PLEASE SIGN BOTH OF THESE URGENT PETITIONS CALLING FOR AN END TO THE BOMBARDMENT OF LEBANON
I am sure that I am joined by numerous other Care2 friends in thinking about the peril the Lebanese people face during this period of conflict.  I fear for their safety as the bombardment of their homeland continues unabated.  I just signed two Petitions and strongly urge you to do the same.

Save the Lebanese Civilians Petition; GO TO:
http://epetitions.net/julywar///

Lebanese civilians have been under the constant attack of the state of Israel for several days. The State of Israel, in disregard to international law and the Geneva Convention, is launching a maritime and air siege targeting the entire population of the country. Innocent civilians are being collectively punished in Lebanon by the state of Israel in deliberate acts of terrorism as described in Article 33 of the Geneva Convention.                            (Imported Text)

The Petition Site Petition is at:

I wrote the Following:

As a UK subject I am cognizant of the part that Britain has played in the “creation” of Nations without regard to their original boundaries, land ownership or the ethnicity of their peoples; I am not proud of this sad chapter in our history. The appalling legacy of greedy European colonial dominance and US interference is the route cause of so many conflicts throughout the world today.
The US has taken over the role of world bully, motivated once again by strategic global dominance, primarily for the acquisition and control of world resources.  The so called “War on Terrorism” is just a devious excuse to forward this US agenda.
Europe and the US must exercise a moderating influence now to help undo the harm that we precipitated in both areas of current conflict in the Middle East to help bring peace to this troubled region. Our continued unquestioning support of Israeli aggression and occupation will spawn more acts of terrorism by desperate people who seek to end this oppression. My heart goes out to the innocent civilians who remain under bombardment and in danger.
Both Britain and the US must stop posturing with their ludicrous statements on the need to defeat terrorists by slaughtering civilians and destroying vital regional infrastructure.  Persisting in a policy of supporting tyranny, ignoring a multitude of serious human rights violations committed by Israel, while stalling over or promoting one-sided diplomacy will never bring an end to the scourge of terrorism.  Genuine peace negotiations will require fair compromises from both sides, but they are urgently needed to end this violence.

Please join me in appealing for an end to the violence; sign these two Petitions and forward them to all of your friends,

            Peaceful Patriot of the Planet,

                        Kim L. Sanders-Fisher.
