"THE BOND" by Wayne Pacelle
I just finished reading this book written by Wayne Pacelle who is the President of the United States Humane Society and I wanted to pay him this tribute because the book touched me in such a profound way.  This book is a passionate, insightful, and comprehensive examination of our special connection to all creatures.  I learned so much about the reality of our world and was deeply inspired to take all the action I could to help the animal welfare movement.  If any of you are looking for a book about animal welfare please read this one.  It will horrify you with real facts but also provide the information you need to fight in this animal welfare battle.

This is the new petition that I just created telling the President of Nordstrom's to stop selling fur in his department stores.  I worked on this petition hard and I could use all the signatures and support that I can get.  I really think that this could be a influencial petition if I gather enough signatures.  Anyway, if you agree with the petition that I wrote please sign and forward so that it can gather strength in numbers.  Also, if you can, try to make a personal comment just because research has shown that a personal comment has a more profound effect on the target of a petition.  Thanks everyone!

I am starting my blog with mapping out what some of my goals are on care2 this week.  I have already posted one petition but I want to do another one, one that is more powerful and moving that will encourage others to take action.  I have been reading the book "The Bond" by Wayne Pacelle and its made me so passionate and informed on so many issues that I don't know where to start.  I think right now I am going to focus on fur factories and the cruelty behind the fur trade.  My idea was to petition designers that still use real fur and ask them to stop.  For right now I think that is a good enough start.  I also plan to click to donate as much as possible and sign other petitions that I read and want to take action on.
So that is my animal welfare issue that I want to focus on right now, is the fur trade which I think is a good one because of how horribly cruel it is.  That is it for now.
