THIS IS WHAT WE'RE FIGHTING AGAIST

Don't cry over me

Or the acid in my eye

Don't weep on account of LD50

For my cold and broken body

Will be gone in such a hurry

No tears need be spent

Feeding inactive rage

Concerning the frozen, bloody

Foor of my cage

Or the careless worker

Paid with minimum wage

While he digs for me

My shallow grave

All these things I say because

I know humans to be brave

Other Creatures lives,

I'm sure they will save.

Dogs love with a passion

Indiscriminately, with a mission

Imagine these words on their tombstone--

Don't make animals fight cruelty all alone.

Proverbial knife, stabbed at my heart,

Aim meant to strike true, ultimately missed

This almost-death is the only thing

That allows me to see what is real

Again, and once more, I nearly destroy

Not just myself, but my life as well,

As I search for my need and carry out my quest,

My life's path rests on th descisions I make

Sometimes also, on the choices of those who surround me

And the actions of many I have never known

Death has not yet been met by me,

Though every day almost I wonder why not

And may my great and fimal adversary fear me,

Though I seldom feel that I am one to be afraid of

When I acknowledge all I am capable of--

While I nearly collapse my world again,

I reflect on this truth as I continue my all important

Journey on this perilous road disguised for many

As mundane and called "life"

I am the murderer.

This is a list of good books full of information on animal rights and animal welfare. They are all very informative. Some, such as "Animal Liberation" become a bit graphic in parts...just a warning. Also, "The Extended Circle" is a book of quotes from compassionate people through the ages concerning animals. You can contact me for more books, but most of them also have resources inside. Happy reading!
1. Animal Liberation-- Singer
2. Dominion--Scully
3. Making Kind Choices--Newkirk
4. Animal Rights A Vey Short Introduction--DeGrazia
5. The Case for Animal Rights--Regan
6. The Extended Circle--Wynne-Tyson
7. Careers as an Animal Rights Activist--Field
