 CALLING ALL PIT BULL FRIENDS!

If You LOVE Pit Bulls…If you can dedicate a few hours a week to helping the breed…If you have room in your heart and a little extra time on your hands…If you can’t foster or adopt a Pit Bull but still want to help rescue…

Then why not become a part of a Great Rescue dedicated to helping this Wonderful breed of dogs! Help them overcome the obstacles in life by giving them a fighting chance through Rescue, Fostering Programs, Education, and Community involvement. There is more to running a successful Pit rescue than just saving dogs from being killed in shelters, assessing their temperament and finding them safe, new loving homes. It takes a team of dedicated individuals who all have different skills to offer to keep things running smoothly. Not all people can offer their home to a Pit in need, but may still want to help save their lives. That’s where YOU come in!

We are now looking for people who have interest in Volunteering their time to Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue in the Following Areas:
1)      Computer Literate Person to manage/run the H.O.G. website2)    Computer Literate Person to manage/run the H.O.G. charitable storefront3)    Anyone with Graphic Design abilities (or similar) to help create upbeat Pit Rescue designs for items (shirts/hats/bags ect&hellip to be sold in the H.O.G. store for donations to keep the rescue running.4)    Person/persons (to work together if needed) to help keep track of BSL related activities and generate an updated once weekly list updating people on New and Pending BSL throughout USA.5)    Breed Specific Educational Materials Coordinator (someone to put together literature to be handed out at events or to be emailed/mailed to those that request it.)6)    People to help coordinate Fundraising efforts (To be led by C.M.)

There are ALWAYS things that need to be done, and there is always room for people who truly LOVE the breed to volunteer!!!

Please feel free to go and check out the Hearts Of Gold Pit Rescue Website.

This is OSCAR. Please God Let him Find a Loving Place to go...dont let him die like this...

He had a home, but was cast away by his owner to die in the arms of total strangers instead of getting him the vet care he so desperately needed...

A Plea For Oscar:

Can you please help the old guy. He is walking and doing okay. If no one takes him they will have to put him to sleep. But they are hoping for rescue to come thru.
he is sweet as he can be. A good old dog.

This may be a pit. And older dog Very sweet has arthritis. he is up and walking now. He has been on injections at the vets office. he is about 8 years old. he just needs a place to live out his remaining time on rimadyl. he does not mind other dogs at all. Very sweet. Talks while you rub his head.

please help this old man.

If you have room in your heart and your home...please contact me Christine at
issippi13@yahoo.com Today, before it is too late for Oscar.

**SEGA** NEEDS HEARTWORM TREATMENT
Please crosspost widely and thank you!
Sega was an owner surrender. He had heartworms!!! The Memphis Animal Shelter does not adopt out adult bully breeds but Sega was SO SPECIAL, he was the “exception to the rule.” Sega made history when he walked FREE ))))
******************************
Post sent out about SEGA:
Date: Wed, 3 May 2006 00:31:53 EDT
Subject: abd at shelter:
they have this dog at the shelter down the hallway.......it is the sweetest dog anyone could imagine......about 2 ------has heartworms . it is such a nice dog tracy is trying to find someone to take it.........he will hold it a while to see if anyone can help it......it is so cute and friendly......especially
nice.....i will kick in some for the treatment is you think you can find someone to help it........

Sega was adopted to a wonderful home in Vicksburg, Mississippi and I am trying to get some help with his heartworm treatment. The total cost will be $375.00. He begins heartworm treatment on June 2nd.  Can you spare a small donation ??
******************************
Picture and email from SEGA’s new family:
Hi Donna!!!
Sega made it home yesterday! We ABSOLUTELY LOVE HIM!!! He is literally the biggest baby ever! He was pretty calm yesterday and just wanted lots of love and scratches! Today hes bouncing all over the place!!! He seems SO HAPPY! I can't even believe that no-one wanted this sweetie!!!
We went out and bought him a bunch of toys and a BIG soft doggy bed (which he loves)! Believe it or not he loves to play tug-o-war and chew on his new squeeky tiger toy! I can't wait for the fun filled days to come!!! I promise to keep you up-dated as time goes by!
And yes...he loves people & so far gets along great with our other dogs!
ALSO...I think than when he puts on the weight he's lost in the kennel and we rid him of heartworms...he's probably gonna be at least 100lbs!!! I'll send new pics as time goes on!
Thank you again for helping us get our new "little" baby!!! He's finally home for good!!!!

AND THE BULLDOG GODS WILL SMILE ON YOU !

From Christine...Sega's new Mommy:
I am re-posting this BECAUSE, When I adopted SEGA, the nice lady Donna who runs Hearts of Gold Pit Rescue, along with a nice lady at the shelter who rescues dogs, wanted him to get a home so BAD that they said his heartworm treatments would be covered by Donations they had. I just found out that they will be taking the money out of thier own pockets...and I KNOW they do not have it. So far $35.00 has been sent in and I know that Donna is currently dealing with her own medical conditions but still insits on covering it as soon as she can. I am considering a refi on my house if need be to cover this and will do anything I have to to help my baby get his treatments. I have already spent the money on the indoor run to keep his activity to a minimum so he does not have an anureism during the treatments and am taking him in on Monday to the vet.

I guess that what I'm saying is I know that Donna will never let me go it alone with Segas heartworm treatments no matter what I say...and I think her money could be put to helping herself and other dogs in need instead. Even $1.00 helps! So please help Donna help SEGA...his rescue meant A-LOT to her!!! It means a-lot to us too!!!

BTW...I do donate to others causes just ask around !!! I find that it is easier if everyone helps out with a few dollars...than to go major treatment expenses alone!!
