So my husband and I have been living in Vancouver now for about 2 months. Our job as personal tutors brought us here, and it's the same job that will take us away from here in about 2 weeks. It is quite beautiful here, but the weather makes it almost intolerable. I am glad that we are not living here permanently. The views are great; the beach, the mountains, green trees all over the place. However, we have only had about 5 days of sunshine while we've been here, and that is not nearly enough for us.
I have to say that Canadians are quite environmentally consicous, and I love that. Everybody owns a bike, and uses it for transportation whenever possible. Everybody recycles everything! It is so great! I love to see a country so dedicated to taking care of the earth that God gave us. It is very inspiring. I think it is my favorite part of living here.
In spite of all the rainy days, my husband and I still find opportunities to go out and explore Vancouver. We have gone to a lot of parks and have hiked a few trails. Our favorite trail takes us by a dog park next to the beach, and we run it every other day. I love getting to see all the different types of dogs, and sometimes getting to stop to play with them .
