Friends, please forgive me!  I hate to ask you to rush, but we must!  I have been so distracted that I need you to please do this asap.  We need to save Troy Anthony Davis, a likely innocent man scheduled for execution this month.  Your objection has to be filed by Sept. 11!  Thanks in advance.  God will bless you for your help. 

We have done this before friends!  We lost one and helped Amnesty International and other death penalty opponents to save two so far.

In Georgia, Troy Davis may be executed on September 23, despite compelling evidence of his innocence.  We need your help to convince Georgia to stop the Davis execution and give him the new trial he deserves.

Davis was sentenced to death for the murder of Police Officer Mark MacPhail in Savannah, Georgia.  According to Amnesty International, the case against him consisted only of witness testimony that contained inconsistencies, even at trial.  Since then, all but two of the state’s nine witnesses from the trial have recanted or contradicted their testimony.  Many of these witnesses have stated in sworn affidavits that they were pressured or coerced into testifying or signing statements.
 
Floridians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty asks you to TAKE ACTION TODAY to help convince the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles to act so that the state of Georgia does not carry out this execution.  The CLEMENCY HEARING IS SCHEDULED FOR THIS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12.  Time is running out!  Please ACT NOW!

If Texas Governor Rick Perry (pictured) does not act to halt Jose Medellin's execution immediately, America will show it does not care to follow the U.S. committments that serve to protect our own citizens abroad.  Apparently, condemned man,  Jose Medallin, is a Mexican national who was never informed of his right to seek help from his consular regarding the charges against him.  He is scheduled for a Texas execution tomorrow.
