Stephanie, I am truly amazed by your insensitivity towards animals in general, and your support for the single most hated hunt on the planet.

I learned, mostly from Technics and Civilization by Lewis Mumford, that hunters are the part of people that did not join society. They stayed out in the wilds, rather than joing the humanization that was created as towns formed and humans created farms.

They wandered the forests killing innocent animals. They could only relate in one way, killing, so they formed paranoid groups of killers evolving into armies, and national states. These are the people who divide humanity, forming xenophobic hatreds. While doing so, they promote population increase to create more cannon fodder and to reduce the societal importance of each individual. They hate the very concept of the individual.

All we do to make society better, is dragged backwards by hateful groups that have been formed from these groups of hunters. This is why humanity is plagued by war.

North American Native tribes are no different from the rest of us. The killing of the endangered whales by members of the Makah tribe in Washington State creates a very typical scenario of the demoralization of society through gangsterism and corruption.

Alcoholics and felons within the tribe were bribed by Japanese corporate interests to pursue the whale hunt for the sadistic wild animal market of many Asians. Truly caring members of the tribe were intimidated with death threats and beaten when they resisted.

The true Native Tribal culture is one that recognizes that humans are dangerous, and that they consume the very nature of existence. When natives came to North America thousands of years ago, uncontrolled hunting eliminated all the most beautiful species of animals to be found on the continent. Recognizing this, spiritual Natives created a level of awareness where hunting became a necessary evil, where hunters made a connection with the animal they killed, and apologized to it. In this way, native tribes were able to maintain nature, rather than destroy it.

Today, probably with the influence of the military, many Natives have been brought into the way of thinking of the colonialists. Colonialists worked with the completely false concept that God gave us the planet to exploit in anyway we desired. The colonialist goal was to abuse nature, rather than use it-- as the Bible really recommends.

James Watt, former Secretary of the US Dept of Interior, claimed, while in office, that when the last tree was cut, when the last animal was killed, Jesus would come and take all the "good" people to heaven and then destroy what is left of the earth.

Sickness to this degree is far too dangerous to be tolerated. While disguised as religion, hatred for the environment to this level is not protected by the First Amendment, even in its most liberal interpretation.

Killing humanity by killing the planet is genocide. People who lack the most basic human values may believe what they want. But, as soon as they act on their hatred, they have committed a crime of the worst kind: a hate crime.
