As I was driving down my alley this morning I was astonished at what I saw. Today is pick up day for our city recyclables. And the number of residents I saw that didn't have blue bags or green recycle containers in the alley for pick up really started to tick me off. How hard is it to sperate your recyclables in your home? Is it pure laziness on the publics part? Good grief, if I can do it, then anyone can do it.

We throw about 3 bags of regular trash every 2 weeks in our home and throw about 3 bags of recyclables EVERY week out. Almost everything that us consumers use now days has a recycle code on it and then there is all the paper, junk mail and cardboard that our food is packaged in that is recyclable.

All it takes is another trash can in the home and you just have to throw trash in one and recycles in the other. It is not rocket science and most cities will take it all combined so you dont have to seperate anything. It is just 2 simple steps.

So come on people, wake up and protect our environment. If not for us then do it for the future generations.

Why did I wait so long? This is the question that I ask myself very recently. I am in my mid 40’s, and it has taken me half my lifetime to finally come to my senses on the issues of Global Warming and our Ecology. I am appalled at what I see and hear out there on these issues from society and the media. So I have decided it is my turn to stand up and take a stand. One of the main reasons that I am is doing this is due to my child. I don’t want her to not be able to enjoy her existence due to society’s mistake with Mother Earth. If it is hard ecologically and monetarily right now, one can just imagine how it will be in the future at the rate we going now. I am going to make an impact as an individual and as a family from this day forth. In my upcoming Blogs, I am going to address what I am doing in our household and in our community. Also will blog on some of the great changes that the average person can do to make that impact.

I am also an avid advocate for Diabetes research. Being a Type2 and have tried countless medications to get it under control, I believe research is needed to help us find a cure for this disease. And I believe all people should be aware of this horrific disease and what major impact it has in our lives and to our bodies. With that, I will also be posting Blogs on diabetes subjects and treatments.

Thank you for sharing your valuable time with me while I embark on this life long journey to better myself and hopefully better others with my musings on this vast internet.
