START A PETITION 27,000,000 members: the world's largest community for good
Oct 31, 2011
Focus: Environment
Action Request: Petition
Location: United States

In an effort to balance the budget, U.S. Congress is seriously considering cutting funding for wildlife conservation programs. Though wildlife-related parks and activities increase tourism and create millions of U.S. jobs, some Congress members view wildlife programs as an unnecessary luxury.

Wildlife conservation preserves our national heritage and boosts our economy by generating billions of dollars annually for wildlife-related tourism and recreation. Funding wildlife programs now is less expensive than restoring degraded land and diminishing animal populations in future years.

Please sign the petition to convince Congress to continue funding wildlife programs.
