An estimated 32,000 baby cows have been stranded aboard ships for six weeks at an Egyptian port after arriving from Australia. The Ministry of Agriculture is keeping them quarantined after fears that they were given cancerous treatments before boarding a vessel from Australia to Egypt, where they are planned to be slaughtered.

The cows remain on board their vessels in horrible conditions, waiting for the ministry to decide their fate. According to an al-Shorouk news report, they will likely remain on these ships for weeks as further tests take place.

This is not the first time when cows suffered on ships destined for Egypt. Earlier this year, 3,000 cows died on a ship after the Egyptian government refused to let them dock.

Thousands of animals are suffering and have died because of poor live export practices and lack of communication. Please urge the Ministry of Agricuture to offload the 32,000 stranded cows and take action to prevent similar situations from happening in the future!

Pig-dogging is an aggressive hunting method in which trained hunting dogs are pitted against wild boars. Proud enthusiasts of the sadistic blood sport often post online videos of the fights, which involve boars slowly being mauled to death by dogs. The dogs themselves sustain injuries, and some videos show hunters using staple guns to close their wounds.

An annual pig-dogging event called the Dog a Hog competition, held in Queensland, draws pig-doggers from all over Australia. The event has made the sport popular throughout the country, and many are addicted to the thrill of watching hunting dogs rip apart pigs.

Pig-dogging is cruel to all animals involved in the fights. Australia has an overpopulation of wild boars, but there are many ways to control the animals other than brutal, slow killing. Please sign the petition to urge Australian legislators to ban pig-dogging.

The $250 million dollar "Paradise Dam," built in 2005 in Bundaberg, Australia, is a death trap for aquatic life. The $20 million dollar fishways built into the dam do not work, and turtles, fish and eels traveling downstream over the dam are smashed to their death on concrete steps below.

In 22 days, 733 fish were killed as a result of the poor dam design. 152 were large endangered lungfish. The dam's death trap is significantly impacting the numbers of this species.

This rate of carnage cannot continue, especially when an endangered species is at risk. Please sign the petition to convince the Australian Department of Agriculture to promptly address issues with the Paradise Dam.

Steggles, one of KFC's leading chicken meat suppliers, claims to raise their chickens "in custom built chicken barns where they are free to roam and have access to food and water." In reality, the chickens are packed densely into the barns, preventing them from pecking, roosting and stretching their wings as they would do in a natural environment. Major suppliers Turi Foods and the Australian Chicken Meat Federation raise their chickens similarly to Steggles, through their Websites display photos of spacious farms with free-roaming chickens.

Australia currently has no legal standard for animal husbandry products, nor an enforceable definition of the term "free to roam." Please send a message to Australia's state animal welfare ministers to request tighter standards for animal welfare and animal product advertising.

Please sign the petition to make your voice heard.
