He came home Friday & is doing great!Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, hugs, love, positive energy, & healing light!I sincerely believe it made a difference!
First, I want to thank you all for your prayers, lit candles, healing light, & positive energy! it must be paying off because he will be in a regular room today!. He gave the nurses some hell yesterday (being his usual cranky self by refusing some treatments, like the oxygen mask...ugh), but that's definitely a good sign! He's eating better (as long as the food tastes OK, unlike the soup he had for lunch, which he said tasted like dirty dishwater LOL), he's smiling & joking around...I hope he comes home soon!
Keep doing what you're doing, please! It means more than you'll ever know!
He was taken to the hospital because he had trouble breathing Saturday night & is still in CCU.I was lucky to have my stepfather pick me up from Ortley Beach (I was there for the weekend, celebrating my friend’s birthday & wasn’t supposed to come home til Sunday. It’s about an hour or so away from home), so I can be with my family. If I couldn’t get home, I’d be a wreck & feel guilty, so I’m glad that I was able to get back the night of the incident to keep my sister company & our dogs calm.
He has congestive heart failure & is on meds to get the fluids out of his lungs & previously swollen feet & ankles (his feet & ankles were swelling before this & we were going to take him to the doctor, but he refused to go).My sister visited him today & his heartbeat was a bit irregular again, his white blood cell count was up a bit, & he had the 1st of 2 blood transfusions. We can tell that he IS feeling a bit better because he gave the nurses a bit of trouble last night. He was caught trying to get out of bed twice to take a walk (he can’t sit on his ass for long….it runs in the family-just ask my mother LOL).Surprisingly, he’s not really craving nicotine (he’s been smoking since he was 9), but he really wants COFFEE, but, of course, can’t have any. Also, he loves his salt, so he’s complaining that the food is bland.
The nurses & doctors have said that he’s in amazingly good health for an 83-yr.-old, despite the smoking, salt, & caffeine.Overall, he is in good spirits &, of course, wants to go home. The nurses love him.
No one is sure when he’s going to be in a regular room or when he’s coming home.We hope it’s soon. Please keep him in your prayers. He told my sister recently that he thinks he’s on his way out & she’s had dreams basically saying the same thing. We just don’t want him to suffer…About a year ago, my great aunt, his sister, passed away & had congestive heart failure for years (she succumbed to cancer).
Please cross post all you want and write the mayor. This is outrageous!!
Mayor Orders Dogs Released Into Forest
You've heard it before.....Arkansas animal shelters struggling to take care of unwanted dogs and cats. One mayor has decided the best way to fix the problem in his town is to set the animals free. KARK visited the Helena-West Helena animal shelter back in January. Conditions were dirty and animals were in poor health. Thursday, KARK learned the town's mayor James Valley has taken the unconventional approach of releasing the animals into the wild. In a press release, the mayor says "we fed and watered them and took them to the St. Francis National Forest."
We're told about ten dogs, including several pit bulls were set free and that some of the dogs were sick.
Here is Wednesday's news release from Mayor Valley:
Ladies and Gentlemen: This morning we began the process of dealing with our animal shelter problem. I have met, today, with Ms. Gloria Higginbotham. She is heading up a committee to create a county-wide animal shelter and perhaps with the participation of all governmental units, we can provide the kind of facility that will be deemed appropriate. In the mean time, we are or have released all but a few our those animals heretofore housed at the sanitation shop. We fed and watered them and took them to the St. Francis National Forest and released them to freedom. We are disassembling the pens or fences and will not any longer house or keep any of these animals. This problem is dogging us and taking away from our ability to focus on the greater good for the community as a whole. One of our animal control officers has been to the hospital three times in as many months. Twice for bites and once for a severally sprain ankle growing out of incidents with these animals. When Ms. Higginbotham's full plan is revealed, I plan to support it and assist her and the group in caring for our animals. I just wanted to let you know. Sincerely, James F. Valley
Here is this jerk's email jfvalley@aol.com
Don't you think he could be charged with animal cruelty?
