1. There's now a new category on Arkisaeo.com: Fungi!
2. I'm now offering customizable website design packages! Choose your options or make requests. This applies to both new sites and those that need redesigned or editing. A list of sites I've previously worked on include:
One of my favorite organizations is doing a very awesome thing.
The Nature Conservancy is working to restore 2.5 million acres of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil. For those of you that don't know much about this forest: Only 7% of it's original area (which spanned a distance from the state of Maine down to South Carolina) remains and it's one of the world's most endangered tropical forests.
Over the next 7 years they plan to plant 1 billion trees and this is where your help comes in. All it takes is $1.00. One dollar. For every dollar you donate, they will plant a tree.
If you donate 10 dollars, they'll plant 10 trees. If you donate 100 dollars, they'll plant 100 trees, and so on. Right now, the tree count is just over 7 million, which means they're still a long way from the billion tree mark.
The trees they are planting include: The Guapuruvu Tree, The Golden Trumpet Tree, The Ice-Cream Bean Tree (which has pulp that is similar to vanilla ice cream), and The Capororoca Tree.
To find out more about how you can help Plant A Billion Trees, check out the official site here. You can also gift trees, download cool widgets, or even start your own campaign!
Or if you want to get started now, you can donate through my campaign widget. I have set a goal for 7000 trees and every little bit can help plant them!
