         RIOTS ERUPTED IN OAKLAND, CA FOLLOWING FORMER B.A.R.T. OFFICER JOHANNES MEHSERLE'S TRIAL VERDICT ON JULY 8, 2010. HE WAS FOUND GUILTY OF INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER IN THE JANUARY 1, 2009 SHOOTING DEATH OF AN UNARMED, YOUNG AFRICAN AMERICAN MAN, OSCAR GRANT. VIDEOS OF THE SHOOTING WERE RELEASED TO THE MEDIA BY COMMUTERS WHO CAPTURED THE SHOOTING ON THEIR VIDEO CELL PHONES AND DIGITAL CAMERAS. Demonstrations by people of all races were held immediately after Grant's funeral in January 2009. They were mostly peaceful, but that changed after Mehserle's verdict.

Mehserle was led away from the courtroom in handcuffs and is now in custody. His sentencing is expected on Friday, August 6th. Involuntary manslaughter can carry 2, 4, and 6 years, with 10 added for a gun enhancement.        Many Care2 members expressed outrage at Grant's shooting when I published a story with the video about Oscar Grant's death immeidiately after the New Year's Day tragedy.  The story and video are at this link:

If Oscar Grant had somehow disarmed Mehserle, then stretched the unarmed officer out on the sidewalk and fatally shot him, Grant would likely have been found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to death. Instead, this is another case of a young, unarmed black man  being killed by police, and many people believe Mehserle's verdict is unjust.  Pray for Oscar Grant's family, friends, and for peace in the City of Oakland, California.  In addition to the criminal trial, there is a civil action underway.  His family sued for $50 million, but justice is elusive in the United States of America for middle class and poor people. 

When I went into the edit screen to correct a misspelled word in this share, the cyber censorship force took the opportunity to remove the color and underline for my NowPublic.com article's link about Grant to minimize the number of people who read it and the comments that show people's initial reaction to his death on New Year's Day 2009.  I tried applying color manually and hope it stays.  The article with video footage of Grant's death was read by many Care2 members who helped push the story to front page at Care2 News Network. When people sabotage my creative product or impede Internet access to my published work, they also violate the free speech rights of everyone who wrote comments.  View real-time cyber censorship at my YouTube channel - jkempp703.  This share regarding Oakland riots was sent as a discussion post to Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill, Amnesty International, and Minority News Network Care2 groups on July 9, 2010.  Rendering links inactive or removing the color and underline to reduce traffic to the site, removing discussion posts and bookmarks are some Internet censorship methods that are frequently applied to news that exposes injustices in America's justice system regarding police brutality, overuse of tasers, anti-death penalty reports, and news of particular interest to disabled people and minorities. I am personally attacked online, followed across the Internet and censored to hide the secret arrest and murder of my mentally and physically disabled brother, Larry Neal, who was also an African American killed by police - http://wrongfuldeathoflarryneal.com/ - Larry's death was followed by an elaborate cover-up facilitated by THE (JOHNNIE) COCHRAN FIRM FRAUD.  My family also was denied justice in court.
