They call it a faceless crime because they rob and violate you online, well I'm putting a face to it.

I just read a petition to boycott the comercialism of the Holidays by NOT shopping. I spoke about how the mentality of showing love with material objects have poisoned out society and how commercialism has destroyed out culture. I must say that I knew this quite a long time ago and have taught my child the true meaning of the holidays a lesson brough very close to our hearts when I was away from my family during the holidays while serving in the military. People tend to associate soldiers with politics which is very sad, while we are pawns in a sense, politics rairly play a role in a persons choice to join the service. Oh nuts once again I lost my train of thought and ended up on my soap box. I just wanted the reader to have some background of the petition that I make reference to in my rant, vent story.

A few days ago I was alerted that every penny I had was stolen from my debit card, I'm unable to pay my rent, utilities, medication, food let alone holiday gifts. How wonderful for them to be able to spend my money on gifts for their family while mine suffers. My card company reffered to  these crimes are faceless, well I have a face, I'm a disabled soldier, a mother, a sister, an aunt,  I am not a 16 digit number and a free $ sign. I lost everything serving my country, only to return disabled and fighting my own government for my military benefits, heck I'm still fighting for them, this is one of the reason why so many National Guard soldiers are committing suicide its NOT from just PTSD, its the fact that we can not get help..Wait I'm getting off the subject here, sorry its easy when so much is going wrong.

These thiefs like to claim a Robin Hood type of rationalization for stealing but they are NOT stealing from the rich, or multimillion dollar corporations, just the opposite they are stealing from the elderly, disabled and poor people who live on fixed incomes barely surviving and we have faces. Oh really quickly I don't care if a person is rich or if it is a multimillion dollar corporation STEALING IS WRONG. I raised a wonderful human being and I'm proud to say our past holidays were about love, family and being together, which as weird as this sounds I thank the military for that humbling lesson.  When I was far away from my family in the military, my child's wishes for the holidays were far from gifts and trinkets, only that her mommy came home alive, and between you and me I fought to stay alive because of her, she was the most important person in my life, she lost her father and there was NO way she was going to lose me.

I had not planned on shopping this holiday, for me the holidays are always about being together, and this year a more important gift was at stake. I planned on spending the holiday recuperating from a surgery, to help to restore my ability to walk without pain, to hopefully not have to take so much medication (that literally leaves me a zombie), an operation I have waited years for, and now it is in jeopardy, because they took every penny I had to survive on. In a small way I blame this commercialization of our holidays, and so much more as it is so wonderfully put above the true meaning of the holiday, and it is in a small way a factor in my little story, rant, vent as this is the season when so many innocent people become victims of identity and credit card theft, way to show holiday spirit. I want you to know that every gift you purchased using my money is tainted with blood, sweat and tears. This is the face and the person you stole from, and I hope you get what you deserve, your Karma is forfeit.

I often wonder about those stories of holiday spirit, love and kindness and I think of how long ago they were written and understand why those stories are never updated, why new stories don't seem to be availible to replace the old ones. People seem to only have enough good will to last a single month if that. I'm sorry if my words are harsh, but I'm raw, violated, angry and quite simply sick of (most) humanity and it me me me......I think I should just end this story now
