Good news for women with an aggresive form of advanced breast cancer that other treatments have failed to stop gained a new option
"Tykerb" the new drug is in pill form. The Food and Drug administration said it appoved Tykerb for use in conjunction with chemotheraphy drugh xeleda. This drug will be available in two weeks. It will cost about 2,900 a month. the company said.
Tykerb like Herceptin is a part of new generation of cancer medicine that more precisely tartget tumors without killing many healthy cells.
Herceptin has been an option for many women with advanced HER2 positive breast cancer but evetuallyit stops working and women succumb to the disease
Both drugs target called HER-2/nue which tumors make in abnormal quantities in roughly one-fourth of all breast cancer. While Herceptin target the outside of HER2 protein, Tykerb works the inside of the cell.

I just came across this beautiful poem and thought of sharing it with you.

I had closed the door upon my heart
And wouldn't let anyone in
I had trusted and loved only to be hurt
But, that would never happen again

I had locked the door and tossed the key
As hard, and as far as I could
Love would never enter there again
My heart was closed for good

Then you came into my life
and made me change my mind
Just when I thought that tiny key
Was impossible to find

That's when you held out your hand
And proved to me I was wrong
Inside your palm was the key to my heart.

India is a great country where numerous famous people were born and Rabindranath Tagore's name is there as a famous poet. I like to dedicate this poem of his to all my friends.

This song of mine will wind its music around you
my child, like the fond arms of love

The song of mine will touch your forehead
like a kiss of blessing

When you are alone it will sit by our side and
whisper in your ear, when you are in the crowd
it will fence you about with aloofness

My song will be like a pair of wings to your dreams,
it will transport your heart to the verge of the unknown

It will like the faithful star overhead
when dark night is over your road

My song will sit in the pupils of your eyes,
and will carry your sight into the heart of things

And when my voice is silenced in death
my song will speak in your living heart.

Want to know how long you'll need to dance to burn off that slab of Christmas dinner or how much time you should spend walking to work off that piece of pecan pie? Here are few examples.

6 oz of honey glazed beef,26 minutes swimming
Few cracker with cheese,8 min of bike riding
Four bite size mini pizzas, 23 min running
couple of candy canes,19 min of yoga
A slice of fruitcake,55 min of dancing.
One slice of pecan pie,54 min of biking or an hour of swimming.
This calculation is for a 155 pound person.Add time if you are lighter or subtract time if you are heavier.

According to a new study done by British Researchers have found that as a child's IQ rises, his taste for meat in adulthood declines, Their IQ predicts their likelihood of becoming vegetarians as young adults-lowering their risk for cardiovascular disease in the process. The finding could explain the link between smarts and better health, the investigators say.

In the study, data was collected on nearly 8,200 men and women aged 30, whose IQ had been tested when they were 10 years of age.

Children who scored higher on IQ test at age 10 were more likely than those who got lower scores to report that they were vegetarian at the age of 30.

Vegetarian diets are associated with lower cardiovascular disease risk in a number of studies, so these findings  suggest that such a diet may help to explain why children or adolescents with a higher IQ have lower risk of coronary heart disease as adults,Gale Catherine the author of the book'Brighter people tend to have healthier dietary habits' mentioned in her book.

Great news for all women! breast cancer rate is falling since 2003.The breast cancer which is the # 1 killer among women is gradually defeated. According to a report in San Antanio 7.2 percent decline came a year after a big federal study linked menopause hormones to a higher risk of breast cancer, heart disease and other problems.Within months millions of women stopped taking estrogen and progestin pills.About 200,000 cases of breast cancer had been expected in 2003,the drop means that about 14,000 fewer women actually were diagnosed with the disease.

First of all want to wish all my friends a happy Holiday and very Happy and properous New Year. Just came across this poem and wanted to share with you.

It's just waves crashing on the shore, of a New Year
So gather your strength and climb aboard. or languish in your fear. Of getting left behind,or swept up in a storm, that's getting pretty near. We are waves crashing on the shore,of a New Year..

So my friends, where do you find yourself, after journeying the past year? I'm sure that you laughed along the way, and may be tasted a few tears. I hope you tried to do no harm, I hope that you carried on, and kept the faith that got you where enlightened folks belong.
