I'd like to thank the many people who have written to express their revulsion at the barbaric savagery inflicted on a bull in Turkey (and they call it " a sacrifice" --- I'd like to perform a different kind of sacrifice myself, actually).
The messages have been addressed to me and to nomessage-Eureka. I know she would be proud to receive your messages and glad that this horrible act has been able to galvanize so many of us.
The trouble is that I don't have a way to get in touch with Eureka, at least to tell her about the many messages that people who care have been sending.
I'm sure that Eureka would share my desire to be able to do something about that horrific "sacrifice" by sadistic, mean and dumb basxxxxs. I wonder if people have any ideas about such action. I have no experience with that type of activity, but I'd be happy to join a group that does.
I'm thinking about a boycott of Turkish products, but I don't know what Turkey exports in addition to dried figs, Turkish delight, bad marmalades, mediocre stuffed peppers, some indifferent eggplant concoctions and imitation pasta. I'm sure they produce olive oil, but I don't know whether and how much reaches this hemisphere. To tell the truth, I've seen Turkish products only in a local Middle Eastern store. So i would think that boycotting such imports would not have a significant economic impact, even if we could get a campaign or a "Take Action" effort. A boycott of travel to and in Turkey would seem very reasonable, but again I don't know if such travel has an important economic impact.
Please keep me posted with your ideas. Best wishes to all, AC
