Christmas is a time for giving. For some reason I do not find myself giving but rather trading. It seems like Christmas is too fabricated. I think, when one day I will live on my own and have no one for Christmas---because it will happen one day---I am going to volunteer at a soup kitchen.

I don't feel like a bad person for not giving straight away, I just feel misunderstood. My family wouldn't understand if I told them I wanted to help others for once. I'm disappointed in them, but mostly myself because I cannot bring myself to ask them what they would think.
