3/4 completed Earthship on 80 acres of treed land for sale in Northern Alberta. Situated in Athabasca County, Alberta the area is totally organic. All neighboring farmland has 100 % restricted chemical use. The trees are also protected by law in Athabasca county, so you have no fear of coming home one day to clear cut fields.  This house can be lived in while finishing.  The electricity is totally up and running as well as the water system.

You will never pay a utility bill again. If the world system collapsed tomorrow your home would not be effected. You are 100% of the grid. 

The design principles of the earthship makes them totally self sustaining.  The electricity is derived from the sun and wind, through solar panels and a tiny windmill.  The rain and snow is caught with a specialy made roof and drain system to be held in cisterns where the water is then filtered for use in the home (drinking, cooking and bathing).  The gray water is then filtered again to water the greenhouse which is the entire front of the home.  This greenhouse functions year round allowing even northern homes to produce fruit trees and nuts.  The heating is  solar directly from the sun in the winter, as the sun is lower in the sky it shines directly into the home heating the floors and walls.  There is also a woodstove for extra warmth on extremely cold days.  At 30 below the home remains at 16 degrees just with the suns heat.  In the summer with the sun higher in the sky the home is cool. 


The neighbors are totally 100% self sufficient.  They produce all their own food.  They raise chickens, goats, turkeys, bees and a 100% organic garden.  They are looking forward to the home being filled with a family hopefully with similar interests.
