This is Venus Marquez's friend, Gina Arellano. Venus is a friend of my daughter Nikka.  She seems to be covered in rashes/sores due to possibly chickenpox and needs to raise at least 200 Euros - about $275 US - to cover medical expenses.

If you can share this, great!  If you can contribute anything toward this fund, even better!  I intend to try to donate as well either next Friday or Saturday.  I love my daughter and I would die if anything happened to her like this.

Thanks.

Please bear with me as I explain a couple of very important things that are on my mind.

We live in a society where the individual makes up the health of the whole. Give a person the opportunity and tools to succeed and they, in turn, will do the same for others.  However, I am getting more and more jaded each passing day when the opportunity and tools just aren't enough.  I do thank goodness for social media and what it can do -- to educate, inform, and show us things we might not have been able to do over a decade ago.  But it can also reveal the underbelly of things we'd rather not know.  People who want to take advantage of others' gullibility and distract, misinform and inveigle to the point where we all become fearful, doubtful, and suspicious of every little thing that comes our way.

For the past four years I have been struggling to keep what I have.  And I took advantage of opportunities that came my way in order to rise above the challenges and obstacles I had to face.  I had to endure the humilitation of a lawsuit against me by a collection agency who I contacted twice before to work with me to resolve my problem.  I find their behavior vile.  And now I have to deal with yet another "threat to sue" letter that I received June 14, 2013 and have until the 22nd to pony up either $1,873 (total), $313 (for six months), or $156 (for 12 months).  All this company wants is MONEY.  Nothing else.

Their letter to me states "Rather than increasing the extent of your obligation by any costs and/or disbursements, we still remain willing to resolve this account before suit is filed."

In a pig's eye.  They never wanted to work with me at all - even after sending them two previous letters (which I still have by the way) and completely ignoring me.  Even a last letter I am sending reminds them of my intentions to work this out under my own solutions - not THEIRS.  If they ignore this, at least I have informed the company I owe these monies to that they either forgive the debt (one company was very kind enough to do this), or force the collection agency to stop any further proceedings against me.

In a last-ditch effort to potentially fix this, I have started a GoFundMe page to help me avoid another costly lawsuit.  With a wage garnishment already against me to pay back $4,000 by this ONE AGENCY alone -- and still not responding to my letters AT ALL -- I need to fight back.  If all this company wants is money:  so be it.  Let's give it to them.  I have had it struggling day-in, day-out, and ask for your help in distributing this link or helping me get at the very least $156 and throw it back at Portfolio Recovery Associates' proverbial faces with a huge "screw you" attached to it.

Update:  A law group caught wind of my situation and yet I'm hesitant to enlist their services since I looked over their letter to me and still have to come up with $750 to fight my lawsuit against PRA.  I "may" give them a call since it would be a free consultation.  It "may" even be possible to file a lawsuit against the debt agency too but I'm skeptical about what would happen. I'm not a litigious guy but I may have no choice in the matter if I cannot raise at least $125 to go through a Mediation & Paralegal service to file for bankruptcy.  But, at the moment, $750 is the GoFundMe goal at this time.

I work terribly hard to survive. But with only a 2-day-a-week job and sometimes merchandising work in town and outside town, it puts a severe strain on my old and ugly 1984 Toyota Tercel. On Wednesday, August 14th, I lost all the oil due to a bad leak.

This oil problem was noticed after I had put more than $800 of work into the vehicle since I bought it in 2008 when my Mitsubishi Montero blew a piston (rendering that beloved vehicle useless). I bought the Tercel from my mechanic since he and his son worked on it as a project. But since I bought it, hoping to get my old job back (it's been 4 years now and now an HR person is looking into why I'm not being hired), other problems came up: wheel bearing, fuel pump, starter, all were replaced at the sacrifice of my rent monies from my 2-day-a-week job and merchandising work. Currently, the radiator is heating up and needs replacing too but I can't keep on sacrificing my rent monies to correct all the problems.

On Monday, August 19th, the oil pan will be looked at but I cannot afford the $79 fee or any other repair on this vehicle which is really stressing me out. I have already sacrificed too much rent (4 months worth at $400/mo) for this car and other things and I cannot move elsewhere since rent around Northern California is expensive. I am lucky to have this place and do not wish to lose it or my car.

I am deeply concerned over my welfare and need to try to financially recover. I cannot rely on family anymore which has already done so much since 2009-2012. I either sink or swim with this. I don't want to lose my apartment, my job, and not be able to get ahead. It hurts to ask for this kind of help since I'm already trying to ask for help in a travel project that I am currently promoting via Go Fund Me - Facebook Travels: The Philippines.

I not only accept help via this page but on PayPal as well. ANY amount is appreciated to cover past rent monies and getting the car fixed until I am able to purchase a better vehicle. If I can somehow get over debt collectors as well hounding me for money (one has already garnished 25% of my meager wages from my 2-day-a-week job to pay a $4,000 judgment)... I am quite upset and uncertain where my life is heading but I have to believe something good is going to happen.

As for reward levels - the only things I am able to offer are free sponsorships to my travel series; if you have a product or service I can advertise those for free. If you're an individual, I can provide a signed copy DVD of the series FOR FREE as well. You would also have unlimited free advertising on my media site, Kingspirit Entertainment (featured on Facebook). I am trying my best to overcome this hardship and I know how difficult it can be to adapt to changing circumstances.

Update:  I got a call from my mechanic over an hour ago - tons of potential problems and, frankly, I'm not one to admit freely that I'm scared of losing everything if I can't fork over more than $500 to get the car fixed this week.  Losing this job, this apartment, this life I barely have right now... I need your help.

Further update:  August 26th I got another summons from Portfolio Recovery Associates -- they're the ones who garnished my wages for a $4,000 judgment against me -- and I have 30 days to respond.  Another gofundme page has been created to raise $1,873 to throw back at in their proverbial faces.  Three times I petitioned them for help and to work WITH me and they ignored my pleas.  Even if I can manage to get $125 somehow I can go through a mediation and paralegal service to file for bankruptcy.  But I need to do this within a 30 day window.

In this holiday season, many people and companies try to participate in a food program to help those in need.  Even Jon Bon Jovi has his Soul Kitchen to help those who can't afford to feed their families but accepts whatever monies anyone can afford to purchase a meal.  And, during the last week of Thanksgiving, I had the pleasure of setting up my pay-what-you-can coffee and tea service for the Christmas Day Parade here in Red Bluff, California.

However, as much as we try to help others in our home towns, there are people in other countries who do not even have enough food to survive.  Relief centers help but supplies are low and after the Typhoon Pablo fiasco, many relief centers have had families and individuals torn away from stable homes.  Yes, storms like Hurricane Sandy can generate relief efforts almost immediately, but those in other countries aren't so well off.

I have a friend in the Philippines who is struggling to survive.  Although she wasn't affected by the typhoon which devastated areas in the island nation, she is having a hard time surviving and buying groceries is a necessity no one should have to do without.  I hope to raise at least $60 at the following GoFundMe page, http://www.gofundme.com/1nzi98 before this coming weekend, the 15th.  This isn't a scam since I have already posted my link on my Kingspirit Entertainment page on Facebook as well as my personal Facebook and MySpace pages.

I never want to see a human being without food and starving.  Let's rally to give my friend the help she desperately needs. She is a bit desperate and I hope you can find it in your heart to at least donate $5 or more toward the fund.

Thank you.

The title explains it all - any amount, very small or large accepted.  I even have one for a friend - raising capital for her educational needs;  I did get a donation there! Smile

Don't worry if you can't donate.  I expect very little but hope always springs eternal!

On February 17, 2011, a very dear old friend of mine, Allie, from Kent, Washington, lost her home to a devastating fire.  She and her daughter are currently living with Allie's ex-husband but I am on a mission.  I mulled over what I should do and today, her posting on my Facebook page nearly broke my heart.  Toshiba, the makers of her laptop, want to charge her $334 for repairs.  Allie has to come up with the money within 3 days.  I find that unacceptable.  It has been a month and slowly but surely Allie is trying to rebuild with what she has.  The members of the fire department have helped a little but I wonder what my friends and friends-of-friends can do to help her.

I am an honest person -- let me make that explicitly clear.  I know that people here on Care2.com have tried scamming people out of their hard-earned money in this economy but  I will be providing links in this message to reiterate my mission.  Plus, I will be posting this on my Care2.com, Facebook and MySpace pages to show I mean business.

I want to raise $5,000 and have it sent to my friend via PayPal (Allie has an account).  But I am not releasing her email address to just anybody.  I knew this golden-hearted person since grade school, high school and college.  Since college we never reconnected until she saw my Facebook page two months ago.  She got in touch with me almost one month before the fire.  As soon as I saw the news of the fire on my page, I almost panicked.  I realized she was okay.  But her home is gone.  $170,000 loss.

Here is the first link about the incident:

I have always been upfront with all of my friends.  And if you can help me with this, I would appreciate your help.

This is my Facebook page:

This is my friend's page:

This is my online media comapny's page:

I am a real person with a real goal.  I really could use some PayPal donations to Allie ASAP (as soon as possible).  I don't care how it can happen but her post really says it all...

Well Toshiba wants $334.00 to fix my laptop, I have 3 days to come up with the money, I emailed them to ask for a discount since our house burned down and we lost most everything but no reply, I hope so cause I need my laptop, right now Im using a rental which I could only afford for 2 weeks. Please pray a solution presents itself thanks.

If you truly want to help, get in touch with me!  I want to make Allie smile again and let her know that help is coming.  I will be online each day this weekend to try to make this happen.  I already sent $5 (all I could afford right now) but we need more commitments to make a difference.  This is not an early April Fools joke.  Email me immediately if you truly want to help.

Update:  It's 2 1/2 months later and I'm more than a bit disappointed in how this has been unfulfilled.  I realize that a lot of you are leery of things like this but I still mean what I say and practice what I preach.  I have even created a page on ChipIn to make it easier to donate.  And, again, anything is appreciated.  $1 can make a difference.  I've already donated to someone's needed surgery and feel better that I can actually HELP someone.  Here's the ChipIn link:

It can happen to anyone at any age at any time.  Drug and alcohol abuse can damage families and the person its affecting.  Here in Northern California, we celebrate the people recovering from these abuses by holding a free barbecue.

At AllVoices.com, you can find my article, video and pictures about this event.  Please help support freelance, independent journalism by reading about this important subject.
