Kucinich Introduced 35 Articles Of Impeachment Against Bush

Video of Dennis introducing articles of impeachment against Bush, this is the only vid on there now, longer ones might be coming, but this shows HIM doing HIS job, WE MUST DO OURS by pushing this into action! Call and
write Pelosi and Conyers...
Please click here:
http://www.care2.com/news/member/276942576/769781

CALL CONYERS and PELOSI TO DEMAND IMPEACHMENT...

Here are the numbers for them both, remind them of their DUTY to put
impeachment into action and remind them impeachment is NOT too late as it is never too late to uphold the law and it is never acceptable to
claim there are not enough votes....it is not their job to say there
are or are not enough votes, it is their job to uphold the
law.............them saying they will not uphold the law is like a cop
saying he won't arrest a murderer because a jury may not convict. Also
that lame excuse that it will divide the country or stop the government
doing their job is a lie, since the government isn't doing their job
NOW and also everything and I mean everything hinges on us having the
rule of law functioning.

We have enough evidence on video tape with bush ADMITTING to
impeachable crimes, same with cheney, we could impeach BOTH in ONE DAY.

Please call Pelosi's office to demand she get out of the way of justice:
San Francisco Office: 415-556-4862
DC Office: 202-225-4965

Call Conyers (and others if you like)

202-225-5126

202-224-3121

202-225-3951

313-961-5670

or 734-675-4084.

Demand it.

Contact media:

http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=6

And Congress:

http://www.house.gov/

and Senate:

http://senate.gov/

And contact your neighbors and co workers and paretns and kids and every body else!

You can find lots to do at various posts on here such as:

http://www.care2.com/c2c/groups/disc.html?gpp=5103&pst=744610

And also you can see here where we can get Bush prosecuted for murder IF we ALL get busy:

http://www.care2.com/news/member/866113885/761150

And here is how you can follow through with that:

You can get the book here (and elsewhere): amazon.com

Then get out and talk to: Full Contact List for the Attorneys General

And Google "___ District Attorney" (fill in the blank with your county)

Let's get to work on this and make it happen. At the VERY least it will shine a light on the subject, so let's get moving.

Thanks and Peace

THURSDAY Feb. 21: "You are Not a Lap Dog!" Call-In Day

Call Speaker Pelosi at 202-225-0100 and Majority Leader Hoyer at 202-225-4131. Tell them to stay strong against warrantless wiretapping and $102 billion more for Iraq.

In a surprising and long-overdue display of courage,
the House Democratic leadership last week stood up to Bush and refused
to bring to the floor a bill that would allow Bush to continue to spy
on the people of this country without a warrant. Also every Democrat
but one voted to hold Harriet Miers and Josh Bolton in contempt of Congress. Can this newfound Democratic courage last?

We need Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer to continue to stand strong against domestic spying and telecom immunity. And we need them to learn that they do have power if they choose to use it, and apply this lesson to ending the occupation of Iraq. Pelosi and Hoyer can start by simply refusing to allow Bush's $102 billion Iraq war funding request to come up for a vote.

Thursday Feb. 21: Join United for Peace and Justice, Democrats.com, AfterDowningStreet.org, Progressive Democrats of America, and other groups in a Massive National "You are NOT a Lap Dog*" Call-In Day!

Call Speaker Pelosi at 202-225-0100 and Majority Leader Hoyer at 202-225-4131. If you don't get through to a person, leave a voicemail.

Talking points:

1. Thank you for standing up against Bush's warrantless wiretapping, and keep standing up.

2. Stand up against Bush's new $102 billion Iraq war funding request by refusing to bring it to the floor for a vote.

In addition to your call, please sign our petition to your own Representative and Senators: No More Funds for Iraq
http://www.democrats.com/peoplesemailnetwork/124

This Democratic Congress was elected to end the war,
but they have given Bush one blank check after another, most recently
for $70 billion on January 16. But 42 Democrats and 4 Republicans
finally said no in January, so our calls and emails are making a
difference, and we need to keep up the pressure.
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2008/roll011.xml

And we must do more than call and email - we must
take to the streets and put pressure directly on our Representatives.
Here's a flyer you can hand out in front of your Representative's
office today:

http://resistinmarch.org

Background

* "We're not the lap dog of the president or the United States Senate."
-Rep Hoyer on Feb. 13, when the House leadership refused to bow to political pressure on warrantless wiretapping.

Early last week, the Senate passed an extension of
the Orwellian "Protect America Act" that allows Bush to wiretap all of
us without a warrant and offered immunity to telecoms that facilitated
illegal wiretaps in the past. Bush and the Senate wanted the House to
quickly pass the Senate bill, because the act expires on Feb. 15. The
House stood up to Bush and the Senate and allowed the "Protect America
Act" to expire. The fear-mongering has not stopped, with Bush claiming
that terrorists are planning an attack that will far surpass 9/11, and
he will be helpless to stop them without the ability to spy on us
without a warrant.

Unfortunately, the battle over domestic spying and
telecom immunity is not over. The House will return to the subject next
week. The leadership must be assured that they did the right thing by
refusing to bow to pressure and fear mongering, and that they must
continue to defend the Constitution.

The battle over FISA
teaches an important lesson about Congressional power - the Democrats
have it, if they care to use it. Pelosi and Hoyer have demonstrated
that they are willing to go to the mat over domestic spying and telecom
immunity - now we want to see them go to the mat to end the occupation
of Iraq.

Bush has requested another $102 billion for Iraq - which would push total spending on the war so far above $624 billion. Rep. John Murtha,
Chair of the Defense Appropriations subcommittee, is preparing a bill
to fund that request. He says the bill will be ready by the end of
February. The peace movement will have to wage a strong campaign to
defeat the war supplemental, or to turn it into a bill that only funds
the withdrawal of all troops and contractors. It won't be easy - the
presidential elections are capturing the attention of activists and the
general public. We must keep the pressure on!

Something very important happened in Congress on Thursday, thanks to all of your emails and calls. After 7 years of cowering in fear of every dictatorial demand from Bush and Cheney, House Democrats finally rose up and said NO.
First, House Democrats refused to give immunity to the telecom giants for illegally wiretapping the calls and emails of every American - despite two Bush press conference hissyfits and endless Corporate Media lies.
Second, House Democrats declared Harriet Miers and Josh Bolten to be in contempt of Congress for rejecting subpoenas to testify about the U.S. Attorney scandal, despite a faux-angry walkout by Republicans. Watch Rep. Robert Wexler's excellent floor speech.
Could this be the start of holding George Bush and Dick Cheney accountable for their innumerable High Crimes, ultimately through impeachment?
The main problem we face is time. Since this is an election year, Congress will stop legislating and start campaigning full-time in May. Since impeachment hearings take time, those hearings must begin now.
Thanks to your emails and calls, 18 Democrats support Rep. Robert Wexler's call for Cheney impeachment hearings:
http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/cheney
But that's not enough - we need 100 Democrats to support Wexler in order to force Speaker Pelosi to hold these hearings.
This week, every Member of Congress will be home working at their District Offices and meeting with the voters who elect them. So let's send them a loud and clear message: Start Impeachment Hearings for Dick Cheney Now.
One great way to send that message is through "Honk to Impeach" actions at the District Offices of your Representative. These actions are fun and passing cars love it. It just takes 2-3 brave people to have a successful 1-hour event.
Here's a national map with ongoing honk-a-thons:

Hey folks, let me preface this with the fact that every single issue we all deal with relies on our having an impact on our own government. BushCo ignores us and the law.

All the animal and environment and human rights issues will mean nothing at all unless we rescue our type of government.

We won't save the arctic from drilling, we won't get funds to find a cure for cancer, we won't save whales, we won't be able to accomplish anything.

Impeachment is necessary.

Please, Please do everything you can. not nearly enough people are pushing for it.

Conyers Considers Cheney Impeachment Hearings

On Thursday, Chairman John Conyers' House Judiciary Committee held a hearing at which Attorney General Michael Mukasey said that he would not investigate torture or warrantless spying, he would not enforce contempt citations, and he would treat Justice Department opinions as providing immunity for crimes.

None of this was new, but perhaps it touched
something in Conyers that had not been touched before. Following the
hearing, he and two staffers met for over an hour with two members of
Code Pink and discussed activism and impeachment, including Congressman Robert Wexler's proposal to begin impeachment hearings on Cheney.

Conyers expressed his concerns about what might
happen following an impeachment, the danger of installing a Bush
replacement or losing an election. But he said he's listening to
several advocates for impeachment, including Liz Holtzman and David
Swanson of Democrats.com. He hinted he could be swayed by a convincing argument, leaning out of his chair for dramatic effect.

So let's help Chairman John Conyers decide! We know Conyers agrees with all of us on the legal grounds for impeachment because he made this case himself in his 2006 book, "The Constitution in Crisis." Where Conyers needs persuasion is on the politics of impeachment, so we have addressed his concerns here:
http://www.democrats.com/conyers-start-impeachment-hearings

We'd like you to email Conyers (and other Judiciary Committee Democrats) with the link above, but please don't stop there.

1. Call his office at 202-225-5126 and say you would like him to begin Cheney impeachment hearings immediately. Tell him the hearings must
be on impeachment because that's the only way to force the White House
to comply with Congressional subpoenas. The phone in his office was
reportedly ringing once every second, 60 times per minute, all day long
on Monday. Let's ring it faster on Tuesday.

2. Print our petition
http://www.democrats.com/node/15663/print
and fax it to Conyers at 202-225-0072 with your name and address at the end.

3. Urge your Representative and Senators to sign onto Congressman Robert Wexler's letter to Conyers (which he plans to deliver on Friday) here:
http://democrats.com/peoplesemailnetwork/125

We know we're asking a lot, but we're not alone - our friends from Code Pink are fasting for impeachment and meeting with Conyers on Tuesday to discuss opening Cheney impeachment hearings.

International Days of Action Against Iraq Oil Law on February 22-23

Why did Bush and Cheney concoct WMD lies to scare Congress into authorizing an invasion of Iraq? After five years, it's clear the only reason was to steal Iraq's oil.

US Labor Against the War, United for Peace and
Justice, Oil Change International, and UK's Hands Off Iraqi Oil, are
working to expose the concerted efforts by the Bush-Cheney
administration and the major international oil companies to force
passage of an oil law in the Iraqi Parliament. This oil law would strip
the Iraqi people of their constitutional right to control their biggest
natural resource: oil.

Yesterday Harry Reid again brought forward the version of the FISA
bill containing a provision for telecom immunity for their criminal
complicity in illegal wiretaps of American citizens. Sure we need to
win another filibuster, but we also need a stronger message. Reid
must go.

What part of exercising power doesn't Harry Reid get? The Washington
Post reports him "pleading" with the White House. And yet, it is his
decision which version of the FISA bill to have the Senate consider,
and by choosing to bring forward the bad one, he is knowingly forcing
opponents of yet another "get out of jail free card" for Cheney
cronies to get 60 votes to strip it out of the bill. Or filibuster
yet again.

Step Down Harry Action Page:

Facebook Version:
link must be a member of Facebook and logged in)

This is the last straw. Time and again he has abdicated his
leadership, claiming he is "personally" opposed to things, while
collaborating to stack the deck in favor of the other side of the
policy issue. Reid has got to go.

And call them on the phone too. Here are the tested toll free
numbers, 800 828-0498, 800 614 2803 and 866 340 9281. And there is a
local phone number lookup on the regular action page above to get you
all the local district phone numbers.

OK, those are the basics. Now it's time for us to breathe some fire
of our own.

And please keep in mind, as with all our action pages, no words will
be sent on your behalf to your members of Congress, neither from this
alert nor on the action page itself, but the stated subject line,
"Reid Must Step Down As Majority Leader Over His Telecome Immunity
Surrender", and your additional personal comments if any.

But first, if you still have not yet gotten your "Impeach Cheney?"
cap, this is your LAST chance to pick up one of these historic
collector's items. On Monday, Dennis Kucinich intends to introduce
proposed articles of impeachment against Bush as well, so this will
be the last batch of caps about Cheney alone. Get the cap where it
all started while you can.

Alright then, put on your flameproof protective gear, here we go.

The word feeble does not even begin to describe how ineffective Reid
has been as majority so-called leader in representing the interests
of the people. A leader does not repeatedly tell his caucus they are
on their own, while working behind the scenes to cripple any real
opposition. And in so doing, he has done nothing but grease the
neocon agenda for as far back as the eye to see. For them he has been
as very effective, as a co-conspirator.

He gave his private blessing to the Gang of 14 that stuck us with two
additional lockdown reactionary votes on the Supreme Court for the
next generation. And it goes downhill from there. More recently his
unilateral caving in has stuck us with an evil White House con job
dubbed "The Surge", the sole purpose of which was to drag out the
death and destruction in Iraq at least another 2 years.

On the few occasions there have been successful filibusters under his
rudderless non-leadership he has actually publicly apologized for it,
like when we practically prostrated himself on the rejection of the
John Bolton nomination, promising to cave yet again if they would
just provide a couple extra redacted documents pretty please. We're
surprised that Dick Cheney doesn't make him wear a flowered dress
with little pink bows on the Senate floor.

Is he the Senate majority leader or is he a mouse? Reid makes Neville
Chamberlain look like Richard the Lion Hearted. He is long overdue to
be put out to pasture, hopefully one without gophers that might
accidentally frighten him.

So again, none of these words of ours will go to your member of
Congress, unless you choose to paste some of them in as part of your
own personal comments on the action page.

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed
to be ours, and forward this alert as widely as possible.

Press Release ....U.S. Congressional candidate Cindy Sheehan calls on Pelosi to
explain silence on torture briefing

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
December 9, 2007

Contact: Tiffany Burns (562)
912-5859

US Congressional Candidate Cindy Sheehan Calls on Pelosi to
Explain Silence on Torture Briefing.

US Congressional Candidate Cindy Sheehan today called upon Nancy Pelosi to respond to a story printed in the December 9 Washington Post which claims that the Speaker of the House was present in a 2002 meeting where four members of Congress were given a virtual
tour of the CIA's overseas detention sites and torture program.

According to the CIA, no objections were raised by any member of Congress present in the meeting, even though waterboarding, the interrogation technique profiled in the meeting, is illegal under international and US military law.

Pelosi has declined to comment on the story.

"My son was killed in part because of a battle that resulted from the torture happening at Abu Ghraib," said Sheehan. "If Nancy Pelosi had done the right thing in 2002 and taken a stance against the use of inhumane torture practices Casey might still be alive, so would thousands
more and think of those who could have been saved from this horrific
abuse."

"How she can claim that she supports the troops when her actions
and silence put them directly into harms way?"

Sheehan, who this year declared her candidacy to run for Pelosi's seat, reaffirmed her intentions to unseat the House Speaker.

"This is the smoking that makes it obvious why Nancy Pelosi 'took impeachment off the table.' It is more urgent now than ever that she is removed from office & I am even more determined to win her seat
in 2008."

Waterboarding, a simulated drowning technique used as a torture
method since the Spanish Inquisition, is outlawed under Article 3, Section 1 (a) of the Geneva Convention which prohibits, "Violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture." All countries signatory to the UN Convention Against Torture are subject to the prohibition on torture. In 2006, the US Department of Defense released a revised Army Field Manual entitled Human Intelligence Collector Operations prohibiting the use of waterboarding by U.S. military personnel.

"Nancy Pelosi and other members of Congress should be using their Constitutional authority to end all use of torture." said Sheehan, "Acquiring information through use of torture on prisoners of war is as inhumane as it is unreliable."

According to Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution, "The Congress shall have power to….declare war… and make rules concerning captures on land and water;"

Antiwar activists from the University of California, Santa Barbara and the surrounding community kicked CIA recruiters off of their campus today in a nonviolent direct action.

The CIA was scheduled to hold an “infosession” for students interested in jobs with the agency. Right as the session began, four activists entered the room and began to demonstrate waterboarding, a torture technique used by the CIA. After only one minute of the waterboarding demonstration the room was plunged into chaos by a group calling itself the Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clown Army. The Rebel Clowns, joined by several dozen antiwar organizers took over the meeting room and began passing out information on the CIA’s use of illegal torture techniques and literature related to the agency’s long history of subverting foreign governments, assassinating foreign leaders and subverting democracy.

The CIA agents fled the room but were pursued by a crowd of protestors chanting, “C-I-A, Go Away!” The agents were caught totally off-guard by the direct action. Protestors were overheard shouting to the escaping agents never to come back to UCSB.

Student protesters dressed as clowns follow a CIA representative from the UCen conference room to his car near Pardall Tunnel on Wednesday evening. The group interrupted the event to perform imaginary torture methods in order to deter recruitment at UCSB.
