TO OUR BELOVED PETS
Dec 27, 2009

By the edge of a wood, at the foot of a hill,
is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
when their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
for here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
the time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
and then, side-by-side,
they cross over . . . together.

Sweet elderly Egyptian Mau in NYC 9:27 AM


I am virtually fostering this poor little fellow on Facebook, don't know if Manhattan is a high-kill shelter or not, but his chances of finding a home are slim because of his age (9 years.)  I have seen older kitties find homes here because of the attention they get.....I am hoping this will work for him, too.

PLANNING TO MOVE TO NEW ORLEANS -- ADVICE PLEASE

As of late March 2010 - early April I am planning to move to New Orleans - I sincerely hope to have found a job before I go but, would value any and all advice - do they have a Y for Women? Boarding Homes? I do not have much to move with and would probably go by train - so again - I look forward to suggestions - tips.

MY PETS - All Now Deceased Due To Me

LOVE - when I got sick my beloved Sabs was killed protecting the house and my darling Paws lives in another state ... Sultan died 7/4 -- my heart breaks to see them.

Aurora -(Sabs sister is w/Pawz in New Hampshire - Fiona my beautiful blk cat died of a broken heart and Inkystinky the gray kitten Kimberley recused in a snow storm and raised is romping (I hope and pray) in Vermont on a farm.

I hope somewhere Kimberley has photos of Fiona and Aurora in order to make this photo album complete.
