Aloha Friends,

If the calander is blurry and you aren't quite sure what day it is, that is because neither are we.  This is the way we have been living for the past two months.  We started our journey with a dream, a hope, a little money, and many a prayer.  It brought us across the country, through rain storms, hot sunny summer days (which lead to the water pump braking down in Williams, Arizona), and many a kind stranger to help us with gas, much need resting space, and food near the end of our journey.  We made it but we have found no home to live in and our Section 8 is no longer valid.  Everything fell through and we are left with nothing but our witts, skills, and crystals we dug in Arkensas.

We had planned on writing a daily log of our journey, but time never seemed to be convinient.  We were so cought up in the journey that we were unable to focus on the retelling of it.  It is my hope that in the next month I will be able to retell the trials and tibulations, as well as the empowering and exciting events which colored and prolonged our journey here.  Everything happens for a reason, and even though we may not know what that reason is at the time, it usually is revealed before too long.

We are still on the road today, staying in a motel courtesy of the Ukiah Community Center, and we will be moving on tomarrow to a camping site.  We have been spreading envrionmental education; selling and giving magnets away by the dozens.  Our desire to continue is strong and we can only hope that our will is as strong.  There is not much work out in California, and so we are making our own work.  We have been going to fairs to sell magnets and share the vision, in the hope to find the right people to work with building the physical location of the school.  In the mean time we have been camping at the state parks, but those are mostly closed now, some of the permenantly from the word in the parks.

Upon arriving to Fort Bragg, we found ourselves surrounded by mystical forces which pulled us in direcitons we had not planned on.  This has lead us to learn more about ourselves and those around us.

Many of the videos and photos are on memory cards with no readability, so we are not able to continue the video blog from beginning to end.  We can get some video material, which I will share at a later date.  For now, please add your rating to our video shares and spread the word.

Peace, Love and Life,

Lyra Jubb

This is a written and video documentary of our declaration of independence from the cold, depressing hell we have been living in for the past six years.  We are still on the road a month later and this is a recount of our adventure so far.  We are currently winging the last leg with the help of charitable organizations such as the Holy Ghost Church in Alberqurerque, NM, kind police officers through Travlers' Aid, and generous truck drivers.  May this journey be completed before the week is out.

"We thought that we could begin a new life there, but much to our surprise, it wasn’t so. Maybe a mirror DID get broken and that damn myth IS true, but after nearly six years of bad luck, it was time to leave. And so the next journey begins.

Not a moment too soon… actually many moments too late, but that was then, right? The last week has been spent sleeping on a set of bunk-beds in a room barely big enough for them, at what otherwise was really a blessing for all four of us. I know that is not what many would call the John Graham Emergency Shelter in Vergennes, Vermont, though. These last couple of days has really made it clear to us, though, that we need to make a break; and today is that day. Everything is sorted, packed or crapped, shrink-wrapped like you wouldn’t believe (another story altogether) and shipped. Once those pallets are on the truck, our path is set.

Not to back-track, but a little history never hurts. This ‘adventure’ really began six years ago, when Quinn was only four months old. We picked up our family and moved from Maui, Hawaii, to Bristol, Vermont. Not something you can do with a van and a U-Haul. This original move was work induced… (a whole other story).

So this time we are going with NO expectations, much less job prospects. We simply want to work on being self-sufficient, and that requires a real growing season to begin with. It is our hope that our Section 8 Voucher has been extended for a rare third time. That would be greatly instrumental in having a home when we arrive in Mendocino County. At the moment, we are in suspense on the issue because the notices are sent out to our mailing address, which remains in Ripton until we get to California.

My husband and I got Google Earth and were looking at the polar caps.  There is a special feature from the NSIDC, which shows the rate of snow fall and ice over the past thirty years.

Above is a time lapse video of the North Pole snow and ice concentration from 1979-2008. Alarmingly, almost half of the North Pole has melted or broken off, and about 250 MI in circumference is gone from the South Pole. (I just cannot find that one again.)

And, this it just the tip of the ice berg!

Did you know that there are many volcanoes erupting in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands?

Do you remember the oil spill of 1989? It wasn't until August of last year that Exxon agreed to pay 75% of the cost of clean-up.

Did you know that there is a huge island of trash in the North Pacific Ocean estimated to be larger than the Continental US?

There are real human and wildlife disasters erupting all around the world, mainly due to lack of knowlege about our effect on the planet, and yet, only 10% of the global population has met the challenge to create little to no negative environmental impact while living on this amazing planet.

I was recently turned on to a book called "The 100th Monkey A story about social change", which talks about how, on an isolated island, one monkey learned how to wash the sand off a sweet potato. She taught her mother and others this trick and, when the 100th monkey leaned, all of the monkeys in the island chain knew how. Now, there are far more people on the planet than monkeys and so it will take considerably more people learning the same methods of sustainable living before the whole world will be keyed into this restorative method, but anything is possible.

Although our governments are doing their best to keep the status quo, there is much more that needs to be done and we do not have time for these 'birds' to get with the real program.  Please help us reach the tipping point of human consciousness before Earth reaches the tipping point of life.  Join us now and connect with other people driven to carry the wave of information about sustainable living for a sustainable future across this beautiful planet we all call home.

Peace,

At the age of 13, I found myself in what can only be described as a 'through the looking glass' experience.  "In Praise Of Butterflies" is a story about a journey in search of answers, the circumstances I found myself in, the road ahead, and the path left behind.

Advancing from the abstract right down to the minute experience, you will not believe your eyes, as you read on, to discover how I was thrust into danger and near death itself, was taught and transformed, leading me on a journey which inspired me to develop Earth College.

I hope that you will read about this journey and share my revelations with your friends.  I have also just created a public group for people to share their own TBI recoveries and near-death experiences.  Please join in and learn more than you thought possible.

Aloha Friends,

One month ago I asked all of you to add my family in your prayers.  A lot has happened over the course of the month and I have been unable to reply to all of the positive energy you sent to us.

Thank You All for your warm and beautiful energy.  I wanted to share with you what happened immediately after I asked for your help, but was swept into a whirl-wind of doctors’ visits, illnesses in the family and computer problems with no end.

Several hours after I posted the prayer request, my gas tank had three more gallons of gas then it had when I got to the hospital that morning.  I had no money, as is always the case at the end of a month, and so this was very welcome.  Unfortunately, my luck was about to be turned upside-down.  On April 1st I got a flat tire while taking Quinn to school and just barely made it into the parking lot.  Not exactly what I call a good April fool’s joke.  Luckily, the school janitor was pulling in with his mower and had all of the equipment to fix it.  Within the hour, I was able to go on my way and pick JP up from the hospital.

The next week I got a tarot reading from my friend, which described the next two months as hellish but passable, as long as I keep my wits about me.  She said that everything that could go wrong would, commenting that I may get a flat tire.  That just happened!  The past four weeks have been really challenging, but not impossible to navigate through.  There has been a lot of 'hurry up and wait' happening though.

Four weeks later, our internet is finally fixed and the computer works.  My family is in better condition and we are now preparing to make a great move.

My husband and I have made some really hard decisions which affect our whole family.  We realize that the past seven years here have been a struggle for survival and it seems that everything we have tried to do has failed.  We have had enough with this way of life and hope to start a new beginning on the West Coast.  We will be moving at the end of May and we will be traveling, by van, across America.  Our intention is to check out some of this country's sites before they disappear.

Planning for the journey ahead, we are packing light and selling non-essentials, downsizing.  We will be camping along the way, and my hope is that we can raise environmental awareness on our two week journey.  My husband is a bit more cautious and would like us to focus on getting to our destination in the allotted time with our family and vehicle intact.

The trailor we will be pulling will be covered with as many magnets as possible, so, if you see us, with green and blue oval and ribbon magnets on a trailor, give us a honk and join the march for sensible progressive environmental evolution.

Stay tuned as we get closer to departure.  If you, or someone you know, lives in Vermont and is looking for some things, check out our adds on Craig's List.

You have signed every petition to get the government to make clean energy a priority.  Now it is time that we give them the direction and policy to keep the government and electric companies accountable for making clean energy available now.  Please take a moment to sign this petition and foreward it on to everyone you know. The Zero Emissions Energy Mandate was developed several months ago in response to the plethora of petitions about energy solutions of today.  If you feel that there needs to be something added to this mandate please contact me.

Thank your for your commitment to a clean energy future NOW.

Sincerely,

Aloha Friends,

I apologize for not having been actively involved here for a while.  I have been unable to get on the internet for a while due to computer and internet difficulty.  On top of all of that, my husband has been in the hospital for the past week with an undetermined seizure-related problem.  This is effecting the whole family in different ways.

I have been trying to be strong through all of this...Our son has contracted a viral strain of hives, which is effecting his legs and things are just becoming very chaotic.

It is evident that our problems are small in comparison to those of people in Zimbabwe, but I am asking that you please include us in your prayers.

Are you frustrated by the direction in which our society seems to be evolving? Do you find yourself scratching your head in disgust about the way people are not reacting?  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could wake up the sleeping minds of this "consumer (un)consciousness"? Well, you are not alone. People like you and I are gathering as we speak; and you are invited to participate in the live discussions towards a conscious evolution of our entire world.

  • Cultivating a Paradigm of Aliveness
  • Education for an Evolving Consciousness
  • Teach Our Children Well
  • Working for Integrity in Commerce
  • Building Global Community
  • Promoting Health and Healing
  • Encouraging Conscious Media
  • Restoring Ecological Balance

Earth College is calling on all individuals to join in the conversations surrounding these concepts of conscious evolution.  We would like to hear from you, please join us at Earth College.

Conscious evolution is a relatively new concept, and the Evolutionary Leaders have asked us to unite in our determination to consciously create a better future for all living beings on Earth. They have provided the above basic areas of focus and it is up to us to discuss and spell out the procedures for complete global conscious evolution. There are still many who do not understand that our actions to add and subtract from the overall health of our society, environment and world.

This meditation was given to me several years ago and I have used it ever since. Through focused meditation practices we begin to see the mind of God. I hope that you will share this with others.
