Cancer Caucus efforts. Now, we're expanding our creative grassroots outreach even further and harnessing the power of internet outreach. For those of you familiar with the networking sensation Facebook, we have great news: NBCC has gotten on board and joined this vibrant online community of more than 50 million users.

As the President of NBCC, I want to personally invite you to join us on Facebook.

I now have my very own Facebook profile and we also have a cause page, a "Less Pink, More Research" group and an organization page. All of this will help get our message out to a wider audience of people who, like you, want to help stop breast cancer.

Here are a few ways you can help make these Facebook efforts a success:

  1. Join the Facebook community - it's easy, free and the place to be, Facebook.
  2. Make me your friend on Facebook.
  3. Visit and join the NBCC group "Less Pink, More Research." You can post comments about breast cancer issues that matter to you most.
  4. Visit the NBCC page and become a "fan" of NBCC.
  5. Support our cause and donate to the NBCCF using the causes application.

As always thank you so much for your support of our work to stop breast cancer. Join our Facebook efforts to help make our collective voices even louder.

Regards,

Fran Visco
President, National Breast Cancer Coalition

Hi everyone!

I'm very new to the Facebook site, but I thought I'd share something I just found on a friends page (*hugs*V). It is a Click to donate site and here is what is posted there:

Click to Give makes it easy to give food to the hungry every day for FREE.

Click to Give reminds you to visit The Hunger Site each day and keeps track of how much food you helped raise. Powered by the Chain Reaction engine, Click to Give lets you see the impact you're having in the world by keeping track of number of people who joins the fight against world hunger thank to you and amount of food you all raise together.

Just thought I'd share, feel free to crosspost...have a wonderful night!

~Nicole

My sis sent this to me and I couldn't resist sharing!!

TYPE IN a command, hit "submit" and see what happens... sit, roll over, down, stand, sing, dance, shake, fetch, play dead etc. and...it's also very cute if you type in a command that's not recognized...!! Make sure you type in "Kiss" too, but do it last.
