In the next 48 hours, the US House will vote on the most significant climate change bill in US history.

The American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACE could prove to the world that we are serious about negotiating a global climate treaty in Copenhagen this December--but only if support is strengthened to help developing countries adapt to climate change the USA helped cause.

A global climate treaty isn't possible without both rich and poor nations signing on.

But without more international adaptation aid in ACES, we risk alienating vulnerable countries--and we might never reach a strong global agreement to solve climate change.

A recent study found that 300,000 people already die every year from climate change, and the health and livelihoods of hundreds of millions more are affected.

1. Yet right now, a woefully inadequate 1% of the bill's potential revenues go to the world’s poor to deal with this devastating hunger, drought, and disease--while U.S. dirty industries like coal will get up to 25%.

Over the last century, the United States has emitted more carbon than all the world's developing countries combined.

2. More funding is needed both for simple fairness--and in order to reach the treaty we all need.

ABC News has abandoned all pretense of journalistic integrity in its bid to be the administration's official salesman for ObamaCare.

ABC flatly rejected Republican National Committee Chief of Staff Ken McKay's request to add opposition views to ensure all sides of the health care debate were represented in the town hall forum.

Not only that, ABC News Vice President Kerry Smith responded by saying, ABC News alone will select those who will be in the audience asking questions of President Barack Obama.

As if that wasn't enough, ABC then rejected an ad from a conservative group trying to counter the liberal health care agenda.

They clearly are not interested in a fair and balanced presentation on this subject.

Void of opposing views, this news special becomes nothing more than an extended infomercial designed to scare and manipulate the American people into supporting a trillion-dollar government takeover of the highest quality health care system in the world!

A few hours ago, I met with Troy Davis on death row.

As you know, he is facing the death penalty in Georgia for killing a police officer -- but since his trial, seven out of nine witnesses have recanted or contradicted their testimony. And with no physical evidence to link him to the crime, it is likely he is innocent.

Besides the fact that Troy is facing execution for a crime that he may not have committed, he also told me that he is being denied the right to speak out on his own behalf despite the fact that others in his position are allowed to do so.

In my meeting with Troy, I discovered that 60 Minutes, Dateline, and the Associated Press have all been denied media access to Troy.

When Georgia won't let the media talk to the accused man, it is a flagrant abuse of his First Amendment rights.

In fact, the case of Troy Davis highlights how broken our criminal justice system is... and why we must reform it.

Today, more than 60% of the people in prison are people of color. African Americans make up more than 40% of those on death row.

This summer, the NAACP will launch a campaign to reform our country's criminal justice system with the goal of making our communities safer, improving police performance, saving money, and keeping more of our young men and women out of prison.

On April 24, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson took a first step toward regulating greenhouse pollution under the Clean Air Act by issuing a proposed finding that greenhouse gas emissions "endanger public health and welfare."

At the conclusion of the ongoing public comment period, the Environmental Protection Agency must finalize the finding, and then -- at long last -- issue regulations to reduce greenhouse pollution. Despite this forward momentum, the Obama administration is under intense pressure from industry to postpone or forgo the regulations.

The Clean Air Act is our nation's leading tool for the reduction of greenhouse pollution, with a proven track record of success in reducing traditional air pollutants.

Yet the Act's very effectiveness makes it the primary target of industries and politicians that continue to oppose solutions to the climate crisis..

Judge Sotomayor has the life experiences, as well as the judicial temperament and legal mastery, to be a successful and effective Supreme Court justice. She also has an established and proven commitment to civil rights.

You have probably already heard about her life story: she grew up in a public housing project in the South Bronx, her father died when she was nine, and her mother worked two jobs. She went to Princeton and Yale. She can understand the reality of all Americans from diverse backgrounds.

"CERN Stars in Hollywood Blockbuster"

The press and European Organisation for  Nuclear Research (CERN) employees finally had a chance to see the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at the Geneva-based institution in action - but only on the big screen.

The new film Angels and Demons is the sequel to the DaVinci Code and features scenes shot in Switzerland. CERN physicists have pointed out that the movie portrays the multi-billion dollar LHC stabilizing highly combustible anti-matter, a function it wasn’t designed to do.
