Closing Aging Indian Point Nuclear Reactors Owned By Entergy

I live within three miles of two aging reactors with some serious problems, including spent fuel rod storage facilities that are leaking hundreds of gallons of radioactively contaminated water into the ground, said contaminated uranium breakdown derivatives making their way into the Hudson River.  Though these reactors are in New York, any one can sign the petition. We have a flawed evacuation plan, and millions of lives could be at risk...I hope all of you will help us gather 50,000 signatures to deliver to my Congressman, John Hall from New York's 19th District.  You can sign the petition here:

Green Butterfly Introduction

Greetings:

Someone suggested that I give this site a serious look, so here I am...an almost 51 year old conservative liberal, tree hugging, socially concerned, environmentally aware, merlot drinking, graying hippie...WOW, is that enough clarification?

I live in New York, about three miles from the aging, accident waiting to happen, nuclear reactor known as Indian Point which is owned by the Entergy Corporation.  I am very concerned that we are being duped through slight of hand as the DOE, NRC and the Nuclear Industry try to pitch Nuclear Energy as the way out of Global Warming, as they attempt to steal the GREEN mantle away from the grassroots environmentalists, and paint those of us leary or untrusting of nuclear as the radical fringe. (For those thinking I am being a bit extreme, you might want to GOOGLE CASEnergy, NuStart, and DOE-nuclear 2010)

I have a whole bunch of blogs that I am developing, but thought for now I would introduce three for those interested enough to have a look...you'll find my writing style biting, and I promise you original content, and at times some very disturbing news and opinion...give me a read, and if you like what you see, drop me a comment, link to my blog, or add me as a friend, as I am looking to build a network of concerned citizens.
