A weekend of nigh on constant rain has seen a rock fall in someones back yard, landing on a swimming pool, and hiding the car!! Due to bursting a mains water pipe the house is now deemed unsafe. Another house which had had a landslide under it's garden has now gone the whole way and their pool is in half on the road below. We can no longer get out of the village unless you are prepared to risk a dodgy drive on disappearing roads and at least a 2 hour extra. Watching the Spanish news it is much the same in many villages, people stranded out on the campo and houses crumbling. I am counting my blessings!!

So yesterday was International Women's day and so the ladies all called by LOL or so it seemed, Africa came round to say that Charo hadn't left the keys at the kiosk and hadn't shown up, I said maybe she was stranded someplace, so no work for me in the afternoon, well who was going to be out and about in weather like this, Roma showed up having braved the track from her place, luckily she has a 4x4, mind you that isn't always the way poor ole Mark took 2 hours trying to find a passable track into the village yesterday, not that the 4x4 won't do it, just no road! Anne called by to ask if I had heard anything early in the morning, nope, and then she told me about the rock that rumbled......concerned about A & J I phoned and they were stranded at Gomaz, their car playing up again, so said I would pop down and collect them [yep got car again, trouble is can't go anywhere - is there some cosmic joke going on?] Anyway turns out car needs new altimeter thingy, pricey, can't be done till Wednesday, so parking on hill till then, luckily not such a hard thing to do here......their lovely wee house is now beginning to drip and the almacen in showing cracks, the water is now coming up as the land is so saturated and of course no house out here is built with any thought of dealing with monsoon type rainfalls that last 36hours......Reme called by later on a little quieter than usual, but as she says we are human sometimes we up sometimes we a little down So no ladies lunch this week, we were supposed to be going out to Roma's, [it was here last week] but seems wisest to wait until weather improves and roads get mended, also I think Reme is a little tired of it and needs a break. Our ladies lunch does accept a token male now with J and he loves every minute

Well there are blue skies today but boy oh boy is it bloody cold and the windows are a rattling - wee Squidge has shivered so much I have given in a made her a jacket, not that I am sure she is very keen on it see for yourself
and here are a couple of pics if you are on FB you will have already seen them

Take a look at the Spanish news online [if you have google browser it translates for you automatically fan -b -tastic!!] to see the scale of devastation to land and people in Andalucia - and further north/inland the snow is once more wreaking havoc -I doubt British news gives it much more than a cursory mention if that - I've not heard anything on the beeb radio.
Keeping the best bits till last - Lau Lau completed her 10mile run on Sunday in 95mins and that's with a dodgy knee - yep I am a very proud Mamma and this Friday is the 4 month scan of the new 'un
Well I is off for some lush veggie soup that Reme brought round for me last night,  Squidge still giving me strange looks  and moves oddly - I'll leave it a bit longer, but if she is truly unhappy with it she will have to go back to being the tough terrier she is meant to be LOL think I'll use up some the odds and ends and make a couple more of the doggie jackets slightly smaller as there are a few ladies in the village who like to "dress" their pooches - not that I really approve of some the stuff, keeping little mutts warm and dry is no bad thing

Blessing be.......

Another stretch of the A-92 collapses as rainsoaked land slides from beneath it'The southern coast of Spain - blessed with the best climate in Europe, with over 300 days of sunshine a year.' hahahahaha [picture c/o surinenglish]Apparently the road is closed from the village down to Malaga [thanks to Isaac who put it up on Fb, I was planning on going to Cartama estacion for more yarns] - I presume that we have something similar to the picture which is Granada way - I know the road to Coin is similar and I have heard of friends out on the campo who are totally cut off, hope they have their cupboards well stocked!! Me? well the water is once more running down the bathroom walls and despite having a towel lying across the bottom of the top terrace door I seem to have a mini waterfall - the top room is now sooo damp it is a health hazard lol - it has rained continually from Friday early evening and it is now Sunday afternoon it is sporadic now but it has been like a monsoon, I reckon we have had as much rain as Scotland does in a year in 3 months - and to think that last week it was promised the end of the freaky weather mmmmmmmm maybe next week?????Africa and I went to see Charo yesterday, we waded our way through the streets, and we now have a few hours each working - keeping the place open while Charo gives art classes and deals with a kinda hectic personal life, I am really gonna have to work at my Spanish now eeeeeek, this is me facing/braving a fear - no not a problem but a challenge Charo's shop is much like the Art Garden that I loved working at in Moniaive.I have also returned to my studies with the Arcane School, I wasn't sure whether I could restart - anyway happily for me I am welcomed back and I can pick up from where I left off 9 years ago - mmmmm - even the fact that it is 9 years has it's significance - I have pulled out all my past papers, a bit damp and nibbled round the edges from the mice and have been reading through - yep tis time once more - the life  ...... does not stand still, but inevitably....proceeds from revelation to revelation.....You may feel driven to indulge yourself  and thus more consciousthan usual of your whims and wishes. Appetites of all sorts can assertthemselves within you, causing you to look for ways to feed yourdesires. You may find yourself buying luxury items or purchasing goodsyou cannot afford in an effort to satisfy your cravings. However, thedesire you feel may actually be indicative of a profound psychologicalneed. Before you give in to your whims, think about what they mightrepresent. You may discover that a desire for expensive clothing orelectronics actually reflects your wish that others might recognizeyour accomplishments. If you do choose to spoil yourself today, consider how you might do so in ways that will legitimately improveyour quality of life.Fulfilling your desires mindfully allows you to indulge yourself withgoods and activities that contribute to your well-being or personalevolution. Sometimes what we want can be an illusion in which a simplepleasure represents a need that is more complex and deeply rooted inour emotions. When struck by a craving, considering it carefully beforesatisfying it can help ensure that you are addressing your realdesires. You’ll gain an understanding of not only what you wantbut also why you want it. In examining your desires, you may be able todiscover a way to fulfill them with a more healthful, spirituallynourishing, or enriching indulgence than you initially conceived of.When you examine what lies behind your desires today, the indulgencesyou choose will make you truly happy. And can't we all identify with that!!Who's seen Outnumbered? - who does Ben remind us of then? Thanks to Wendy I found a link on YouTube, but loads missing - I heard Andy Hamilton being interviewed about the series and a lot is not scripted, if you have or know anyone with kids gotta watch; in context I was listening to radio programme on the minds of children and how much it has changed - thank the gods/esses - to think that peeps thought that kids didn't know logic, kids are extremely logical that is what causes most of the embarrassments that and the fact that most parents seem to say one thing and mean another so get caught out by their kids - the reason we MUST be utterly truthful with our babesBlessings Be...........

margaret fuller"If you have knowledge let others light their candle in it".
give thanks with thanksgiving.we all so much to be thankful for-so much in our lives we just take for granted.no one signed this little article its by anonymous.here goes:"counting your blessings.if you have food in the refrigerator, colthes on your back, a roof over head and a place to sleep....you are richer than seventy-five percent of the world.
if you have money in the bank or in your wallet and spare change in a dish someplace....you are among the top eight percent of the worlds wealthy.
if you woke up this morning with more health than illness....you are more blessed than the million that will not survive this week.
if you never experienced the danger of battle, the lonliness of imprisonment.the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation.....you are ahead of 500million people in the world.
if you attend a church meeting or spiritual gathering without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death...you are more blessed than 3 billion people in the world.
if your parents are still alive and still married...you are very rare, even in the united states.
if you read this message you are more blessed than over 2 billion people in the world who cannot read at all.
if you hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder..you are blessed because you can offer a healing touch.
if you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful....you are blessed because the majority can,but most do not.
now go forth and share your blessing with rest of the planet...........anonymous

with all the chaos and unpredictability of the planet at the moment we all need to stop a moment and just be thankful and grateful for all the goodness in our lives !!
Talk about magical rendezvous,[ your name here]

Right this very moment, on a distant farm, there basks a fig, a nut, or a berry, whose very life force will soon be your own. But that's not all...

Right this very moment, there's a gorgeous home on a splendid property with a spectacular view, whose roof will someday give you shelter. But that's not all...

Right this very moment, there are beautiful souls on your beautiful planet, whom you do not even know, yet through your meanderings and theirs, paths will cross, love will be shared, and eternal friendships will be created. I'm still not done...

And nothing you do, or don't do, can prevent these serendipities I've just shared, and so, so many more.

Amen, hallelujah, rock me Amadeus -
    The Universe

From an interview I have just heard on the radio - we were presented with what the Americans would call a challenge and the Brits would call a problem Summed up very well me thinks!

Hip hip hooray!!!! Tomorrow is Andalucia Day, dancing and free paella and a holiday on Monday - BUT - forecast says stormy tomorrow and the village haven't put a tent up - oooops.

I have had a quiet few days  - realisation that this is the first time [except for a couple of odd weeks last year]that I have had the house all to myself - yes I am enjoying it - starting scarping off the flaky paint and cleaning the mould off the bathroom walls, mmm lovely having a clear/throw out and starting on a crochet project for Reme - who turned up earlier as hubby wanted the house to himself for a while, then Africa showed up and asked us to lunch - Carmen cooking - a typical tasty soup But by the time we had finished and cleared away big plops of rain were to be heard a falling well we have agreed to meet up tomorrow and go see the dancing in the Plaza if it isn't pissing it down - but we are promised this is the last of the rain - it has caused much devastation and death.

Hopefully Leigh et al will be over for tomorrow afternoon, I think Glenys is going over to collect them.

Next week I am hoping to get back to the gym again and get a routine back into my life - although Wednesday will be a day off as Reme is cooking a Dutch meal for us all at my place......yep all we do is cook eat drink and be merry

On going sage of insurance etc will no doubt continue and I am going to have to ask Jerome if I can borrow t car as I really need to get more yarn, gas and general shopping - mmm missing being mobile and going out with Wendy and Jules on our monthly jaunts, hey ho rolling with it.......

Blessings be for the full moon......

I was about to publish this last night when the leccy suddenly cut - so here are a few pics of our wee village enjoying Andalucia day no storms [a was forecast and probably kept a lot of people away
I am sure many of you will spot a few familiar faces

White week apparently for the skiers anyway a week off for the kids.

Well all change once more as Norman died on Sunday evening, friends had popped along to see him and take him some bits n bobs, they said he was very weak complaining of a sore throat but seemed chirpy enough and asked for some magdelaines which they went down to the cafe to get and have a quick smoke when they went back up he had gone, well guess it was better than living rough in a derelict villa; funny how death brings on feelings of guilt, ok ok I know I have no need [well that's what all my good buddies tell me]for any BUT they still creep in, so must be just part n parcel of the strange being we call human LOL. So lots of emails to authorities etc - our N was being as up front as he could have been though as I found amongst his belongings a new NHS European card and an address for the uk frim only 3 years ago mmmmmmm, I also believe he knew he was a lot more ill than he was letting on as J & S  who went to visit remarked on all the old ulcer scars on his arms, something which was normally hidden, ah well hope he is at rest now, he didn't have the greatest of futures to look forward to..........

Amazing how threatening to go to the press has got me some attention from the insurance office so back to sending all that through again - AND yesterday I saw Jules n Pete and Pete's old car was rammed at the w/e he had neither insurance nor itv, he only used it for the campo, but the "rammer" has to pay out, tis the way in Spain; mind you Z has written a cracking letter for me for the Olive Press which I am holding in reserve.

Spent a lovely day with Wendy yesterday we wandered to see Pedro to find crowds of people cameras radio etc, yep it's that time of year again when men in lycra are pedaling up and over the mountains - it's quite a famous race, but not being sporty inclined don't ask me what its called, so we sat had some tapas and a couple of beers and watched, the sun was out - cold wind, but despite gloomy forecasts the days are dawning fairly clean and clear, still raining at night - I know coz I had another of my sleeplessness nights finally dozing off after 4.

ooo interesting item on you n yours as I am writing all about bamboo which aint quite what it seems, what a shame and thanks for someone for finding out and making it known as I was about to get some more bamboo yarn, I bought some, well cotton bamboo mix, for the wrap I am doing for Reme, and it is lovely and soft - but maybe I'll hold on that till the manufacturing is a little better to the people who have to do it - the bamboo itself is great as it doesn't require the water that cotton does, buy the chemicals used in processing kinda outweighs the lack of pesticides used - did you know that the biggest quantity of pesticides used are used on cotton, mmmm, think on that when buying your next "natural" product - well all you who know me will know what I am about to say USE HEMP, not pesticides not water hungry grows everywhere in the world - improves the soil blah blah blah yep on my soapbox

One for the folks who come to stay a new cockerel has been installed and it's lud arrived last night - The good life has nothing on living in a Spanish village .......

Remember, it's not about controlling anything; it's about rolling with
the incoming waves as gracefully as you can. Being flexible now is more
important than a dramatic show of your will power.

Well sunny Sat has turned into rainy Sunday, was going to go to Cartama estacion for a wool foray with the 2 Marijkes, but M1 and I don't think it's worth going out in this weather, more rain means more disruption on the roads and the cloud is hanging very low.....nah not worth it! Another collapsing house in the village, which strangely enough once belonged to a good friend of mine [winks you know who you are xx] well not the house but the swiming pool that the new owners decided to put in....mmmmm....well it is positioned on a slope, so maybe not the wisest of moves, the crazy bit is that a couple of folks couldn't wait to email the old owner to tell them, not that these same people have ever bothered with her since leaving the village several years ago, some folks really do get a buzz outa bad news, do they spread happy news in equal measure?

Yes Eli N = Norman the ole fella who was staying here, well age concern found which ward he was in and a couple of volunteers have been to see him, reporting back that he seems very weak, so he'll not be reappearing this w/e.

Tenerife is not having any easier time than us by the sounds of things from Eli.......well it is said that the sun returns in Marzo, let's hope so, it's gonna take a month of Sundays, literally for things to dry out anyone want a free holiday accommodation that includes some painting LOL

Anne[vecinos]popped round on Friday to say my cat was hiding in her place, no, Stinkers was curled up as per usual in the rocking chair, anyway she asked if I would help get it out [apparently I am better with cats]because it was hiding under the bed....thought Squidge might do the trick hahaha no chance she just looked at it and it huddled all the more tightly under the bed, anyway nudged it out and with sleeves covering hands picked it up and set it outside, poor wee beastie was terrified, it's one that hangs around in our locale on the rooftops. It was thenrevealed that it was Anne's bday, so I had to stay and have a glass of wine and chat with them, they really are a lovely couple and real inspirations for how you can be in your 70s, won't be long now till they are off again on their boat.

Great Saturday play on the radio - Murder in Samarkand -
David Hare's witty portrait of an unlikely hero, based on the memoir by Craig Murray.
Craig is proud to be sent as Ambassador to Uzbekistan, eager to work hard and also eager for fun. The combination takes him on a dangerous course both professionally and personally, and the stakes couldn't be higher.
He blows the whistle well and all those who chose to bury their heads with regard to our government [whoever it might be] should listen and take heed.

That's all folks xoxo

I was listening to this when I published my blog last night/this morning - think you will like it Val!! I know when I was listening I was thinking of all the bloody officialdom I have been dealing with - they smile and take your dosh and then turn when they are asked to do something
"Smiling faces sometimes pretend to be your friend
Smiling faces show no traces of the evil that lurks within
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth uh
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof

The truth is in the eyes
Cause the eyes don't lie, amen
Remember a smile is just
A frown turned upside down
My friend let me tell you
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth, uh
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof
Beware, beware of the handshake
That hides the snake
I'm telling you beware
Beware of the pat on the back
It just might hold you back
Jealousy (jealousy)
Misery (misery)
Envy

I tell you, you can't see behind smiling faces
Smiling faces sometimes they don't tell the truth
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof

Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof
(Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes)
(Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes)
I'm telling you beware, beware of the handshake
That hides the snake
Listen to me now, beware
Beware of that pat on the back
It just might hold you back
Smiling faces, smiling faces sometimes
They don't tell the truth
Smiling faces, smiling faces
Tell lies and I got proof

Your enemy won't do you no harm
Cause you'll know where he's coming from
Don't let the handshake and the smile fool ya
Take my advice I'm only try' to school ya"

I took this picture from the terrace last night just before 7 - beautiful, tonight I can't see the chimney on my neighbours house and the rain is pounding the streets again. I am definitely running on empty now, no I didn't sleep at all last night, but I did enjoy listening to radio6 who played everything from the Kinks to the Killers - did some crochet and scraped some walls, then prepped the meal for the girls coming round, got a call from Marijke asking if I could bring some crochet up to the Terazza bar for Jaab to see - made a very good sale and some more orders , dashed back as I had promised A a computer lesson and also to finish lunch off. Julio was later getting back as problems with car [he had to go to Malaga] so lunch stretched to the 6 of us and we had a fun time as usual, think we could become quite a big group going to the Howling night when Lau comes out, J n A left just after 4 to catch the garage as it opened, R went off for her siesta and then Carmen Africa n lil un wandered off.

I wrote to consulate and age concern this morning - nothing from consulate, comforting innit for us Brits to know how concerned and caring they are!! A.C. did get back in touch saying that people had been to see N and that I had been told, well all I got was an empty email a couple of days ago........at least they are doing more and more successfully than the B.C. who couldn't find N and didn't take it any further.......I also wrote to Coin office but guess what? nadir so looks like I am going to play nasty guy and go to the press, if they think I am just giving empty threats then they are very much mistaken I was just trying to give them as many chances as poss, looks like that's all over.......on another note I popped into Charro on the way up to the super toda - she has been closed due to illness - asked her how she was  etc and she suddenly went on about finding the bit of paper with the sale of my stuff and the deal we struck originally, which stated 20% - bloody 'ell she sold 115€ - I told her to take 30% - she is happy we have met in the middle and why not she didn't have to show me, see I knew she was a good lady and I am glad I decided to keep some stuff with her, and we both agreed mainly childrens jackets and the little stuff - oh and an order for a yellow hat, from some fella - I just love this village..........

Oh yeah I see my subscribers has increased Hello and welcome - you will find there is no real rhyme nor reason to much of my meanderings and I have been known to let off steam when having imbibed in a glass or 2 of the Rioja - are you any different??
Anyone listening to the Mark Thomas Manifesto
I have been a fan of this guy for a long long time - if you like a little political humour tune in gotta admit gives me a few good giggles........
OK I'm off to phone the Lau Lau
Blessings be............

Meditation, breathing no, none of it gonna work - given up and go with the flow, sleep patterns all gone belly up this week, tonight though my mind keeps wandering back to poor ole N, does no-one know where he is - is anyone making any effort to make contact and put his mind at rest? I can't help but be concerned about the ole fella and the behaviour of people I contact is bewildering to me to say the least, seems to be a general trend going on here - that of being totally ignored whether it is the consulate who have not contacted me after my email to them on Monday informing them of N's change of situation, not heard from the age concern guy either for a couple of days - alongside this I find that the insurance company is claiming no knowledge of my claim and Alhaurin garage is also ignoring my requests for the document stating the scrapping of Cecil - I feel as if I am invisible - I am seriously considering telling it all to the Olive Press and see what happens and there is another part of me thinking oh what the hell I am fed up with this constant banging my head against what appear t be brick walls - advice anyone?
Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel
Like a snowball down a mountain, or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel that's turning running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind!

Remember this first time round with Rex's son!!

Good news is Lau has booked her n Stu to come out end of June for a week, and we will have a howling good time as this time we will go up to the wolf park for the full moon [and lunar eclipse] on Sat 26th, she is hoping a couple of their friends will be able to join us, hope they realise they gotta paint a room while here hehehehe

Well think I'll do a bit more crochet and see if I can wind myself back down now that I have clattered this all outa my system

Woke early this morning to the computer thingies bleeping at me, yes slept downstairs with radiator on low all night, upstairs feels so damp, so switched everything off and finished reading Tuesdays with Morrie by candlelight with a cuppa fruitee. A book for everyone yep and I cried....

"OK. This story is about a little wave, bobbing along in the ocean, having a grand old time. He's enjoying the wind and the fresh air-until he notices the other waves in front of him, crashing against the shore.
My God, this is terrible. the wave says. Look what's going to happen to me!
Then along comes another wave. It sees the first wave, looking grim, and it says to him, Why do you look so sad?
The first wave says, You don't understand! We're all going to crash! All us waves are going to be nothing! Isn't it terrible?
The second wave says, No, You don't understand. You're not a wave, you are part of the ocean."

I make a dash to the p.o to post a letter for A, and see a patch of blue sky, reminding me it is still there the leccy has come back on and I see the pool of water in the snug so get mopping...listening to the radio - an excellent programme Taking a Stand, this week about bipolar, I think most of us know someone who has this to some degree or another and this is a very honest account which gives great insight and a better understanding and for those who have never considered it listen walk a while in anothers shoes..........

The little bit of blue grew and by the time A J n I got to Alora, the promised rain had all gone, well little splatters every now n then, the happy people all glumly say it will be back tomorrow, but it was forecast for today and it didn't happen.......some folks - anything to moan about LOL The rivers are all well above their banks and flowing fast - the land looks very Scotland with puddles everywhere in water logged land, great clumps of mud and cacti have slithered down onto the roads and in some places the road has erupted, literally, force of water underground - amazing, apparently we were on orange alert again last night..........

Rainy-Day Ideas
Uplifting Showers
Rain is often seen as an annoyance, next time it rains visualize it cleansing both you and the earth.

The simple miracle of water falling from the sky has been interpreted in many ways by many cultures. In various areas of the world, rain was viewed as a nourishing gift, given by well-pleased deities. Rain also served as a symbol of emotional cleansing and represented the unending union between earth and sky. Today, rain is often seen as an annoyance—something to be borne doggedly while attending to one’s usual duties. But the arrival of one or more rainy days can also be interpreted as a signal to slow down and contemplate life. When Mother Nature darkens the sky and causes drizzle to fall, freshly opened buds close and many animals settle into their nests for a period of repose. We can honor rainy days by following the example put forth by the flora and fauna around us. Even if we must venture out into a shower, we can still slow down and appreciate our connection to nature.

A rainy day spent indoors can be wonderfully uplifting. As the rain pours down, fill your home with light, sound, and comfort so that you can fully appreciate the loveliness of being snug and dry during a downpour. Storms literally change the energy in the air, and you may feel driven to follow suit by burning incense or sage, ringing bells or chimes, lighting candles, or singing. You may even feel compelled to talk to each room in your home in order to express your gratitude for the protection they give you. If, however, you feel claustrophobic rather than calm because you cannot venture outdoors, you can clear away negative energy by getting rid of clutter, sweeping away dust, and freshening your up spaces. The happier you are in your home, the more beautiful and wondrous a simple rain shower will seem.

A sheltered spot like a covered porch, sunroom, or bay window can provide you with a wonderful vantage point from which to meditatively observe raindrops as they make their descent to earth. And the pitter-patter of rain on a rooftop or car window can even be a therapeutic and soothing sound—one that reminds us that while the unforeseen will always be a part of our lives, we should never forget that nearly every cloud that comes into our lives will have a silver lining.

Well that was quite timely
Blessings be........

The rain has been pounding for more than 24 hours, now it is running down the inside of the bathroom and snug walls - just gotta grin and bear it, no other option and everyone, even the new builds are suffering, paint manufacturers and sellers are going to be rubbing their hands in glee............

I finally got a hold of Salvador Saturday morning and he braved the rain and came and saw Norman, he wanted him up at the surgery to give and ecg and other tests, how to get him up there, as his breathing was laboured, so up to Oasis where 2 young Spanish lads were on the computer, Salvador asked them if they would be kind enough to take their car to the wee car park and help get N up to it and then take him up to the surgery, which they kindly did along with Ricky and that was the last I saw of N.........when he didn't return in the afternoon I thought he was at Oasis watching the rugby/football and waiting a lift/helping hand back down........at 8 I headed off out to Remes party, a little concerned, but thinking Salvador would have called if there were any complications....... a great party was had by all and Marejke Jules Africa Yolanda and I finally left sometime after 2, when I got in I realised N wasn't in the house, now I was worried but could do nothing; I phoned Salvador first thing Sunday morning to be told he had been taken to the clinico - he had extreme anaemia and a problem with his heart, S thought he would be there for a week and then returned to the village. So I emailed the consulate to inform them of the change and also age concern here - I was concerned for N as he had been whisked away with nothing but what he stood up in and no money, I wanted to know someone would go see him asap.....well the emails are flying back and forth as the consulate have been in contact with the clinico and they have no record of him or his admittance.........where is N?? We are still trying to find him.........

OK some blurry pics of the party, couldn't have set up camera properly mind you the lighting in L's is a bit ott

THE YEAR OF THE METAL TIGER
These years feature upheavals, mass discontent, and giant clashes of philosophies, if not outright violence escalating into wars. It is also a year to toughen up, work hard to achieve wealth, focus on loved ones, and express your love more through actions than words.
These years bring major political changes and realignments, with powerful new political faces making their play on the larger stage. Action and change are the keywords for the coming year!
Instability is the quality of Tiger, while toughness is the quality of Metal. This is a year to build despite the volatility of the changing conditions on personal and global levels. This year will bring success for those who have flashes of insight followed by quick, bold action.
So regardless of your sign, keep steady throughout these radical changing conditions, and you'll find safety (or at least a sense of relief or calm) by the Year of the Metal Hare, beginning February 2, 2011.

Tuesdays with Morrie - Mitch Albom
"We've got a form of brainwashing going on in our country," Morrie sighed. "Do you know what how they brainwash people? They repeat everything over and over. And that is what we do in this country. Owning things is good. More money is good. More property is good. More commercialism is good. More is good More is good. We repeat it - and have it repeated to us - over and over until nobody bothers to even think otherwise. The average person is so fogged up by all of this, he has no perspective on what's really important anymore.
Wherever I went in my life, I met people wanting to gobble up something new. Gobble up a new car. Gobble up a new piece of property. Gobble up the latest toy. And then they wanted to tell you all about it. 'Guess what I've got? Guess what I've got?'
You know how I interpreted that? These people were so hungry for love that they were accepting substitutes. They were embracing material things and expecting a sort of hug back. But it never works. You can't substitute material things for love or for gentleness or for tenderness or a sense of comradeship"

Blessings be..........
