Hello my darlings! I won't be around for a couple of weeks to sign petitions, etc., as I'm off to Rossport Solidarity Camp, Co Mayo, Ireland, to support Shell to Sea's campaign to protect the environment & living creatures of NW Ireland. Please visit the Shell to Sea website & sign the 'Suspend Work on Corrib Gas' petition. The Camp also has a website. Love you all for your work for animal welfare! Ta-ta for now, Chris xxx

Come and celebrate St. Patrick's Day in style and show your support for Pat O'Donnell currently incarcerated at Castlerea Prison for not cooperating with Shell's cops in County Mayo (http://www.indymedia.ie/article/95776?search_text=the+chief).

For 11 years the people of County Mayo have been resisting Shell's efforts to develop a dangerous high pressure raw gas pipeline. Pat O'Donnell, a prominent local fisherman and anti-Shell campaigner who was only defending his family and livelihood has been sentenced to 7 months in jail. This is yet another example of Shell's criminalisation of members of the Rossport community with previously unblemished records, aided and abetted by the Irish state.

Come and protest at the Irish Embassy in London/your city against what the Irish government is doing in the name of Shell / Topaz in County Mayo. Show your support and in true St. Patrick's day spirit drive the snakes that are Shell / Topaz  out of County Mayo.

The preferred route for the N2 Slane Bypass, County Meath, Ireland, announced in January 2010 by the National Roads Authority, runs 500 metres from the edge of the Bend of the Boyne UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to the World Heritage Committee: "The three main prehistoric sites of the Brú na Bóinne Complex, Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, are situated on the north bank of the River Boyne 50 km north of Dublin. This is Europe's largest and most important concentration of prehistoric megalithic art. The monuments there had social, economic, religious and funerary functions. The Committee inscribed the site under criteria (i), (iii) and (iv) and invited the Irish authorities to control carefully future developments in and around the site and to involve ICOMOS in conservation and management planning." Linked to the Shell to Sea campaign (http://www.corribsos.com/), RSC taught me so much about sharing, working together for a common aim, living off-grid, & a light environmental footprint. Respect to the brave people of Rossport, campers, & Shell to Sea activists for their courage against the forces of Big Oil & a dirty government. Set on the beautiful, rugged, Co Mayo coast, Rossport Solidarity Camp welcomes friends of the environment, & I hope to be back there soon.

The people of Rossport, Co Mayo, Ireland, need help in their struggle against a polluting refinery & experimental high-pressure raw gas pipeline across unstable mountainous bogland, passing dangerously close to schools & homes. In 2005, five local farmers (the Rossport 5) were jailed three months for refusing Shell access to their lands.

See http://www.corribsos.com/ , http://www.mayogasinfo.com/ , Shell to Sea videos on You Tube showing Garda brutality, & Google Rossport Solidarity Camp (a wonderful example of low-carbon living) website for more info on this marvellous, wildlife-rich, endangered land, & the inspiring people who are struggling to protect it.

Slán! & thanks for reading....x, Chris
