Chameleon Karma

(Karma isn't history, is real cause, effect to the x th
degree, what goes around comes around, immediately
and eventually, possibly, yet, more intricately. 
When one might suggest that anything is a result
of karma, or one's karma, that's not truth,
even though we also can't say that it isn't true. 
To begin to understand karma one needs
to study both Hindu and Buddhist perspectives
on it, as well as Dharma, which isn't weaved
within the karmic wheel, and is the path we strive.... 
An ideal.  It's said, a butterfly fluttered trivial breeze
south of the Equator can become a gale north of it,
with poetic license.  This gives an inkling
of the intricacy in discerning what is, or could be
karmic.  Those who say everything is, are mistaken,
while we can't say something is not.  It's said only
Buddhas, and possibly Prophets, can discern
the true nature of an event back to its beginning,
seeing into past lives, et al.  That gives a clue
to the impossibility of one abusing another
and suggesting it's their karma, accurately;
or trying to manipulate another with the same,
although, sadly, this is done constantly. 
As one sows, so shall one reap.)    

Chameleon Karma

Darkness plummets a man’s mind
As he deflowers a girl before her time,
Against her will, a heinous crime.
The River Ganges sees, rushing,
Reflecting, as it flows to the sky.
Brings Rama and Shiva tears to eye.
His soul turned its back on him,
Now, third eye blind, he’s just

Their best, counter-transference,
The opposite of mental health!
A heart can be killed, yet,

Though, only smoke and mirrors, divide.

Yet, the life, indivisible, defies, a flower
Blossoms, Michaelangelo's... roll by,
An avian's trill still rings true.
So, what of me and you.

Will we allow individual injustices to go
Unchallenged, devolving into global ones?
Our freedoms to wither, for, we didn't
Exercise our responsibilities? Deaths
Dirge to purge our evolutionary calling?
Manifest destinies rag to drag us through
Their mud, determining the unactuation
Of life, our and large mammals extinction?

Or, will birdsong be sung
Of what we've done?
Let not the only tear to eye be their
Destined flood. Let our sojourns longing
Redefine the sublime in mornings
Awakening. Let life at humanities' hearth
Grow, our being veracity and loving sow.

Going Sane, Or In?

The F.B.I. knew, but, didn't tell. The military,
No response until an hour after initial attack.
No air force jets scrambled, to shoot the
Commandeered ones down. Soon, the Central Lack
Of Intelligence Agency will dictate, it wasn't known.

According to the Emperor, in his new threads, he
Will be "victorious in this Christian Crusade against
All terrorists and their supporters", to the 4 corners.
This while the British empire couldn't take the I.R.A.,
Even on their best day. Yes, he really meant,
Non-Christian, non-whites, especially the ones who've
Been pounded for hundreds of years by war with the
Brits, Russians, et al; and eventually, all who disagree.

For, we can't forget his edict to the world,
"Either you're on our side, or you're terrorists".
As if this weren't criminal enough, they're talking
About using nuclear weapons. So, we've W.W.III
Against one of the poorest countries, already in rubble,
Getting famine relief, who practice the fastest growing
Religion, Islam, to kill them and cut OPEC's edge on
US oil; while making radioactive dust?

Then, a chorus of supposed feminists chime in,
"They've oppressed women and children for years.
War is good, as long as women are in leadership after."
Have we forgotten, destruction and murder are
Of no value, they just reinforce the effects of cyclical
Deprivation? There are no "sides", that is a delusion?
How could "we" be so lost, or let them lead us astray?

Carry On

bed, Gaia's half dead hide, raped by divide,
conquered with survive; and lies.

destruction and murder are power; there's no
truth nor reality, only: winners, losers; prey,
predators; users, used; professionals are tools;
feelings are for fools; humanities' extinction is
inevitable and racing towards it will keep its

and ever will be; for, "we" can't allow them to

around, back to the evolution and the future,

A LOONS' CRY

Another quarter million celebrate women against violence against Women, children, and elderly, as participating was a self lost

Missing integrally the fundamental realism that,
Even in politics, there is no separation.
Being participating in all issues, it is for me, one issue,
A choice of two directions which are: evolutionary, abundance, life,
Creation, existence, or convolutionary, scarcity, destruction, murder,
Extinction.  There, knowing, when a woman's beaten down
Every nine seconds, its our humanity which is murdered,
I reveled in feeling that so many women will it not.
Here now, I feel as always, we'll bring our will to fruition.
For, it is so in reality, that this must be.

Be Well

Delusions are easy to manufacture,
Destruction is easy to dole.
Reality is easier to know,
Even easier, life is to grow.

I was lucky with you.

I knew there was woman, an aural
Artistry unparalleled and earthen at once.
I couldn’t of even imagined someone else
Trying to sing it, though, I was already
Taken by Sis’ Siren, with her ‘Jolene’.
Then Whitney Houston did,
Belting out a wondrous version,
Until she was no more, humanities loss.

If a man talks of  a love unending,
He’s a Svengali, a woman, she’s an Angel.
Tragically, men will never have equality
With women in the united suck of assassins.
Being men, we can’t even try for it,
There’s no time, because humanity needs us
To save it from itself, and we must save the Earth.

Neurosciences insist love is of the mind,
Chemical reactions, endorphins, pheromones,
Sociologists, a matter of instinct, survival, etc..
I say, nay, it’s alival, it’s of the heart,
For, when I see the vernal birth of a star,
I see love, when I see graffiti artistry,
I see love, when I see a kid kicking a can,
I see love; when a mosquito lands on my arm,
And when I kill it, I feel love twice.
Our Every cell is a library of the universes’
Evolution from the Big Bang on, we can access,
Our potential’s are illimitable, as life is indivisible,
How could anyone suggest that isn’t love?
To say there is nothing other, sounds of intellect,
Yet, I would win a million debates asserting pro.

" ...Not Just Dreaming... Again"

The rain welcomed me, as it was
I am, to be this gray day.
Unendingly unraveling, seemingly,
They are as the concrete, grey.
My roots, always reaching
The rich brown earth beneath,
Strengthen my stride,
As walking through them am I.
To where or what, I do not know,
For, discovery of life is stalking.

Yet, I'll be in the moment so,
If and when, I can, I will fly.
In each day I pray to be that I,
What, where, how, when,
And, somtimes, why.
So, though the suns light is masked,
This night, that is their day, won't last.
For, its direction, clear and bright,
Does glean through
The clouded cover of their night.

Still, this walk that's walking me,
Is what reality is to be.
And while these flaming embers glow,
I'll walk this road with reality, so.
Yet, to you I do entreat,
If and when, you two meet,
will you allow for the you to be,
And not recede from reality.
So, that to this day, all that have gone,

Will have their potential realized, as well,

Nature's, abundance based reality, they're just
Rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.  All
Changes every moment, "we, ...", need real
Change of direction, knowing where you've been,
Informs where you're at, and, only then, can one
Direct where they go, yet, it must begin within,
Self-actuation, turning 360 degrees around,
Back to the future and the evolution- a
Supplanting of everything, evolving.

A million monarchs lie dead, though,
No less sociological programming of
Upper-middle to rich classes with
Decadence, affluence, inclusion, is.
No less societal determination of
Middle to lower, being excluded by
Division and conquering, privation.

Yet, they, on wing no more, still fly
In our spirit's eye, heal humanities'
Heart. While their silent cry echoes
The 33,000 species extinct each year,
A rate not seen since the last ice age
Ensued; does it move you?
Does your curiosity ask why?

Will you, on this 33rd Earth Day, allow
A tear for all life's fallen? Consider
The losses economic apartheid incurs,
Mirrored by the divide human-centricity
Has levied? Our underlying duplicitous
Disregard for life, greed and oil fueled,
Won't abate for our existence, will you?

What Is Love?

Not just what..., where..., when, how,
Who, and sometimes why?, is love, too.
The delusional construct of separation
Defines minds riddled with confusion.
Everything is connected, spiritually also.
There are no compartments in our minds,
In the Universe, this is love, that isn't,
No depts., just these 3 he's are to be....

How could one say killing middle-class
To poor people in other countries, for
Autocratic, theocratic, and totalitarian
Leaders is love?  Yet, he is doing... to
Afford his Piece, piece of the pie too,
For him, her, "theirs", it is love; how
About you?  Isn't a blow to a student's
Head by a teachers sword compassion,
And is not that tough love, love too?

Since, there is nothing other, in reality,
How do we study, ascribe, describe? 
We know, like all other things, love
Is also a word, and words are paths
Of study, a way to walk, and all paths
Of study, walks to walk, are in two
Directions, the corporate structure's, la
Machine's, convolutions devolutionary
One, interlocking and laced systems,
Scarcity based, greed, avarice driven.

And the evolutions, based on reality'
Abundance, life flung, sprung.  The
First, supposed power is defined as
Manipulation, using, destruction to
Extinction; the evolutionary one,
Growth, self-actuation, potential
Realizing, conscious, enlightenment.
Nature, not to be unsung, adds, the
As of yet unknown and unknowable
Too, for, doesn't a River love its bed,
Banks, Mountain love sky, the sky it?

A Sign Of The Times Too

 
King George says, 'you're either with WWIII, or again'
Us', proving, 'from the mouth of babes comes wisdom.';
Just not theirs. Soothes say, here's where it all has to
Happen, seems so; for, if not us, who, here, where,
Now, when, or possibly never? Following la machine's
Fearless lead, Tim Robbins chimes out, 'Let us war on
Violence'. With enemies like these, the republican's
Convolution's direction of devolution doesn't need
Friends, sure why not be a waron, instead of a moron;
The resemblance, striking, literally. Yet, like PBS,
It's the best we have, and unlike hbo, it's not b.o. A
Chorus, unchiming, that having's an illusion, drowned
Out by their show, is still. 'Cause, isn't the delusion
Built on it, possession, it 9/10 ths of the law, a corner-
Stone of that most vacuum up economic tool of mollock,
War? They hark, what about take away game theory.
This, while the U.S. sucks up 80% of earth's riches,
Being only 5% of its population, causing permanently
Altered weather cycles, determining unnatural disasters
That kill millions, and will billions. C'est la unvie,
They must die so the autocracy ever-concentrates at the
Top, unnatural selection, user, used, predator, prey,
They say? Yet, using is illusion, evolutionary accordance,
reality. Though, the suck: lack of investment in youth,
Innercities, unschools programming memory skills, the
Prison industrial complexes defacto-slavery, the injust-
Ice systems premeditated massmurdering death penalty,
Make believe Christianities antilife unchoices, splitting
Of atom, earth-murder causing extinction, could be the
Start of an eventual blackhole; after they trash Gaia
And flee the collapsing solar system, a losing race to
Escape their ignoring, if responsibility isn't exor-
Cised, its Siamese sister, freedom, will wither, as well.
Now, the Oracle of Tevi illumines, Bishop Desmond
Tutu's 'co-creation' is beautiful. But, won't the last
Guy be watching the best show the corporates could
Produce before he dies and humanity is nevermore;
'Cause it chose it wasn't by ignoring destruction is of
No value, murder is suicide stretched over ones future?
Or, will we allow nature's abundance to re-balance
Our ways, and walk in consciousness' universal grace?

We don't need to do a 180,
Changing direction won't do.
We can't turn back time, for,
Climate change determines,
It's way, way too late to.
We need to turn 360 degrees
Around, back to the evolution,
And the future, humanity
Will only have, if we do.
Artistry transcendent, betwixt
The sacred and profane,
We rain in the mundane.
Prismatic, strolling through
The looking glass, gesturing
With broad strokes, on that
Frameless frame, the world.

Never believe in yourself,
Know through experience.
Who needs to organize,
We aren’t files, unizing orgas
Is where it's at. Experiencing
The full-circling of life,
As all issues are one, we are,

Where we were and weren’t,
Doing what we were
And not doing it, at once,
Not just back to original self,
Rather, self inconceivable,
Selfless, and illimitable
In one's potential, as well,

Our hundreds of thousands of emails and tens of thousands of phone calls have had a real impact:

Amendments were adopted that made CISPA (marginally) better.
Earlier this month CISPA was supposed to sail through, but we helped foment real opposition, and the vote was far closer than anybody could have imagined even a couple of weeks ago.
Most Democrats held firm in opposition, and more than two dozen libertarian-leaning Republicans defied their leadership and vote no.
Most importantly, President Obama has threatened to veto CISPA.
The Senate will consider cyber security legislation in the coming weeks.  Let's turn up the heat right away:

I am grateful for the communication I have received from so many of you. Your candid remarks and thoughtful responses to questions we asked have proved to be very illuminating to me. The IWWG Board and I have listened to you, and because you wanted the Guild's activities--The Spring Big Apple and the Summer Conference--to continue, the Board voted unanimously to move forward with the planning and preparation of both activities. And now, here we are with only a few days away from this season's BIG APPLE CONFERENCE, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, April 14-15. We have also begun planning and organizing the Summer Conference at Yale (Friday-Tuesday, June 22-26)!!

I am delighted to announce that Marj Hahne, longtime Guild member and teacher, poet, and friend to so many of you, will bring her expertise and incredible integrity and focus to the Summer Conference planning. Marj has accepted my invitation to work as our Summer Conference Coordinator. We are working now to determine the new structure of our four-day conference. They say women have no rights to affordable healthcare, women’s healthcare, reproductive care, equal wages for equal work, etc..  They say "contraception isn't a right", and are now trying to insist through legislation; while they make believe they're against abortion and disease, we can stop their devolutionary directions' destruction by dispelling the republican conspiracies pathological lying, and even the dinos pathological half-truthing, with truth telling- let's.   Currently, yes Trayvon was racially profiled, killed, yet, let's get all the facts.  All smearing in this multi-media conspiracy weapon of mass-distraction tragedy is wrong; until there's a factual and complete timeline presented, all we know is 2 'have it like that' individuals collided and the one with the gun and the dad whose a judge won, tragically, so far- indicating the "stand your ground law" isn't appropriate for united suck of assassins citizens, at this time, while self defense is necessary, the law must be changed, "feeling your life might be threatened" is too low a threshold for a deadly force response.  Oh, yeah, no "million hoodie march", besides the fact that hoods, short for hoodlums, do wear hoods, and this is a necessary warning sign for everyone to note, in their constant self-defense, spending 200 million dollars on a show of how much the supposed left is a media whore, and marketeers on tragedies and the left, isn't allowable 6 months before a presidential elections cycle.  The attacks on Trayvon's reputation in the media are disgraceful, and disrespectful to his memory and his mourning family, as well.  These attacks reflect the same kind of racial profiling and stereotyping that led to his death and then protected his killer from investigation and arrest, yet, how many others, non-African-Americans, for example, were murdered or killed, that same day, and they‘ve no relevance to the supposed civil rights movement.  Trayvon's killer, George Zimmerman, still hasn't been arrested. The focus of the media and our public officials should be on getting justice for Trayvon and addressing the dangers of racial profiling in our society.  As well, just because Zimmerman was wrong, that doesn’t make Trayvon right, why was he in a gated community he wasn’t visiting, etc..  All supremacies from all conspiracies within all demographics, who all collaborate with the white supremacy, must stop dictating their demographics embrace the devolutionary direction of the corporate structure’s convolution; and support allowing kids to be kids, and young women to become women, at minimum, before they’re introduced to any and all forms of corporate whoring.  The war on the middle-class to poor targets men, and more acutely, non-remocrat boys to men who are Caucasian, first, destroying infants testicles; second, using the republican’s psychic terrorism, the ‘suck’, to assassinate infants in the crib, feeding on their souls; third, raping them repeatedly to destroy their defenses and anus, fourth, over-stimulating them in every way so they might think there’s something wrong with them while all conspirators attack them in every way, including anatomical destruction to prevent them from getting sports contracts, etc., fifth, separating their astral bodies, souls, from their bodies during dreaming, with ‘falling off the cliff’ scenarios where one’s astral body leaves the body before it hit’s the ground, and is then led to understand the immense freedom an astral body can have, instilling in the astral body a dread of returning to the body, and its life, that is destroyed and weakened by all conspirators continually attacking the boys; sixth, can consist of enumerable scenarios where through voodoo, yoodoo, satanism, supposed Yoruba, Santiera, Sikh, Shinto, Witchcraft, Kali, Druidism, etc., the astral body is stolen from them, and led to the demonic forces of the republican conspiracies’ psychic terrorism, the suck, destroying as it is ordered to.  This is why I disagree with Islamic countries, in their general, deeming of the united suck of assassins the “great satan“, for, the ancient Hebraic, then Judeo-Christian, and presently, the Roman Catholic imperial lies purporting the existing of a devil, etc., while swallowed whole by those weak minded enough to be brainwashed into being believers, abominations, instead of students of the real: Jesus’ teachings, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, art science, agnostics, atheists, Buddhism, art, science, Wicca, Native American Spirituality, existentialists, Shinto, psychology, Sikh, etc., knowers, are just that, lies; yet, the republican’s psychic terrorism, the suck, is the closest thing to a devil that has ever existed on earth- so, the ”great” part, must, at least, be removed, for power garnered from pedocide programs that mass sexually attack non-remocrat Caucasian boys, their target group, by the Roman Catholic Empire, Hindu cults, etc., could hardly be called great, as they all are cowards.  As well, all who support the pedocide programs of the military, etc., are cowards and aiders and abetters of pedos; therefore, pedos themselves- who could possibly pay even a dollar of taxes that goes directly into the pockets of the pedos the gov’t orders to sexually attack their own kids?  Also, why doesn’t the U.N. get all the money it needs, so it can fully support the I.C.C., etc., the U.S. taxpayers have so much money robbed from their gov’t, they don’t fund the U.N. more, as they could and should.  Every time you pay a dollar in tax: subsidies to sports stadiums, etc., you’re paying a sports industry that anatomically destroys your boys to stop them from competing to get sports contracts, all of whose participants profit off the genocide of non-remocrat Caucasian boys to men; for the remocrat dominated military, police, intelligence, etc., industrial complexes, you’re supporting the ever increasing theft of your tax dollars by them, for, they only wish to replicate themselves, grow, steal more as hey get more powerful, making their desired unnecessary “unending” global blitzkrieg war a future realism; of the $ 500. you pay to every Israeli citizen yearly, you’re enabling their destruction of Palestine, and foreign aggression, cementing their supposed policy of peace and their real policy of it’s never going to happen; to the defense dept., a large % of it goes to usa military bases abroad, and the dino-in-chief is increasing the number, in Australia, etc., directing paying for the military protection of the world by you, not the citizens of those countries, so, they don’t have to, they use those tax dollars they don’t have to spend on military to have an exponentially better way of life than usa citizens do, etc., just so the republicans can get their cut of that scam money; a % of it goes to the medical industrial complex of technocratic innovation as their panacea, medical model Dr. Mengeles, who uber-charge for unnecessary almost everything, and premeditatedly mass destroy and murder their patients as they’re ordered to, for e.g., when you get a fancy test, the results are communicated to the psychic terrorism, informing them on how to murder you more effectively, etc.; a % goes to the engineered over the last decade, pre “Plessey vs. Ferguson” supremacy court decision, education system of 70 years ago, being born again, where a “separate and unequal” education system was allowed, by the ”ebony and ivory, working together in perfect harmony…”, supposed Christian conspiratorial white, black, etc., supremacists, republicans, immoral minority, and kluckers, all aboard the S.S. Currently, yes Trayvon was racially profiled, killed, yet, let's get all the facts. The attacks on Trayvon's reputation in the media are disgraceful, and disrespectful to his memory and his mourning family, as well. These attacks reflect the same kind of racial profiling and stereotyping that led to his death and then protected his killer from investigation and arrest, yet, how many others, non-African-Americans, for example, were murdered or killed, that same day, and they‘ve no relevance to the supposed civil rights movement. Reflections on Black History

Black History Month should be of interest to every Muslim, especially in America. It is estimated that upwards to 20 percent of the Africans enslaved in the Americas were Muslim. In some areas, such as the coast of the Carolinas, Georgia, and parts of Virginia, the percentages of Muslims in the slave population may have approached 40 percent. The fact that the search of a random African American, Alex Haley, for his roots led him to a Muslim village in West Africa is indicative of the widespread Muslim presence among the enslaved population here in the Americas. I invite you to join me at the Occupy AIPAC Summit in Washington this weekend.

 I spent seven years in the Middle East.  I lived for two of those seven years in Jerusalem.  I was the Middle East Bureau Chief for the New York Times.  AIPAC does not speak for Jews or for Israel.  It speaks for right-wing ideologues who believe that because they have capacity to wage war, they have a right to wage war.

And just as these elites were too blind and too enamored of their own rhetoric to see what invading Iraq would trigger, so too are they unable to comprehend the regional conflagration that would be unleashed by attacking Iran.

The uprisings from Tunisia to Egypt to Greece to Occupy Wall Street to our gathering outside AIPAC's doors in Washington are all the same primal struggle for justice.

 The battle for justice in Middle East is our battle.  It is part of the vast, global battle against the 1 percent.  It is a battle against the fossil fuel industry, the weapons manufacturers, the security and surveillance state, the misuse of public funds that wastes $ 4 trillion on wars that never had to be fought, the trillions more in looted taxpayer money to prop up insolvent banks and swell bloated military budgets, the battle to protect working men and women who are left struggling in the name of "austerity" to save their homes and find work. 

Join us at Occupy AIPAC this weekend. Help us make the voices of the 99 percent—the voices of mothers, fathers and children in the squalid refugee camps in Gaza, in the suburbs of Tehran and in the bleak industrial wastelands in Ohio—heard.

Obama's Budget: What's in it for War Prevention Funding?

The Obama administration released its fiscal year 2013 budget request last week.
For overall State Department and USAID international affairs programs, the
president's request represents a 2.4% increase over last year's levels. However,
the budget includes lower levels of funding for several programs that FCNL
supports to help peacefully prevent deadly conflict. In a positive development,
the budget request reduces the amount of diplomacy and development funding

While war spending is on the decline, the proportional cost of the war has not

Investigation (FBI). Despite the courts' acknowledgment of FBI and
prosecutorial misconduct in the case, Peltier has been imprisoned
since 1976, currently at the U.S. Penitentiary at Coleman, Florida.

Legal Strategies-The legal team continues to address issues
surrounding parole; a transfer so that Leonard can be closer to
home and family, as well as have access to quality health care;
Executive Clemency; Leonard's conditions of confinement; etc. We

Congress of American Indians and several interested Nations who,
with the attorneys and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians,
are developing strategies and advancing the work towards Leonard's
freedom.  Several high-level meetings (some with Administration

2012. Our activities will continue to involve work with the
United Nations, as well.  Frequent meetings between Leonard and
his attorneys at USP-Coleman in Florida also will be necessary.
Travel expenses, in particular, are expected to be a significant

Lobbying the U.S. Congress-As has been done in the past, we're
busy lobbying senators and other Members of Congress to gain their
support for Leonard's freedom, as well as for hearings on the "Reign
of Terror" and other issues related to the Peltier case.  To date,
this activity has been focused on mail and fax communications. To
enhance our effectiveness, a lobbying trip to Capitol Hill and
face-to-face meetings with congressional leaders is planned. You

Outreach and Public Education-We continue to reach out to luminaries
and activist organizations to galvanize support for Leonard's
freedom.  We've recently received the support of the largest
labor union in Canada, as well as resolutions passed at various
Occupy Movement sites.  In addition, we're conducting outreach to
U.S. colleges and universities to educate the students about the
Indigenous Rights movement and Leonard Peltier's case. Demonstrations
are planned worldwide on the International Day of Solidarity
with Leonard Peltier on 04 February 2012, too. Participate as

Background: Native American activist Leonard Peltier was wrongfully
convicted in connection with the deaths of two agents of the Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Despite the courts' acknowledgment
of FBI and prosecutorial misconduct in the case, Peltier has been
imprisoned since 1976, currently at the U.S. Penitentiary at Coleman,
Florida.

The evidence shows that the FBI was the aggressor in the firefight
that occurred on June 26, 1975.  From 1973 to 1976, Indigenous
People on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota were
victims of beatings, drive-by shootings, and stabbings carried out
by local vigilantes who collaborated with the FBI.  Peltier and
other Indigenous activists were forced into a defensive posture
to protect not only their lives, but the lives of others who
were present-elders, women, and children.  Indeed, Mr. Peltier's
co-defendants, tried separately, were acquitted on grounds of
self-defense.

The evidence also clearly shows that the U.S. government's goal
was to orchestrate Mr. Peltier's conviction by any means-including
falsifying extradition documents and intentionally committing fraud
on a Canadian court, as well as suppressing evidence of Mr. Peltier's
innocence during his trial.  By the government's own admission,
the critical part of the prosecution's case against Mr. Peltier
was the ballistics testimony which, years after his conviction,
was discovered to be false.

While most states are currently reducing their prison populations, Illinois has added more than 4,000 inmates to its prisons.  The problem of prison overcrowding is rooted in decades of tough on crime legislation, the war on drugs, and harsh sentencing practices.  These policies have drained Illinois of vital resources, while having only a minimal effect on the crime rate.  Today IDOC is one of the state's largest agencies, with a $1 billion budget.
 
 $362,000,000 on Phone Calls
 An exhaustive analysis of prison phone contracts nationwide has revealed that with only limited exceptions, telephone service providers offer lucrative kickbacks (politely termed “commissions&rdquo to state contracting agencies – amounting on average to 42% of gross revenues from prisoners’ phone calls – in order to obtain exclusive, monopolistic contracts for prison phone services.
 
 These contracts are priced not only to unjustly enrich the telephone companies by charging much higher rates than those paid by the general public, but are further inflated to cover the commission payments, which suck over $152 million per year out of the pockets of prisoners’ families – who are the overwhelming recipients of prison phone calls. Averaging a 42% kickback nationwide, this indicates that the phone market in state prison systems is worth more than an estimated $362 million annually in gross revenue.
 
 60% of Commissary Profits go to the Department of Corrections 523 Salary Reimbursement Fund.  These funds, generated by often over-inflated costs of common good items such as: soap, shoes and winter-wear, do not go to encourage re-entry programs, job-programs, counseling programs, privileges for good behavior, victim relief funds or children of the incarcerated funds.

Offenders are caged, some 23-hours a day, families cannot afford to offer support or aid, many are functionally illiterate, re-entry programs fall flat or short and so many are unleashed into society, unprepared, ill-equipped and more dangerous than when they went in.
 
 The Vigil for True Justice is an initiative formed by several joined community groups and advocacy programs.  It is a 31-day MORATORIUM  (APRIL 1ST THROUGH APRIL 31ST) where inmates, family members, tax payers, citizens, victims’ family members and friends Stand STILL, open their eyes and cease all spending for items that exploit mass incarceration such as Phone Calls by Consolidated, Unnecessary commissary items and Vending Companies such as Ace Vending. 
  
 Administrators of the Vigil will subsequently support legislation for goals such as:
