Never Give Up‏

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality. .
I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

'God', I asked, 'Can you give me one good reason not to quit?'
His answer surprised me...
'Look around', He said. 'Do you see the fern and the bamboo?'
'Yes', I replied.
'When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds,
I took very good care of them.
I gave them light.
I gave them water.
The fern quickly grew from the earth.
Its brilliant green covered the floor.
Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed.
But I did not quit on the bamboo', He said.

'In year three, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.
But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed.
I would not quit.' He said.

'Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant. .

But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.
It had spent the five years growing roots.
Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
'I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.'

He asked me.
'Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots'.

'I would not quit on the bamboo.
I will never quit on you.'
'Don't compare yourself to others.'

He said.
'The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern.
Yet they both make the forest beautiful.'
'Your time will come',

God said to me.
'You will rise high'
'How high should I rise?' I asked.
'How high will the bamboo rise?' He asked in return.
'As high as it can?' I questioned.
'Yes.'
He said,
'Give me glory by rising as high as you can.'

I left the forest and brought back this story.
I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

Never, Never, Never Give up.

For Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.
Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is,
tell the problem how Great the Lord is!

Heavens door opened this morning,
God asked me...
My CHILD... what can I do for you?'
and I said
'Protect and bless the one reading this message.
God smiled and answered ...
'REQUEST GRANTED'

This message is now in your hands.
What will YOU do with it?

send this to people so they too will have their

lives in God's hands

Don't ask God to bless your way if you're unwilling to move your feet.

STONE
TWO FRIENDS WERE WALKING
THROUGH THE DESERT
  .
DURING SOME POINT OF THE
JOURNEY, THEY HAD AN
ARGUMENT; AND ONE FRIEND
SLAPPED THE OTHER ONE
IN THE FACE

THE ONE WHO GOT SLAPPED

WAS HURT, BUT WITHOUT
SAYING ANYTHING,
WROTE IN THE SAND
,

TODAY MY BEST FRIEND

SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE
.

THEY KEPT ON WALKING,
UNTIL THEY FOUND AN OASIS,
WHERE THEY DECIDED
TO TAKE A  BATH

THE ONE WHO HAD BEEN
SLAPPED GOT STUCK IN THE
MIRE AND STARTED DROWNING,
BUT THE FRIEND SAVED HIM.

AFTER HE RECOVERED FROM
THE NEAR DROWNING,
HE WROTE ON A STONE:

'TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SAVED MY LIFE'

THE FRIEND WHO HAD SLAPPED
AND SAVED HIS BEST FRIEND
ASKED HIM, 'AFTER I HURT YOU,
YOU WROTE IN THE SAND AND NOW,
YOU WRITE ON A STONE, WHY?'

THE FRIEND REPLIED
'WHEN SOMEONE HURTS US
WE SHOULD WRITE IT DOWN
IN SAND, WHERE WINDS OF
FORGIVENESS CAN ERASE IT AWAY.

BUT, WHEN SOMEONE DOES  SOMETHING GOOD FOR US,
WE MUST ENGRAVE IT IN STONE
WHERE NO WIND
CAN EVER ERASE IT'

LEARN TO WRITE
YOUR HURTS IN
THE SAND AND TO
CARVE YOUR
BENEFITS IN STONE.

THEY SAY IT TAKES A

MINUTE TO FIND A SPECIAL
PERSON,

AN HOUR TO

APPRECIATE THEM,

A DAY

TO LOVE THEM,

BUT THEN
 ,

AN ENTIRE LIFE
TO FORGET THEM.

SEND THIS TO
THE PEOPLE YOU'LL NEVER
FORGET.

I JUST DID..

.
 DO NOT VALUE THE THINGS
YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE, BUT VALUE
WHO
YOU HAVE IN
 YOUR LIFE!

Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Here is the Full tear jerking Story

Zhang told me, “This iron vest is used to extract bile from the bear body. Now, the price of this bile is 300 yuan per gram.” He took me to the first cage, gesturing to me, “Let’s start the bile extraction."

I saw two sturdy workers tied up the bear’s body and pulled, through a pulley, a rope that was connected to the iron vest. They shouted, “Hi....!” and I saw the bear’s body contracted as they pulled. Suddenly, the bear gave out a hysterical roar, “Woo....!”. That was not really a roar. It has changed to a desolate and sorrowful cry. Her eyes showed endurance of excruciating pain. With restricted movement and space, she tried to struggle with her four limbs, kicking the ground with, “Ze la, Ze la” sound, which was such a pain to hear. At that very instant, I could hear the dripping sound of liquid coming out from a steel pipe under the bear’s stomach.

The workers then slowly released the rope followed by another long hard pull, as they repeated the extraction procedure. Another hoarse cry was heard. I saw the tears drop from the bear’s eyes. Similar to how a human would response to pain; the bear clenched its teeth and bent its body. It was such a heart-breaking scene! I could not bear to watch any further. I turned and walked away.

At that moment, I suddenly realised, the moaning cry before dawn came from these tragic bears.

Zhang followed me to the door. With trembling voice, I asked him, “Have you lost your humanity? These are living things!”

Zhang dismissed it, “Not that we have any choice. This is how we earn a living.”

Calming down, I asked him with a heavy heart, “How often do you need to extract the bile?”

He replied, “That depends. If the bear has good supply of bile, we will do it once or twice a day. The bear with less bile will be performed once in two days. Generally, a bear can produce 2000g of bile annually for 10 years.”

I trembled. Twice a day for 10 years, these are monstrous numbers! The bear has to go through such deadly torture twice a day, living a life without hope, for 10 years; 7200 times of flesh piercing pain; enduring it day after day, year after year. Even if this happens to the strongest human, he will not be able to sustain it. My heart ached with pain.

I wanted to leave. Zhang said, “In a short while, a surgery will be performed on the cubs. You cannot leave at this critical moment. You are representing Mr. Liu. If you leave and something goes wrong, who is going to bear the responsibility?”

Reluctantly, I followed him back to the bear room. Under his instruction, four sturdy workers brought in a cub and tied it up with chain. The cub looked at everyone with horror. When she saw me, her eyes brightened up. The cub dropped to her knees and begged me. I felt tears in my eyes.

Zhang waved his hands, instructing the workers to start the surgery.

In great despair, the cub lifted her head and cried, “Wooo....” She burst into tears. It was the most sorrowful and soul-touching cry I have ever heard in my life. It was as if knowing the human language, the cub shouted out the word, “Mom....”. Even the workers were startled.

At that very moment, an extra-ordinary shocking scene took place. A bear in a cage let out a loud cry. With her large hands and all her strength, she pushed open the thick iron bar and jumped out of the cage. The workers were terrified and fled away immediately.

Startled, I didn’t move. It was as if my legs had grown lead and I was not able to move an inch. However, the bear ignored my presence. She rushed to the cub. With her large hands, in awkward movement, she frantically tried to release the cub from the chain. Despite her best effort, she failed to release the cub. So, she kissed the cub and nestled her in her arms with a heavy heart. She licked the cub’s tears lovingly, crying, “Hmm ..hmmm....” to soothe the cub. The cub cried out, “Hoooo....”, as if calling her mom, asking her for rescue.

Suddenly, the bear let out a loud cry. With her large hands, she strangled the cub’s neck with all her might. She roared as she strangled until the cub’s body fell to the ground. Then, she released her hands. Looking at her dead child, she whimpered, as if saying, ”My child, I cannot save you, but you are not going to suffer any more. I’m so sorry.”

She bit her own hair. Then, she grabbed the iron vest and pulled it off her body. Together with the vest, the metal pipe flew out of the gallbladder. The fur at her stomach was covered with red blood as it dripped out of her stomach. She let out another cry, as if she has gone hysterical, and went towards the wall. “Bang!”. The wall collapsed.

I was in shock. I could not recall how I left this brutal place.

Now that I’m old and gray (but not quite in my rocker yet!), I look back on my life and think about things I wish I knew earlier. It would have made my life so much easier if I knew then what I know now. Here’s my list of things I wish I could turn back the hands of time to tell my younger self. Maybe it’s not too late for you.

You’re stronger than you think you are.
     1. Mistakes teach you important lessons. Every time you make one, you’re      one step closer to your goal.
     2. There is nothing to hold you back except you.
     3. You can press forward long after you can’t. It’s a matter of wanting it bad enough.
     4. No matter how much progress you make there will always be the people who insist that whatever you’re trying to do is impossible.
     5. You are limited only by your own imagination. Let it fly.
     6. Perception is reality.
     7. Your instincts can be trusted.
     8. There is only one question to ask yourself: “What would you do if you were not afraid?”
     9. It’s often hard to tell just how close you are to success.
    10. The only mistake that can truly hurt you is choosing to do nothing simply because you’re too scared to make a mistake.
    11. Never let success get to your head, and never let failure get to your heart.
    12. You have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of your life.
    13. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.
    14. Do what you love, not what you think you’re supposed to do.
    15. Laughter is the best medicine for stress. Laugh at yourself often.
    16. If you want to feel rich, just count all the great things you have that money can’t buy.
    17. Forgiving yourself is far more important than getting others to forgive you.
    18. If you awake every morning with the thought that something wonderful will happen in your life today, you’ll often find that you’re right.
    19. Be nice to yourself.
    20. For the most part, it doesn’t matter what people think. Follow your own truth.
    21. No education is wasted. Drink in as many new experiences as you can.
    22. Making one person smile can change the world.
    23. Don’t forget to enjoy your journey!
    24. You never know how strong you really are until being strong is the only choice you have.
    25. Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
    26. You cannot change what you refuse to confront.
    27. Crying doesn’t indicate that you’re weak. It doesn’t always solve your problems either.
    28. No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.
    29. Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.
    30. You can learn great things from your mistakes when you aren’t busy denying them.
    31. Give up worrying about what others think of you. as they seldom do.
    32. When you stop chasing the wrong things you give the right things a chance to catch you.
    33. You have to accept that some things will never be yours, and learn to appreciate the things that are only yours.
    34. As Henry Ford put it, “Whether you think you can or you think you can’t, you are right.”
    35. Don’t be afraid to move out of your comfort zone. Some of your best life experiences and opportunities will transpire only after you dare to lose.
    36. Giving up doesn’t always mean you’re weak, sometimes it means you are strong enough and smart enough to let go.
    37. You’ll rarely be 100% sure it will work. But you can always be 100% sure doing nothing won’t work.
    38. Don’t dwell on the past or worry about the future for too long. Right now is life. Live it in this moment.
    39. No matter how cautiously you choose your words, someone will always twist them around and misinterpret what you say. Just say what you mean and mean what you say.
    40. Not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of good luck.
    41. If you are passionate about something, pursue it, no matter what anyone else thinks. That’s how dreams are achieved.
    42. If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’ll keep getting what you’ve always got.
    43. What lies before us and behind us are tiny matters when compared to what lies within us.
    44. Don’t pray when it rains if you don’t pray when the sun shines.
    45. It’s not about getting a chance, it’s about taking a chance.
    46. If it were easy everyone would do it.
    47. Be vulnerable.
    48. A problem is a chance for you to learn.
    49. Regardless of the situation, life goes on.

    50. Always be Happy and Love yourself.

Until Every Cage is Empty,Until All Animals are Free , Until the Exploitation of Animals are Nowhere to be Seen
Prayer for Liberation of Brother and Sister Animals

24 December 2010

May all sentient beings in the animal realm

subject to unbearable pain in labs throughout the world

be free from suffering.

May alternatives to animal experimentation and testing

be used immediately.

May Bodhicitta fill the hearts of those who imprison them.

May all sentient beings from the animal realm

who suffer endless days, months, years

locked in tiny cages unable to move, be

filled with peace and calm.

May the many billions waiting in slaughterhouse

lines be free of fear.

May the hearts of those who work in abattoirs

be filled with Bodhicitta so the very thought of harm is purified.

May they never kill again and may the slaughterhouse lines become immediately empty.

May no animal be afraid or depressed.

May their bodies be free of injuries, disease and illness.

May those who need homes, or who have been driven from them

find shelter, plentiful food & water.

May there be liberation for those

tortured for fur, entertainment or who are hunted.

May those who believe they are superior

to our brother & sister animals

develop perfect equanimity.

And may they realise in their hearts

that all sentient beings possess Buddha nature

And they are not ours to kill or exploit.

May the many billions of land and sea dwelling sentient beings

who are abused, exploited and killed due to greed, hatred and ignorance

be free of suffering

May they experience complete and perfect enlightenment,

through the virtue of my efforts and prayers.

May I be a voice for the voiceless.

In short, may all human and non-human sentient beings

live together in harmony, peace and equanimity

and achieve perfect Enlightenment quickly.

Like a bird…

I am writing this letter not because I am a scientist or an intellect or a graduate. This is from a humble human being from the bottom of my heart.

Mother earth and her inhabitants, humans and animals share this beauty of nature together and the ultimate aim is to live with her in peace and harmony where cruelty is not suppose to be part of it. People have altered it all.

What a shame that we as humans can face the cruel treatment of animals, whether it is in the laboratory, companies, factories, Circuses, Zoos, Puppy mills, Fur industry or individual torturing of animals, wild and domesticated. That includes euthanasia in a cruel way – gassing and heart stick.

Animals in the laboratories are being tortured and killed in the name of science for the welfare of the human being. Who are we to decide that it is all in order to do cruel tests on these animals, when they scream and try to escape from the danger they find themselves in. They use body language to communicate with the scientist and the abusive person, yet we fail to recognize the cruelty behind this. It is not natural for any animal to be put through trauma deliberately. This earth is their planet too. Looking at nature and unhampered wilderness, I tend to think that this earth is their territory in the first place. We as humans have invaded their space to make way for technology and industries. Technology has put us in a dwindling spiral and thus the reason all the conflict between nations, let alone the animals that have to suffer due to our unethical behavior.

Ironically, we are so dependent on animals for our survival. Humans fear old age, illness and death and justify the cruel experiments on animals. For how many years should man be the beast and behave like the beast and keep torturing animals that any scientist can see is endless suffering. How does a scientist go home and treat his family with passion and yet the other side of him is non caring towards other forms of life. How can he watch an animal being clamped from head to toe and observe the fear, kicking and &ldquoleading for mercy”. How can he look at the pain and turn his head and have no remorse for his actions towards an animal that experience the same pain as any human.
Has scientist not gathered enough information and written libraries full of books of all the tests being administered on animals?

Scientists are still testing for the cure of cancer and aids and many other illnesses. They want to find a cure for all the illness and a tablet to curb old age. What for? We all have to complete the cycle of life. We all have to “depart” one day and make space for the new. It is the natural order of all living things, exactly like the weather pattern. Start educating humans to live a life of ethical and moral standards and see the Aids decline. Teach humans to wash their hands and see cholera decline. We regard ourselves as the higher species and yet we can not obey the basic rules in life. It is time we look at the behavior of animals and their self discipline. They can teach us plenty about pride and dignity.

Is it not perhaps fame that drives the scientist towards these deeds? Are these tests truly for the human survival? At a new discovery in the lab, the scientist name is on all the billboards, the media coverage and most probably the Nobel price too. Yes, the wealth speaks for it self. Do you want to see real trauma? Ask any very wealthy person to contribute towards charity and observe the devastating pain on his face. He regards his bank balance far more superior than life itself. Humans will do anything to hold on to their status which is so important for his survival. Greed has surpassed humanity………..

Mans best weapon is his reasoning. We have used it and we have abused it and then we go up in arms because this planet is not a safe place to live in anymore. Cruelty has increased. Crime has increased. Illness is taking lives of young people. Corruption has increased. All this is due to the sad behavior of people that call themselves human.

What scientist can do is start experimenting on humans and try to find out why some are so cruel and evil and only a handful show dignity towards our planet and our animals. Why am I different than the cruel and evil person? Don’t test on animals to find out why humans have lost the plot! Humanity is on the endangered list and people became used to the idea of being barbaric. The barbaric gene has invaded the human body and filled the cavity of humanity. We have lost our dignity, our ethics, our honesty, our principles and moral standards. What is left ………nothing. We are empty vessels!
