TN: Paul House, Wrongly Condemned But Freed 5/12/09; Philip Workman, Wrongly Executed?

Exciting news about Paul House. Three years ago, the Supreme Ct. ruled that he would not be found guilty by a jury due to new DNA evidence, but he is just getting out of trouble. Philip Workman was executed, but was he guilty? Medical Examiners can sometimes . . .

******************

Some of you may have read my article about Paul House, a condemned Tennessee man with multiple sclerosis who the High Court ruled in 2006 would likely be found innocent by any jury with the new DNA evidence in his case.  Yet, his life hung in the balance until May 12, 2009.  He alleged that authorities in town did not like him wearing long hair.  Read my article about House here:

(UPDATED)  Paul House:  Innocent and Handicapped on TN's Death Row
http://my.nowpublic.com/world/updated-paul-house-innocent-and-handicapped-tn-death-row

The article carries a link to a "Real Talk with Brothas Keepa" BlogTalk radio broadcast with yours truly, Mary Neal, as the guest speaker.

Additionally, there is some VERY INTERESTING information revealing how easy it is for people to be wrongfully convicted and executed for crimes they did not commit.  No, it is not always a poor legal defense or erroneous witness testimony that causes this.  Can you say "Medical Examiner"?

Mr. House is not mentally ill, but he is physically handicapped and it seemed he was denied justice.  So AIMI advocated for him.  Let me know what you think about the article and radio interview, if you wish, by commenting below or at the site of the NowPublic article.  If you did not already read it, this one might just surprise you!

Please remember that I update my articles at http://NowPublic.com/duo as events unfold.  That is one of the good things about the Internet. Cyberstalkers are the only negatives I have found about online writing.  For some reason, they did not want me to update my article.  I had to get a NP staff member to do it.  SEE WHAT THEY WERE HIDING AT THE FIRST LINK ABOVE!

Blessings!
